Objective To describe correlation between multiple genetic tumor markers,carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA),cytokeratin 20 (CK20),and Survivin,and clinicopathological features of colorectal cancer (CRC) and to assess prognostic diagnosis value in cancer recurrence and *** A total of 92 patients with CRC,68 patients with precancerous lesions,and 29 control volunteers were collected for the detection of CEA,CK20,and Survivin expressions by using quantitative Real-Time PCR *** among these measurements and clinicopathological features of CRC,and cancer recurrence and metastasis rates in 4-year follow-up were *** No mRNA expressions of CEA,CK20,or Survivin were detected in the control *** of CEA,CK20,and Survivin were 41.3%,47.8%,and 72.8% in CRC patients,*** expressions of genetic tumor markers were related to the clinical stage and lymph node *** patients with Survivin high expression,4-year survival rate was significantly lower than that in Survivin low *** multiple tumor markers assay for CRC patients showed higher specificity and positive detection rate than single marker *** with CEA,CK20,and Survivin simultaneous expressions had significantly higher 4-year recurrence rate and death rate than those with only one or two markers *** tumor markers assay including CEA,CK20,and Survivin in peripheral blood by quantitative Real-Time PCR can be an ideal method for the surveillance of the recurrence and prognosis for CRC patients.

Objective:This study aimed to investigate the potential of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell(hucMSC)-derived exosomes(hucMSC-Exos)in inhibiting hypoxia-induced cell hyper proliferation and overexpression of vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A)in immature human fetal retinal microvascular endothelial cells(hfRMECs).Methods:Exosomes were isolated from hucMSCs using cryogenic ultracentrifugation and characterized through various techniques,including transmission electron microscopy,nanoparticle tracking analysis,bicinchoninic acid assays,and western *** hfRMECs were identified using von Willebrand factor(vWF)co-staining and divided into four groups:a control group cultured under normoxic condition,a hypoxic model group,a hypoxic group treated with low-concentration hucMSC-Exos(75μg/mL)and a hypoxic group treated with high-concentration hucMSC-Exos(100μg/mL).Cell viability and proliferation were assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assay and EdU(5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine)assay *** levels of VEGF-A were evaluated using RT-PCR,western blotting and ***:Hypoxia significantly increased hfRMECs’viability and proliferation by upregulating VEGF-A *** administration of hucMSC-Exos effectively reversed this response,with the high-concentration group exhibiting greater efficacy compared to the lowconcentration ***:In conclusion,hucMSC-Exos can dose-dependently inhibit hypoxia-induced hyperproliferation and VEGF-A overexpression in immature fetal retinal microvascular endothelial cells.

Objective： The aim of this study was to detect metastasis-associated in colon cancer-1 （MACC1） expression in Chinese gastric cancer and analyze the relationship between MACC1 expression and postoperative survival. Methods： The expression of MACC1 and c-MET protein in a sample of 128 gastric cancer tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. A retrospective cohort study on the prognosis was carried out and data were collected from medical records. Results： The positive rate of MACC1 protein expression in gastric cancer was 47.66%, higher than that in adjacent noncancerous mucosa （P0.001）. MACC1 protein expression was not related to the clinicopathological variables involved. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the survival of MACC1 positive group tended to be better than that of MACC1 negative group, particularly in patients with stage III carcinoma （P=0.032）. Cox regression analysis revealed that MACC1 protein over-expression in gastric cancer tended to be a protective factor with hazard ratio of 0.621 （P=0.057）. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that the positive rate of c-MET protein expression was much higher in cases with positive MACC1 expression in gastric cancer （P=0.002）, but P53 expression was not associated with MACC1 expression. Conclusion： MACC1 over-expression implies better survival and may be an independent prognostic factor for gastric cancer in Chinese patients.

Piwi-interacting RNAs(piRNAs)is a novel class of non-coding ***,changes in piRNA expression profiles in recurrent spontaneous abortion(RSA)have not yet been *** aim of this study was to identify differentially expressed piRNAs in deciduas of RSA *** tissues were collected by curettage from recruited RSA patients and normal early pregnant(NEP)women with their informed *** RNA sequencing was used to evaluate the differences in piRNA expression profiles between RSA and *** present results demonstrated that the counts of total piRNA reads in RSA samples were increased compared with those in NEP samples(0.21%vs.0.11%).Differential expression analysis identified 29 upregulated piRNAs and 18 downregulated piRNAs in RSA ***-qPCR further confirmed that the expression levels of uniq-109625,uniq-89328,uniq-50651 and uniq-4569 were decreased in 8 RSA tissues,compared with 13 NEP ***,pi-22628 and uniq-173406 were increased in 8 RSA *** on GO term and KEGG pathway analysis,we speculate that these piRNAs regulate RSA by targeting extracellular matrix component pathway,cell adhesion pathway and focal adhesion *** may be involved in RSA pathogenesis by target genes function on adhesion and extracellular matrix component.

AIM： To assess the prevalence and socio-demographic distribution of hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection in albania. METHODS： Blood samples from 410 unselected schoolboys, 666 students, 500 military personnel, 1286 casual blood donors, 378 voluntary blood donors and 640 pregnant women （total 3880 non-vaccinated residents of rural and metropolitan areas from all over albania; 2354 （60.7%） male and 1526 （39.3%） female; mean age of 26.3 years） were tested during 2004-2006 for hepatitis B surface antigen （HBsAg） and antibodies to hepatitis B virus （anti-HBs） by ELISA. RESULTS： The HBsAg and anti-HBs prevalence were 9.5% and 28.7%, respectively. The highest HI3sAg prevalence was evident in the younger age group, such as in schoolchildren （11.8%） and the military （10.6%）. Consequently, the anti-HBs prevalence increased with age, from 21.2% in schoolchildren （mean age： 15.7 years）, to 36.3% in pregnant women （mean age： 26.3 years） and 29.7% in voluntary blood donors （mean age： 40.1 years）. There were no significant differences between males and females. CONCLUSION： Despite the estimated two-fold reduction of HBsAg prevalence in the general population from about 18%-19% to 9.5%, albania remains a highly endemic country （i.e. over 8% of HBsAg prevalence rate）.
