A new difunctional monomer N,N'-[bis(4,4'-hydroxypropyl methacrylate phenyl ester) pyromellitimide] (BHPMEPM), was synthesized by the reaction of the bis(4-carboxyphenyl)-N,N'-pyromelli- timide acid (diacid-diimide), and two molar equivalents of glycidylmethacrylate (GMA). The reaction was carried out by microwave radiation. The presence of difunctional groups, double bond groups, makes the monomer a potential material for obtaining thermosetting product. The curing and thermal stability of the crosslinked products were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques. The difunctional monomer and its thermoset polymer were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-FT-NMR and CHN elemental analysis.

A particulate composite material was prepared by adding (CaCO3, CaO, MgCO3, MgO) ceramic particles with particle size of (2 (0.5% wt.). The results had revealed that the maximum values of tensile strength, compression, bending strength, hardness, impact energy and water absorption%, were (57.6828 N/mm2 at 3% wt. CaCO3, 124.0965 N/mm2 at 9% wt. CaCO3, 102.188 N/mm2 at 9% wt. MgO, 88.2 Shore D at 9% wt. CaCO3, 0.27 J at 6%wt. CaCO3 and 0.8432 % at 15%***) compared with reference values, i.e.( 37.4742 N/mm2, 100.3563 N/mm2, 34.194 N/mm2, 83 Shore D, 0.36 J and 0.2626%) respectively.

Carbamazepine solubility enhancement in tandem with swellable polymer osmotic pump tablet: A promising approach for extended delivery of poorly water-soluble drugs

Elementary osmotic pump(EOP)is a unique extended release(ER)drug delivery system based on the principle of *** has the ability to minimize the amount of the drug,accumulation and fluctuation in drug level during chronic ***(CBZ),a poorly water-soluble antiepileptic drug,has serious side effects on overdoses and chronic *** aim of the present study was to design a new EOP tablet of CBZ containing a solubility enhancers and swellable polymer to reduce its side effects and enhance the patient ***,a combination of solubilizing carriers was selected to improve the dissolution of the slightly soluble ***,designing the new EOP tablet and investigating the effect of different variables of core and coat formulations on drug release behavior by single parameter optimization and by Taguchi orthogonal design with analysis of variance(ANOVA),*** results showed that CBZ solubility was successfully enhanced by a minimum amount of combined polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP K30)and sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS).The plasticizer amount and molecular weight(MW)together with the osmotic agent amount directly affect the release rate whereas the swellable polymer amount and viscosity together with the semi-permeable membrane(SPM)thickness inversely influence the release *** addition,the tendency of following zero order kinetics was mainly affected by the coat components rather than those of the ***,orifice size does not have any significant effect on the release behavior within the range of 0.1 mm to 0.8 *** this study we report the successful formulation of CBZ-EOP tablets,which were similar to the marketed product Tegretol CR 200 and able to satisfy the USP criterion limits and to deliver about 80%of CBZ at a rate of approximately zero order for up to 12 h.

The concept of a fuzzy topology on a fuzzy set has been introduced in [1]. The aim of this work is to introduce fuzzy δ*-continuity and fuzzy δ**-continuity in this in new situation and to show the relationships between fuzzy continuous functions where we confine our study to some of their types such as, fuzzy δ-continuity, fuzzy continuity, after presenting the definition of a fuzzy topology on a fuzzy set and giving some properties related to it.

Laboratory scale model of DMMBF （dual mixed media biofilter） were designed and installed in AI-mustansiriya university Environmental Hydraulic Lab. Experiments were conducted using two mixed layers through PVR column--2.2 m height and 300 mm diameter. The first mixed media filter of depth 640mm mixed of sand, rice husk and granular activated carbon. The percentage volume mix is 1：1：1. While the other mixed media of depth 740 mm, consisting of coal, crash porcelinaite, rock and granite with equally percentage volume. Fifty samples were collected during the experiments, which was spread over a period of forty two weeks. The obtained results indicate that when the flow loading raised from 0.15 L/min to 2.7 L/rain, the removal efficiency of BOD decreased 8%-11%, and the removal efficiency of COD deceased 3%-4%, while the removal efficiency of turbidity increased with the decreasing of hydraulic loading. The results showed that the removal efficiency of turbidity is more than 95% at the lower discharge （0.15 L/min）. Therefore, infiltration should be conservatively designed using low loading rates.

This paper deals with the MIMO-OFDM technique that is applied to the fourth generation (4G) of the wireless communication systems, this technique can provide high data rate transmission without increasing transmit power and expanding bandwidth, it can also efficiently use space resources and has a bright future. It presents the channel coding assisted STBC-OFDM systems, and employs the Coded Modulation techniques (CM), since the signal bandwidth available for wireless communications is limited. The proposed system deals with Non-binary error control coding of the TCM-aided STBC-OFDM scheme for transmissions over the Rayleigh channel. A new non-binary decoding method, Yaletharatalhussein decoding algorithm, is designed and implemented for decoding non-binary convolutional codes, which is based on the trellis diagram representing the convolutional encoder. Yaletharatalhussein decoding algorithm outperforms the Viterbi algorithm and other algorithms in its simplicity, very small computational complexity, decoding reliability for high states TCM codes that are suitable for Fourth-Generation (4G), decreasing errors with increasing word length, and easy to implement with real-time applications. The simulation results show that the performance of the non-binary TCM-based Yaletharatalhussein decoding algorithm-assisted STBC-OFDM scheme outperforms the binary and non-binary decoding methods.

Objective: To test the coalescence effect of two chemotherapy drugs at low effective dose(cisplatin and taxotere) combined with pomegranate juice on A549 cancer cells. Methods: Infrared spectroscopy method is a qualitative test that was performed to ensure the existence of the phytochemicals providing the antioxidant activity through the presence of the hydroxyl group(-OH). The viability of A549 cell line and normal MCs was tested using the neutral red uptake, Clonogenic survival, XTT and Cell migration assays. Results: Our results showed that this combination firstly led to a greater decrease in the viability of cells comparing to those treated with chemotherapy drugs alone, and secondly led to a significant reduction in cell migration. Conclusions: These data suggest a synergistic effect between the pomegranate and cisplatin which makes probably this combination a powerful option for treating lung adenocarcinoma and in parallel minimizing the systemic side effects.

The Combination Effect of Night Ventilation and Thermal Insulation on Passive Cooling of Buildings in Baghdad

An experimental investigation of passive cooling buildings has been carried out for a typical summer days extended from July to December of Baghdad in Iraq. Six independent chambers were designed and constructed for different roof constructions. Night ventilation has been applied to study the possibility of reducing air temperature in buildings by testing different air changes per hour extended from 5 to 30. Measurements outside chambers including air temperature; relative humidity and solar radiation were achieved, while surface temperature and air temperature inside the chambers were recorded. The results show that the air temperature can be decreased with a range from 3 ℃ to 6 ℃ when using 50 mm polystyrene. This decrease can further be lowered by 2 ℃ to 4 ℃ if night ventilation of change per hours in buildings is allowed. The reduction in air temperature can be reduced to 5 ℃ by combination of external night ventilation and white paint.

In experiments on newbom rats with stress related intracrani al hemorhage(ICH)using Doppler optical coberence tomognaphy(DOCT)we have shown that latent stage of ICH(4 h after stress)is characterized by decrease of venous blood outflow and the loss of sensitivity of sagittal vein to vasoconstrictor ffect of *** incidence of ICH(24 h after stress)was accompanied by progressi on of early pathological changes in cerebral venous blood flow(CVBF)and development of venous *** into consideration of this fact,we suggest that the suppression of CVBF related to the severity to the deleterious effect of stress on the brain hemodynamics in newborn *** facts allow us to conclude that the venous insufficiency with the loss of vasoconstrictor response to adrenaline is an informative and sensitive component of pattern of CVBF that can be important diagnostic criteria of risk of ICH development in newborns.

In this paper, we study an asymmetric game that characterizes the intentions of players to adopt a vaccine. The game describes a decision-making process of two players differentiated by income level and perceived treatment cost, who consider a vaccination against an infectious disease. The process is a noncooperative game since their vaccination decision has a direct impact on vaccine coverage in the population. We introduce a replicator dynamics (RD) to investigate the players’ optimal strategy selections over time. The dynamics reveal the long-term stability of the unique Nash-Pareto equilibrium strategy of this game, which is an extension of the notion of an evolutionarily stable strategy pair for asymmetric games. This Nash-Pareto pair is dependent on perceived costs to each player type, on perceived loss upon getting infected, and on the probability of getting infected from an infected person. Last but not least, we introduce a payoff parameter that plays the role of cost-incentive towards vaccination. We use an optimal control problem associated with the RD system to show that the Nash-Pareto pair can be controlled to evolve towards vaccination strategies that lead to a higher overall expected vaccine coverage.
