Comparison and Correlation Study of Polar Biomarkers of CKD Patients in Saliva and Serum by UPLC-ESI-MS

There are abundant reports on the use of aromatic amino acids and creatinineas biomarkers in serum and urine forCKD(chronic kidney disease). However, investigationsinto these bio-species in bio-fluids, such as saliva and sweat, are rarely reported. Increasing interest in non-invasive methods for medical diagnosis advocates for the testing of these bio-fluidstoidentify potential biomarkers for prompt clinical andpreliminary screening using advanced analytical equipment. Unstimulated whole saliva samples were obtained from twenty-seven CKD patients and an equivalent number of healthy individuals. Saliva was assayed with ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electro-spray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-MS) in hydrophilic interaction chromatography mode. The data were analyzed using a student’s t test and receiver operatingcharacteristic (ROC) to evaluate the predictive power of several potential biomarkers (Parea under the curve (AUC) values for control vs CKDpatientsfor on L-phenylalanine, L- tryptophan, and creatinine were 0.863, 0.834, and 0.916, respectively. This is the first report to compare serum and urine biomarkers in saliva between CKD patients and healthy people. This study explores the potential of CKD diagnosis by saliva, and demonstrates a positive correlation between salivary and serum creatinine.

Objective： Primary uterine leiomyosarcomas （ULMS） are rare, and the optimal treatment is controversial. We aimed to assess the outcome and prognostic factors in a multicenter population of women treated for primary ULMS. Methods： We retrospectively collected data of 110 women treated in 19 institutions of the Rare Cancer Network （RCN）. Inclusion criteria consisted of a pathology report confirming the diagnosis of ULMS, aged 18-80 years, complete International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics （FIGO） stage information, complete information on treatment, and a minimum follow-up of 6 months. Local control （LC） and locoregional control （LRC）, overall survival （OS） and disease-free survival （DFS） rates were computed using the Kaplan-Meier method. Univariate analysis was implemented using the log rank test, and multivariate analysis using the Cox model. Results： All patients underwent surgery. Seventy-five patients （68%） received adjuvant radiotherapy （RT）, including brachytherapy in 18 （I 6%）. Seventeen patients （15 %） received adjuvant chemotherapy. Median follow-up was 58 （range, 6-240） months. Five-year OS and DFS rates were 50% and 34%, and LC and LRC rates were 88% and 72%, respectively. On multivariate analysis, independent favorable prognostic factors were younger age, FIGO stage I, small tumor size, previous uterine disease, and no vascular invasion for OS and DFS. FIGO stage was the only favorable factor influencing LRC. Adjuvant local or systemic treatments did not improve the outcomes. Eight patients treated with RT presented a grade 3 acute toxicity, and only one patient with grade 3 late toxicity. Conclusions： In this large population of primary ULMS patients, we found good results in terms of LC and LRC. Nevertheless, OS remains poor, mainly due to the occurrence of distant metastases. Arecanut（Areca cathecu L.） yellow disease is a destructive disease caused by the phytoplasma,a serious threat to the healthy development of arecanut industry in Hainan Province for a long *** 16 S rRNA gene sequence was employed as the target to establish a rapid and efficient detection system for arecanut yellow leaf phytoplasma belonging to 16 SrI group in China by loop mediated isothermal amplification（LAMP） in the study,with testing the specificity,sensitivity and stability of the detection *** technology aiming to 16 SrI group arecanut yellow leaf phytoplasma in China was used to detect the samples of the arecanut yellow leaf disease from different areas of Hainan *** results showed that two sets of LAMP detection primers,16 SrDNA-2 and 16 SrDNA-3 were obtained for the 16 SrI group arecanut yellow leaf phytoplasma in China based on the 16 S rRNA gene sequence,both with good specificity and stability;The lowest detection limit of sensitivity of the two sets of LAMP detection systems was the same,200 ag/μL;Phytoplasmas were all detected in arecanut yellow leaf disease samples from Baoting,Tunchang,Wanning in Hainan province of China by using the two sets of LAMP primers 16 SrDNA-2 and 16 SrDNA-3,and no phytoplasma was detected in the negative *** detection technology is fast,efficient,easily operate and the results are visual,suitable for application and research in the rapid diagnosis of arecanut yellow disease in the field,the detection of seedlings with pathogen and the breeding of resistant arecanut *** is of great significance for the detection and identification of the arecanut yellow disease pathogen,the spread and scientific control of the disease.

AIM:To analyze the consistency of a potential involvement of the bacterium infection in the asthma disease. METHODS:A systematic literature search of the terms "Helicobacter pylori "(H. pylori) associated to "asthma" using PubM ed,Scopus and the Cochrane Library Central was performed. Reference lists from published articles were also employed. Titles of these publications and their abstracts were scanned in order to eliminate duplicates and irrelevant articles. The criteria of inclusion of the studies were:Original studies; the H. pylori diagnostic method has been declared; all ranges of age have been included in our study; a definitive diagnosis of asthma has been ***:We selected 14 articles in which the association between the two conditions was addressed. In 7 studies the prevalence of H. pylori infection in the asthma population and in the control population was made explicit. There was heterogeneity between the studies(Cohran's Q = 0.02). The H. pylori infection in the asthma population resulted 33.6%(518 of 1542),while in the control population resulted 37.6%(2746 of 7310)(relative risk of H. pylori infection in the asthma population = 0.87,95%CI:0.72-1.05,P = 0.015,random effects model). Instead,considering the morevirulent strains,the majority of studies showed an inverse relationship between the prevalence of H. pylori infection and ***:In our meta-analysis the prevalence of H. pylori infection in the asthma population resulted not statistically significant lower than in control population(P = 0.15). Instead,considering the more virulent strains,the majority of studies showed an inverse relationship between the prevalence of H. pylori infection and asthma.

The basic reproduction number of an infectious agent is the average number of infections one case can generate over the course of the infectious period,in a naïve,uninfected *** is well-known that the estimation of this number may vary due to several methodological issues,including different assumptions and choice of parameters,utilized models,used datasets and estimation *** the spreading of the novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)infection,the reproduction number has been found to vary,reflecting the dynamics of transmission of the coronavirus outbreak as well as the case reporting *** to significant variations in the control strategies,which have been changing over time,and thanks to the introduction of detection technologies that have been rapidly improved,enabling to shorten the time from infection/symptoms onset to diagnosis,leading to faster confirmation of the new coronavirus cases,our previous estimations on the transmission risk of the 2019-nCoV need to be *** using time-dependent contact and diagnose rates,we refit our previously proposed dynamics transmission model to the data available until January 29th,2020 and re-estimated the effective daily reproduction ratio that better quantifies the evolution of the *** estimated when the effective daily reproduction ratio has fallen below 1 and when the epidemics will *** updated findings suggest that the best measure is persistent and strict *** epidemics will continue to grow,and can peak soon with the peak time depending highly on the public health interventions practically implemented.
