Targeted delivery of neurochemicals and biomolecules for neuromodulation of brain activity is a powerful technique that,in addition to electrical recording and stimulation,enables a more thorough investigation of neural circuit *** have designed a novel,flexible,implantable neural probe capable of controlled,localized chemical stimulation and electrophysiology *** neural probe was implemented using planar micromachining processes on Parylene C,a mechanically flexible,biocompatible *** probe shank features two large microelectrodes(chemical sites)for drug loading and sixteen small microelectrodes for electrophysiology recording to monitor neuronal response to drug *** reduce the impedance while keeping the size of the microelectrodes small,poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)was electrochemically coated on recording *** addition,PEDOT doped with mesoporous sulfonated silica nanoparticles(SNPs)was used on chemical sites to achieve controlled,electrically-actuated drug loading and *** neurotransmitters,including glutamate(Glu)and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),were incorporated into the SNPs and electrically triggered to release *** in vitro experiment was conducted to quantify the stimulated release profile by applying a sinusoidal voltage(0.5 V,2 Hz).The flexible neural probe was implanted in the barrel cortex of the wild-type Sprague Dawley *** expected,due to their excitatory and inhibitory effects,Glu and GABA release caused a significant increase and decrease in neural activity,respectively,which was recorded by the recording *** novel flexible neural probe technology,combining on-demand chemical release and high-resolution electrophysiology recording,is an important addition to the neuroscience toolset used to dissect neural circuitry and investigate neural network connectivity.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has caused changes in the global health system,causing significant setbacks in healthcare systems *** pandemic has also shown resilience,flexibility,and creativity in reacting to the *** severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection targets most of the respiratory tract,resulting in a severe sickness called acute respiratory distress syndrome that may be fatal in some *** the lung is the primary organ targeted by COVID-19 viruses,the clinical aspect of the disease is varied and ranges from asymptomatic to respiratory ***,due to an unorganized immune response and several affected mechanisms,the liver may also experience liver cell injury,ischemic liver dysfunction,and drug-induced liver injury,which can result in respiratory failure because of the immune system’s disordered response and other compromised processes that can end in multisystem organ *** with liver cirrhosis or those who have impaired immune systems may be more likely than other groups to experience worse results from the SARS-CoV-2 *** thus intend to examine the pathogenesis,current therapy,and consequences of liver damage concerning COVID-19.

Phytochemical analysis, antioxidant, acetylcholinesterase, and α-amylase inhibitors from Hippeastrum hybridum extract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of Hippeastrum hybridum（HH） as a free radical scavenger,and an inhibitor of the two enzymes i-e Alpha-amylase（α-amylase） and acetylcholinesterase（AChE）.METHODS:In this study,HH plant was preliminary analyzed for phytochemical screening and then tested for its antioxidant,anti-α-amylase,and anti-AChE efficiency via standard ***:Phytochemical analysis shows the existence of different compounds;while Coumarins and quinones were *** total phenolic,flavonoid,and tannins content were found to be（78.52±0.69） mg GAE/g,（2.01±0.04） mg RUE/g,and（58.12±0.23） mg TAE/g of plant extract respectively.28.02%±0.02% alkaloid and 2.02%±0.05% saponins were present in the HH *** HH extract showed the anti-oxidant property with IC50（50%inhibition） of（151.01±0.13）(HH),（79.01±0.04）(Ascorbic acid) for ferric reducing,（91.48±0.13）(HH),（48.02±0.11）(Ascorbic acid) against Ammonium molybdenum,（156.02±0.31）(HH),（52.38±0.21）(Ascorbic acid) against DPPH,136.01±0.21（HH）,52.02±0.31（Ascorbic acid） against H2O2,and 154.12±0.03（HH）,（40.05±0.15）(Ascorbic acid)μg/mL against ABTS *** analysis indicated that HH caused a competitive type of inhibition of α-amylase(Vmaxremained constant and Km increases from 10.65 to84.37%) while Glucophage caused the un-competitive type of inhibition i-e both Km and Vmaxdecreased from40.49 to 69.15%and 38.86 to 69.61%*** Ki,（inhibition constant）;KI,（dissociation constant）,Km,（Michaelis-Menten constant）,and IC50 were found to be62,364,68.1,and 38.08±0.22 for HH and 12,101.05,195,34.01±0.21 for ***,HH causes an anon-competitive type of inhibition of AChE i-e Km remains constant while Vmaxdecreases from 60.5%to74.1%.The calculated Ki,KI,Km,and IC50 were found to be 32,36.2,0.05,and 18.117±***:From the current results,it is concluded that HH extract contains bioactive compounds,and could be a good alternative to controlling oxidants,Alzheimer‘s and T

Antibody Pattern: Correlation of Age and Gender in ANA and Anti-ds-DNA Prevalence

The study was designed to find the prevalence of ANA antibodies and anti-dsDNA antibodies in samples tested at AFIP Rawalpindi and their correlation with age and gender and to find positive and negative predictive values of ANA *** this purpose,twelve thousand nine hundred sixty-seven(12,967)patients were analyzed for ANA with four hundred sixty-eight(468)healthy samples tested as control and four thousand seven hundred three(4,703)patients tested for ds-DNA *** data of all samples tested by indirect immunofluorescence(IF)for ANA antibodies and dsDNA antibodies was *** address positive and negative predictive values another control group(autoimmunity not suspected)of serum samples was taken from the healthy *** the first group,age,gender,ANA antibodies and ds-DNA antibodies results(both tests performed by IIF)data was collected from a computer record cell;for the second control group,ANA antibodies were performed by IIF.12,967 and 4,703 samples(Group 1)were tested for ANA antibodies and dsDNA antibodies,respectively,during this period.1,119(9%)and 99(2%)were found positive for ANA antibodies and ds DNA *** these positive samples,850(76%)and 73(74%)were females *** predisposition towards autoimmunity(ANA)was found significant with a P value of(P=0.001).Relation of age was also found significant with anti-ANA antibodies with a P value of(P=0.001).This study shows a negative correlation between age(P=0.025)and gender(P=0.001)with anti-dsDNA which is also *** prevalence was found below the mean age of 38 years(SD±16.635)for ANA antibodies and the mean age of 35 years(SD±15.066)for ds-DNA *** age of ANA antibodies and dsDNA antibodies positive patients ranged from 1 year old to 98 years old and 2 years old to 95 years old *** the second(autoimmunity-free)control group,a total of 468 samples were tested for ANA antibodies and 9(2%)were found ***

Multimodal medical image fusion has attained immense popularity in recent years due to its robust technology for clinical *** fuses multiple images into a single image to improve the quality of images by retaining significant information and aiding diagnostic practitioners in diagnosing and treating many ***,recent image fusion techniques have encountered several challenges,including fusion artifacts,algorithm complexity,and high computing *** solve these problems,this study presents a novel medical image fusion strategy by combining the benefits of pixel significance with edge-preserving processing to achieve the best fusion ***,the method employs a cross-bilateral filter(CBF)that utilizes one image to determine the kernel and the other for filtering,and vice versa,by considering both geometric closeness and the gray-level similarities of neighboring pixels of the images without smoothing *** outputs of CBF are then subtracted from the original images to obtain detailed *** further proposes to use edge-preserving processing that combines linear lowpass filtering with a non-linear technique that enables the selection of relevant regions in detailed images while maintaining structural *** regions are selected using morphologically processed linear filter residuals to identify the significant regions with high-amplitude edges and adequate *** outputs of low-pass filtering are fused with meaningfully restored regions to reconstruct the original shape of the *** addition,weight computations are performed using these reconstructed images,and these weights are then fused with the original input images to produce a final fusion result by estimating the strength of horizontal and vertical *** standard quality evaluation metrics with complementary properties are used for comparison with existing,well-known algorithms objectively to validate the fusion *** results from th

Conservation agriculture seeks to reduce environmental degradation through sustainable management of agricultural *** the 1990s,agricultural research has been conducted using remote sensing technologies;however,few previous reviews have been conducted focused on different conservation management *** of the previous literature has focused on the application of remote sensing in agriculture without focusing exclusively on conservation practices,with some only providing a narrative review,others using biophysical remote sensing for quantitative estimates of the bio-geo-chemical-physical properties of soils and crops,and few others focused on single agricultural management *** paper used the preferred reporting items for systematic review(PRISMA)methodology to examine the last 30 years of thematic research,development,and trends associated with remote sensing technologies and methods applied to conservation agriculture research at various spatial and temporal scales.A set of predefined key concepts and keywords were applied in three databases:Scopus,Web of Science,and Google Scholar.A total of 188 articles were compiled for initial examination,where 68 articles were selected for final analysis and grouped into cover crops,crop residue,crop rotation,mulching,and tillage *** on conservation agriculture research using remote sensing have been increasing since 1991 and peaked at 10 publications in *** the 68 articles,94%used a pixel-based,while only 6%used an object-based classification *** to 2005,tillage practices were abundantly studied,then crop residue was a focused theme between 2004 and *** 2012 to 2020,the focus shifted again to cover *** spectral indices were used in 76%of the 68 *** examination offered a summary of the new potential and identifies crucial future research needs and directions that could improve the contribution of remote sensing to the provision of long-term operat

Topological defects on solutions of the non-relativistic equation for extended double ring-shaped potential

In this study, we focus into the non-relativistic wave equation described by the Schr?dinger equation, specifically considering angular-dependent potentials within the context of a topological defect background generated by a cosmic string. Our primary goal is to explore quasi-exactly solvable problems by introducing an extended ring-shaped potential. We utilize the Bethe ansatz method to determine the angular solutions, while the radial solutions are obtained using special functions. Our findings demonstrate that the eigenvalue solutions of quantum particles are intricately influenced by the presence of the topological defect of the cosmic string,resulting in significant modifications compared to those in a flat space background. The existence of the topological defect induces alterations in the energy spectra, disrupting ***, we extend our analysis to study the same problem in the presence of a ring-shaped potential against the background of another topological defect geometry known as a point-like global monopole. Following a similar procedure, we obtain the eigenvalue solutions and analyze the results. Remarkably, we observe that the presence of a global monopole leads to a decrease in the energy levels compared to the flat space results. In both cases, we conduct a thorough numerical analysis to validate our findings.
