Resilience effects for household food expenditure and dietary diversity in rural western China

A more resilient livelihood is increasingly recognized as an efficient way to improve vulnerable households’food security and optimize their dietary *** study quantifies rural household resilience in western China,identifies the three pillars(absorptive capacity,adaptive capacity,and transformative capacity)contribution to resilience,and then establishes the estimated Resilience Capacity Index(RCI)linked with food security and dietary diversity supported by the multiple indicator multiple cause(MIMIC)*** show that,despite geographical heterogeneity,the RCI consistently increased from 2015 to *** with a higher RCI inheriting better capacity to deal with risk and shocks are significantly and positively correlated with increasing food expenditure and diversifying food *** can be because resilient households will allocate more money to food expenditure instead of saving for livelihood ***,policymakers can provide more incentives for rural households to adopt more dynamic and effective risk management ***,in turn,could yield positive spillover effects by preventing human capital loss associated with dietary-related chronic diseases and mortality.

While agricultural green development(AGD)is highly recognized and has become a national strategy in China,it is imperative to bridge the knowledge gaps between AGD and the UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),and to evaluate the contribution of AGD to meeting the *** first aim of this study was to compare the AGD goals and indicators with those of the SDGs so as to identify their *** next aim was to examine the historical evolution of AGD indicators and analyze the gaps between the current status of various indicators and their *** factors were identified in China's transition toward *** findings reveal that the indicators of AGD align with those of the SDGs,but have greater specificity to the context in China and are more *** has been a significant increase per capita calorie and protein intakes in China,as well as a notable rise in agricultural output per unit of arable land and rural incomes from 1980 to the ***,these achievements have been accompanied by a high resource use and environmental pollution,highlighting the need for a more sustainable,environmentally responsible agriculture in China.

To solve the problems of excessive soil lumps,broken branches and seedlings in pods and difficulty in removing impurities in the harvested pods of peanuts in the hilly areas of southern China,which is due to the high soil viscosity and easy hardening,and to improve the soil removal effect of the peanut half-feed pod picker in hilly areas of China,this article designed a half-feed peanut-cleaning picker suitable for southern clay hilly areas and provided a detailed introduction to the overall structure,working principle,and adjustment methods of various operating *** field measurement experiments,the influencing factors and laws of soil removal performance indicators,such as the comprehensive soil removal rate and POD drop rate,were *** results showed that the comprehensive soil removal rate gradually increased with increasing soil patting frequency,soil patting amplitude,and picking roller speed,first increased and then decreased with increasing picking roller gap and gradually decreased with increasing soil patting plate gap and clamping conveyor chain *** comprehensive soil removal rate of the soil patting plate using the opposite patting method was greater than that of the swinging patting *** soil removal pod drop rate increased gradually with increasing soil patting frequency and amplitude and decreased with increasing soil patting plate gap and clamping conveyor chain *** soil removal pod drop rate of the soil patting plate using swing patting was lower than that using the opposite patting *** speed and gap of the picking roller had no effect on the soil removal pod drop *** frequency,amplitude,form,and gap of the soil patting plate had extremely significant impacts on the rate of decrease in the number of soil removal pod drop *** clamping conveyor chain speed had a significant impact,while the speed and gap of the picking roller had no significant *** influence of all factors on the comprehens

Due to the small models and compact structures,small harvesters have also caused problems such as poor threshing separation performance and large loss *** order to solve unstable cleaning effects of small harvesters when they facing different working conditions,this study selected rice plants in hilly areas for the *** breaking force of different parts of mature rice was tested,which revealed the fracture mechanism of each part under the combined *** threshing method was used to simulate artificial plate bin and design three kinds of non-circular pulley variable speed transmission threshing *** the help of transient inertia force,threshing force was *** paper tested the harvesting performance of the variable speed threshing device with the help of the harvest performance *** show when facing the small rice planting area,the T/2 variable speed threshing device has better cleaning performance,and also the harvest loss rate of T/4 variable speed threshing device is the *** with the constant speed threshing device,the impurity content rate of the variable speed threshing device is increased by 0.64%to 8.76%;the loss rate is reduced by 0.45%to 1.79%,which provides a basis for the optimization design of small combine harvester in hilly areas.

Nutrition impacts of non-solid cooking fuel adoption on under-five children in developing countries

This paper examines the nutrition impacts of using non-solid cooking fuel on under-five children in developing *** draw on data from more than 1.12 million children in 62 developing countries from the Demographic and Health Surveys(DHS).Results from both fixed effects(FE)and instrumental variable(IV)estimates show that using non-solid cooking fuel significantly improves the nutrition outcomes of under-five *** with their peers from households mainly using solid fuel,children from households mainly using non-solid fuel exhibit a lower probability of experiencing stunting(by 5.9 percentage points)and being underweight(by 1.2 percentage points).Our further investigation provides evidence for several underlying mechanisms,such as improved indoor air quality,induced reduction in children’s respiratory symptoms,benefits on maternal health,and reduction in maternal time spent on fuel collection or *** analyses suggest that the nutrition benefits of using non-solid cooking fuel are more prominent among boys,children above three years old,and those from households of lower socioeconomic status,rural areas,and Southeast Asia.

Thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) applied in aeroengines tend to be attacked by molten calcia-magnesiaalumino-silicate(CMAS) at high operating ***-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) coatings with quasicolumnar microstructure were fabricated by plasma spray physical vapor deposition(PS-PVD) *** chemic al changes,micros tructural transform ation,mechanical properties and degradation mechanisms of the CM AS-interacted TBCs in the thermal cycling tests were *** YSZ grains were dissolved in the CMAS melts,and then the ZrO_(2) grains were reprecipitated with spherical shape,accompanying with phase transformation from tetragonal(t) to monoclinic(m).The thermal cycling tests reveal that the YSZ coating fails at the early stage due to the attack of *** fractures in intracolumns lead to partial spallation of the *** failure of the coating occurs at the interfaces between thermally grown oxides(TGO) layer and YSZ topcoat;especially,the hardness and Young's modulus of the YSZ coatings increase intensively,as the coatings were infiltrated by the CMAS for a long time.

Temporal and spatial evolution of global major grain trade patterns

The complex and volatile international landscape has significantly impacted global grain supply security. This study uses a complex network analysis model to examine the evolution and trends of the global major grain trade from 1990 to 2020, focusing on network topology, centrality ranking, and community structure. There are three major findings. First, the global major grain trade network has expanded in scale, with a growing emphasis on diversification and balance. During the study period, the United States, Canada, China, and Brazil were the core nodes of the network. Grain-exporting countries were mainly situated in Asia, the Americas, and Europe, and importing countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Second, a significant increase in the number of high centrality countries with high export capacity occurred, benefiting from natural advantages such as fertile land and favorable climates. Third, the main global grain trade network is divided into four communities, with the Americas-Europe community being the largest and most widespread. The formation of the community pattern was influenced by geographic proximity, driven by the core exporting countries. Therefore, the world needs to enhance the existing trade model, promote the multi-polarization of the grain trade network, and establish a global vision for the future community. Countries and regions should participate actively in global grain trade security governance and institutional reform, expand trade links with other countries, and optimize import and export policies to reduce trade risks.

Edible mushrooms are rich in nutrients;however,harvesting mainly relies on manual *** localization of each mushroom is necessary to enable a robotic arm to accurately pick edible *** studies used detection algorithms that did not consider mushroom pixel-level *** these algorithms are combined with a depth map,the information is ***,in instance segmentation algorithms,convolutional neural network(CNN)-based methods are lightweight,and the extracted features are not *** guarantee real-time location detection and improve the accuracy of mushroom segmentation,this study proposed a new spatial-channel transformer network model based on Mask-CNN(SCT-Mask-RCNN).The fusion of Mask-RCNN with the self-attention mechanism extracts the global correlation outcomes of image features from the channel and spatial ***,Mask-RCNN was used to maintain a lightweight structure and extract local features using a spatial pooling pyramidal structure to achieve multiscale local feature fusion and improve detection *** results showed that the SCT-Mask-RCNN method achieved a segmentation accuracy of 0.750 on segm_Precision_mAP and detection accuracy of 0.638 on Bbox_Precision_*** to existing methods,the proposed method improved the accuracy of the evaluation metrics Bbox_Precision_mAP and segm_Precision_mAP by over 2%and 5%,respectively.
