Intelligent lighting has attracted lots of research interests to investigate all the possible schemes to support this need as human has spent more and more time ***-based illumination network is an ideal bearer to carry on this *** this paper,we propose the concept of Internet of Light(IoL)and define its key functionalities by introducing the information and communication technologies to the illumination *** latest research progress on high-speed transmission,resource optimization,and light stroboscopic irradiation experiment based on IoL platform show that IoL can not only provide value-added services such as positioning and information transmission but also act like a sensor network as part of Internet of Things *** confirms that with sensors for different purposes integrated into the lamp,IoL helps people be aware of the environmental changes and make the adjustment accordingly,can provide cost-effective information service for Internet of Things applications,and supports the non-intrusive optical therapy in the future.

Rice with low glutelin content is suitable as functional food for patients affected with diabetes and kidney failure. The fine mapping of the gene(s) responsible for low glutelin content will provide information regarding the distribution of glutelin related genes in rice genome and will generate markers for the selection of low glutelin rice varieties. Following an SDS-PAGE screen of rice germplasm from Taihu Valley of China, Japonica selection W3660 is identified to be a novel mutant characterized with low glutelin content. For fine mapping the mutant gene for low glutelin content, F2 and F3 populations were derived from a cross between W3660 and Jingrennuo. SDS-PAGE analysis of the total endosperm protein showed that the low glutelin content trait was controlled by a single dominant nuclear gene. Genetic mapping, using SSRs, located this gene to chromosome 2, in the region between SSR2-001/SSR2-004 and RM1358. The dis- tances of the two markers to the target gene were 1.1 cM and 3.8 cM respectively. By semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis, the transcripts of GluB4/GluB5 genes located within the region do not change. However, GluB5 gene located proximal to SSR2-001/SSR2-004 was specifically reduced. SSR profiles of seven Japonica varieties were compared with that of W3660 for loci in the relevant genetic region. The markers SSR2-004 and RM1358 were used for marker- assisted selection. The selection efficiencies of SSR2-004 and RM1358 were 96.8% and 92.7% respectively. This provides a standard starting point for the breeding of low glutelin content rice varieties in China.

In the railway transportation industry,fault diagnosis of railway point machines(RPMs) is *** operational vibration signals can reflect the condition of various faults in mechanical devices, vibration sensing and monitoring and more importantly, vibration signal-based fault diagnosis for RPMs have attracted the attention of scholars and engineers. Most vibration signalbased fault-diagnosis methods for RPMs rely on data collected using high-sampling-rate sensors and manual feature extraction, hence are costly and insufficiently *** overcome these shortcomings, we propose a doublescale wide first-layer kernel convolutional neural network(DS-WCNN) for RPMs fault diagnosis using inexpensive and low-sampling-rate vibration sensors. The proposed wide first-layer kernels, which extract features from vibration observations, are particularly suitable for lowsampling-rate signals. Meanwhile, the proposed doublescale structure improves accuracy and noise suppression by combining two types of timescale features. Sufficient experiments, including noise addition and comparison,were conducted to demonstrate the robustness and accuracy of the proposed algorithm.

In the past decades,global land cover datasets have been produced but also been criticized for their low accuracies,which have been affecting the applications of these *** a new global dataset requires a tremendous amount of efforts;however,it is also possible to improve the accuracy of global land cover mapping by fusing the existing datasets.A decision-fuse method was developed based on fuzzy logic to quantify the consistencies and uncertainties of the existing datasets and then aggregated to provide the most certain *** method was applied to produce a 1-km global land cover map(SYNLCover)by integrating five global land cover datasets and three global datasets of tree cover and *** were carried out to assess the quality:1)inter-comparison of the datasets revealed that the SYNLCover dataset had higher consistency than these input global land cover datasets,suggesting that the data fusion method reduced the disagreement among the input datasets;2)quality assessment using the human-interpreted reference dataset reported the highest accuracy in the fused SYNLCover dataset,which had an overall accuracy of 71.1%,in contrast to the overall accuracy between 48.6%and 68.9%for the other global land cover datasets.

A novel test access mechanism （TAM） architecture with multi test-channel （TC） based on IEEE Standard 1500 is proposed instead of the traditional sub-TAM structure. The cost model of an area-time associated test and the corresponding lower bound of system-on-chip （SoC） test time are established based on this TAM architecture. The model provides a more reliable method to control the SoC scheduling and reduces the complexity in related algorithm research. The result based on the area time associated test cost model has been validated using the ITC02 test benchmark.

Tone-3 Accent Realization in Short Chinese Sentences

To investigate how a low tone （tone-3, T3） syllable in Chinese can be perceived to be focal accented or not, a total of 156 sentences containing tone-3 words were synthesized and used as stimuli in a perceptual study. The sentences differed in the falling value between the two high pitches, and in the duration and phonation types of the T3 syllables. Thirty-nine subjects were asked to judge where the focus or accent was for each sentence. The results show that at least three degrees of pitch drop are involved in the focus recognition： a big sized drop of about 10 semitones; a middle sized drop of about 6 semitones; a small sized drop of about 2 semitones. The results suggest that the three sizes of pitch drop have different indications in Chinese intonation, depending on both the tone and the tone combination. In perception, there are various ways to realize tone-3 focus in the Tx-T3-Ty sentences series, but in production or for text-to-speech synthesis, the rule simply is making a middle sized pitch drop with a long and creaky T3 syllable. Similarly, to focus on the low tone syllable in the T3-Tx-Ty sentences, a creaky T3 syllable is essential. However, a long T3 syllable is a strong determinant for a low tone focus in the Tx-Ty-T3 sentences.
