Joint Estimation of SOH and RUL for Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on Improved Twin Support Vector Machineh

Accurately estimating the State of Health(SOH)and Remaining Useful Life(RUL)of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is crucial for the continuous and stable operation of battery management ***,due to the complex internal chemical systems of LIBs and the nonlinear degradation of their performance,direct measurement of SOH and RUL is *** address these issues,the Twin Support Vector Machine(TWSVM)method is proposed to predict SOH and ***,the constant current charging time of the lithium battery is extracted as a health indicator(HI),decomposed using Variational Modal Decomposition(VMD),and feature correlations are computed using Importance of Random Forest Features(RF)to maximize the extraction of critical factors influencing battery performance ***,to enhance the global search capability of the Convolution Optimization Algorithm(COA),improvements are made using Good Point Set theory and the Differential Evolution *** Improved Convolution Optimization Algorithm(ICOA)is employed to optimize TWSVM parameters for constructing SOH and RUL prediction ***,the proposed models are validated using NASA and CALCE lithium-ion battery *** results demonstrate that the proposed models achieve an RMSE not exceeding 0.007 and an MAPE not exceeding 0.0082 for SOH and RUL prediction,with a relative error in RUL prediction within the range of[-1.8%,2%].Compared to other models,the proposed model not only exhibits superior fitting capability but also demonstrates robust performance.

Calibration of the Solar X-ray Detector on-board the Macao Science Satellite-1B for Soft X-ray Detection

The Solar X-ray Detector(SXD) on-board the Macao Science Satellite-1B(MSS-1B) was successfully launched via the Chinese Long March-2C rocket on 21 May 2023, and commenced operations in early June of the same year. The MSS-1B/Soft X-ray Detection Units(SXDUs) employ two silicon drift detectors(SDDs), providing a wide range of energy spectra spanning from 0.7 to 24 keV. Notably, the SXDUs deliver a high-resolution capability of 0.14 keV@5.9 keV and operate with a time cadence of 1 second. Here, we perform thorough calibrations of the MSS-1B/SXDUs, employing a combination of ground experiments and simulations. In addition, quantitative analysis comparing the flux measurements obtained by the MSS-1B/SXDUs to the data collected by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite(GOES), provides compelling evidence of their consistency. Furthermore, the preliminary spectral analysis results showcase the robustness and expected performance of the MSS-1B/SXDUs, unlocking their potential for facilitating the study of dynamic evolution of solar flares. Moreover, the innovative MSS-1B/Solar X-ray Detector facilitates concurrent observations of solar soft and hard X-rays, thereby making valuable contributions to the advancements in solar research.

A Consensus modeling Approach for the Determination of Stratum Corneum Thickness Using In-Vivo Confocal Raman Spectroscopy

The measurement of stratum corneum (SC) thickness from in-vivo Raman water concentration depth profiles is gaining in popularity and appeal due to the availability and ease of use of in-vivo confocal Raman measurement systems. The foundation of these measurements relies on high-quality confocal Raman spectroscopy of skin and the robust numerical analysis of water profiles, which allow for accurate determination of SC thickness. These measurements are useful for studying intrinsic skin hydration profiles at different body sites and for determining hydration properties of skin related to topically applied materials. While the use of high-quality in-vivo Raman instrumentation has become routine and its use for SC thickness measurement widely reported, there is lack of agreement as to the best method of computing SC thickness values from Raman water profiles. Several methods have been proposed and are currently in use for such computations, but none of these methods has been critically evaluated. The work reported in this paper describes a new method for the determination of stratum corneum thickness from in-vivo confocal Raman water profiles. The method represents a consensus approach to the problem, which was found necessary to apply in order to properly model and quantify the large diversity of water profile types encountered in typical in-vivo Raman water measurement. The methodology is evaluated for performance using three criteria: 1) frequency of minimum fitting error on modeling to a standard numerical function;2) frequency of minimum model error for consensus vs. individual SC thickness values;and 3) correlation with reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) values for SC thickness. The correlation study shows this approach to be a reasonable replacement for the more tedious and time-consuming RCM method with R2 = 0.68 and RMS error = 3.7 microns over the three body sites tested (cheek, forearm and leg).

Determination of dosimetric characteristics for ^(125)I seed source with FLUKA code

This work determined a new Monte Carlo code(FLUKA) that can be used to calculate the dosimetric characteristics of seed sources. Dosimetric parameters(dose rate constant, radial dose function, and anisotropy function) of model 6711125 I seed source were calculated with FLUKA. The results were compared to the relative data recommended by AAPM TG43U1: dose rate constant with FLUKA was in agreement with 2.041%;radial dose functions with FLUKA for distances ranging from 0.5 cm to 10 cm, the deviation was less than 5%.Therefore the FLUKA code can be used to calculate the dosimetric characteristics of seed sources.

A Novel Through-the-Wall Imaging Algorithm Combined with Phase Shift Migration and NUFFT

This paper proposes a novel Through wall imaging(TWI) algorithm combined with phase compensation and Nonuniform fast Fourier transform(NUFFT).The wall effect is cancelled with phase compensation,which is implemented by multiplying the conjugated wall transmissivity with the received *** NUFFT technique is implemented to calculate the imaging *** proposed method has two merits:The phase compensation avoids a time-consuming calculation of the incidences angles;the image is reconstructed more accurately and efficiently than the conventional Interpolation-fast Fourier transform(IPFFT) *** new method is implemented on 2D synthetic-generated data and experimental *** results demonstrate that our method generates high quality focused images and achieves target geometrical identification within a very short time.

Computer Control Techniques of Phased Array Radars

The computer control techniques applicable to electronically scanned multifunction radars are presented. The software and hardware architecture for the real time control and the data processing within a phased array radar are described. The software system comprising a number of tasks is written in C language and implemented. The results show that the algorithm for the multitask adaptive scheduling and the multitarget data processing is suitable for multifunction phased array radars.

Recent developments in novel silica-based optical fibers

We have summarized our recent work in the area of novel silica-based optical fibers, which can be classified into two types: silica optical fiber doped with special elements including Bi, Al, and Ce, and micro-structured multi-core fibers. For element-doped optical fiber, the Bi/Al co-doped silica fibers could exhibit a fluorescence spectrum covering the wavelength range between 1000 and 1400 nm with a full width at half maximum(FWHM) of about 150 nm, which enables its use in fiber amplifiers and laser systems. The Ce-doped fiber's center wavelengths of excitation and emission are about 340 and 430 nm, respectively. The sapphire-derived fiber(SDF) with high alumina dopant concentration in the core can form mullite through heating and cooling with arc-discharge treatment. This SDF can be further developed for an intrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometric that can withstand 1200 ℃, which allows it to be used in high-temperature sensing applications. Owing to the strong evanescent field, microstructured multi-core fiber can be used in a wide range of applications in biological fiber optic sensing, chemical measurement, and interference-related devices. Coaxial-core optical fiber is another novel kind of silica-based optical fiber that has two coaxial waveguide cores and can be used for optical trapping and micro-particle manipulation by generating a highly focused conical optical field. The recent developments of these novel fibers are discussed.

Numerical simulation study of ionization characteristics of argon dielectric barrier discharge

In order to better analyze the characteristics of particle distribution and its influencing factors in the ionized space during the process of coaxial dielectric barrier discharge,a self-designed two-dimensional axisymmetric structure exciter was used to carry out optical diagnosis,with the electron temperature calculated through Gaussian fitting.A plasma model was applied to conduct research on the discharge process through numerical simulation,with the changes in electron density and electron temperature were analyzed by using different discharge *** research results show that with an increase in discharge voltage,pressure inside the reactor and relative permittivity,the discharge process is *** addition,a rise in current density leads to an increase in the number of charged particles on the surface of the medium during the discharge process,while a rise in discharge intensity causes an increase in the electron *** temperature decreases due to the increased loss of collision energy between *** results were confirmed by comparing experimental data with simulation results.

Broadband Acoustic Vibration Sensor Based on Cladding-Mode Resonance of Double-Cladding Fiber

We have proposed and demonstrated a double-cladding fiber (DCF) with cladding?mode resonance property for broadband acoustic vibration sensing. Since the fundamental mode in the core waveguide is able to be coupled to LP05 mode in the tube waveguide once the phase-matching condition is fulfilled, the transmission spectrum can exhibit a dip with a large extinction ratio. An acoustic vibration could induce the wavelength shift of such transmission spectrum, so that the intensity variation at a wavelength near the dip is coded with the information of the acoustic vibration signal. By demodulating the response of intensity variation, the frequency of the applied acoustic vibration signal can be recovered. Such a DCF-based sensor with an intensity modulation could measure the acoustic vibration with a broadband frequency range from 1 Hz to 400 kHz and exhibits the maximum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of ?80.79 dB when the vibration frequency is 20 kHz. The obtained results show that the proposed DCF-based acoustic vibration sensor has a potential application in environmental assessment, structural damage detection, and health monitoring.
