Zn1-xCoxO films were grown on glass by sol-gel spin coating process. A homogeneous and stable Zn1-xCoxO sol was prepared by dissolving zinc acetate dihydrate, cobalt acetate tetrahydrate and aluminium chloride hexahydrate as solutes in solution of isopropanol and monoethanolamine. The films were postheated and vacuum annealed, and investigated for c-axis preferred orientation and electromagnetic properties. Zn1-xCoxO films with different Co concentrations were oriented well along the c-axis, especially the Zn1-xCoxO film with 10% Co(atom fraction) was highly c-axis oriented. The transmittance spectra show that Zn1-xCoxO films occur d-d transition and sp-d exchange interaction between Co2+ ions. The electrical resistivity of the films at 10% Co had the lowest value because the crystallite size became largest and the crystallinity of the c-axis was improved. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and alternating gradient magnetometer analyses indicated that no Co metal cluster was formed, and the ferromagnetism at room temperature appeared. The characteristics of the electrical resistivity and room temperature ferromagnetism of sol-gel derived Zn1-xCoxO films suggest a potential application of dilute magnetic semiconductor devices.

Near-net shape processing of spherical high Nb-TiAl alloy powder by gelcasting

Spherical Ti-45A1-8.5Nb-（W,B,Y） alloy powder prepared by an argon plasma process was near-net shape by gelcasting. In the non-aqueous system, methaerylate-2-hydroxy ethyl, toluene, benzoyl peroxide, and N,N-dimethylaniline were used as the monomer, solvent, initiator, and catalyst, respectively. To improve sintering and forming behaviors, many additives were included in the suspension. The concentrated suspension with a solid loading of 70vo1% was prepared. The high Nb-TiA1 powder was analyzed by electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. It was found that the green bodies had a smooth surface and homogeneous microstructure, exhibiting a bending strength as high as 50 MPa. After sintering at 1480℃ for 2 h in vacuum, uniform complex-shaped high Nb-TiA1 parts were successfully produced.

Preparation of TiAl alloy powder by high-energy ball milling and diffusion reaction at low temperature

In this paper, TiAl alloy powders were prepared successfully by high-energy ball milling and diffusion reaction in vacuum at low temperature. The titanium powder, aluminum powder, and titanium hydride powder were used as raw materials. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, field-emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）, and differential thermal analysis（DTA）. The results show that the alloy powders with the main intermetallic compounds of TiAl are obtained using Ti-Al powders and TiH2-Al powders after heated for 2 h at 500 ℃,3 h at 600 ℃,and 3 h at 750 ℃,*** average grain sizes of alloy powder are about 45 and20 μm with irregular shape, respectively. The prepared TiAl alloy powders are relatively pure, and the average quality content of oxygen in the alloy powders is0.33 wt%. The forming process of alloy powder contains both the diffusion reaction of Ti and Al,which gives priority to the diffusion reaction of aluminum.

Effect of oxygen precipitates in solar grade silicon on minority carrier lifetime and efficiency of solar cells

The effect of oxygen precipitates on minority carrier lifetime and performance of solar cell was studied by means of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), quasi-steady state photoconductance (QSSPCD), optical microscope, spectrum response and solar cell efficiency test. The minority carrier lifetime and performance of solar cell reduced depend on oxygen precipitates. A few of oxygen precipitates have formed after single-step annealing; and they do not impact the efficiency dramatically. Pre-annealing at 650 ℃ for 4 h enhances the oxygen precipitation when it is subjected to middle temperature annealing. The solar cells performance decayed sharply. Especially annealing at 950 ℃ for 3 h, the Vos and Isc of cells decrease 12% and 25% respectively. Few oxygen precipitates have formed in silicon after high temperature annealing at about 1050 ℃ whether pre-annealing is used or not, and the performance of cells is not be affected.

Improved Plasticity and Cold-rolling Workability of Fe–6.5wt%Si Alloy by Warm-rolling with Gradually Decreasing Temperature

The effects of warm-rolling process on the microstructure, ordering, mechanical properties and cold- rolling workability of ***%Si alloy were investigated, where three processes of warm-rolling with the same total reduction of 93% were used, including （1） 500 ℃/12 passes/total reduction of 93%, （2） 500 ℃13 passes/total reduction of 50% ＋ 400 ℃19 passes/total reduction of 86%, and （3） 500 ℃13 passes/total reduction of 50% ＋ 400 ℃15 passes/total reduction of 60% ＋ 300 ℃14 passes/total reduction of 64%. The results show that compared with process （1） warm-rolling with constant temperature of 500 ℃, process （2） and process （3） warm-rolling with gradually decreasing temperature can significantly improve the room temperature plasticity and cold-rolling workability of the Fe-6.5wt%Si alloy. For example, the three point bending fracture deflections are increased by 54.5% and 81.8% for processes （2） and （3）, respectively, and the maximum reductions of single pass cold-rolling without edge crack are increased from 50% of process （1） to 55% of process （2） and 62% of process （3）, respectively. The plasticity improvement of the Fe- 6.5wt%Si alloy can be attributed to both reductions of surface oxidation degree and order degree of the alloy by warm-rolling with gradually decreasing temperature.

Multi-objective modeling and optimization for scheduling of cracking furnace systems

Cracking furnace is the core device for ethylene production. In practice, multiple ethylene furnaces are usually run in parallel. The scheduling of the entire cracking furnace system has great significance when multiple feeds are simultaneously processed in multiple cracking furnaces with the changing of operating cost and yield of product. In this paper, given the requirements of both profit and energy saving in actual production process, a multi-objective optimization model contains two objectives, maximizing the average benefits and minimizing the average coking amount was proposed. The model can be abstracted as a multi-objective mixed integer non- linear programming problem. Considering the mixed integer decision variables of this multi-objective problem, an improved hybrid encoding non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with mixed discrete variables （MDNSGA-II） is used to solve the Pareto optimal front of this model, the algorithm adopted crossover and muta- tion strategy with multi-operators, which overcomes the deficiency that normal genetic algorithm cannot handle the optimization problem with mixed variables. Finally, using an ethylene plant with multiple cracking furnaces as an example to illustrate the effectiveness of the scheduling results by comparing the optimization results of multi-objective and single objective model.

Simulation of macrosegregation in a 36-t steel ingot using a multiphase model

Macrosegregation is the major defect in large steel ingots caused by solute partitioning and melt convection during *** this study,a three-phase(liquid,columnar dendrites,and equiaxed grains)model is proposed to simulate macrosegregation in a 36-t steel ingot.A supplementary set of conservation equations are employed in the model such that two types of equiaxed grains,either settling or adhering to the solid shell,are well *** predicted concentration agrees quantitatively with the experimental value.A negative segregation cone was located at the bottom owing to the grain settlement and solute-enriched melt leaving from the mushy *** interdendritic liquid flow was carefully analyzed,and the formation of A-type segregations in the mid-height of the ingot is *** segregation was observed near the riser neck due to the specific relationship between flow direction and temperature ***,the as-cast macrostructure of the ingot is presented,including the grain size distribution and columnar–equiaxed transition.

The feasibility of manufacturing Ti-6Al-4V samples through a combination of laser-aided additive manufacturing with powder(LAAM_(p))and wire(LAAM_(w))was explored.A process study was first conducted to successfully circumvent defects in Ti-6Al-4V deposits for LAAM_(p) and LAAM_(w),*** the optimized process parameters,robust interfaces were achieved between powder/wire deposits and the forged substrate,as well as between powder and wire *** characterization results revealed the epitaxial prior β grains in the deposited Ti-6Al-4V,wherein the powder deposit was dominated by a finerα′microstructure and the wire deposit was characterized by lamellar α *** mechanisms of microstructure formation and correlation with mechanical behavior were analyzed and *** mechanical properties of the interfacial samples can meet the requirements of the relevant Aerospace material Specifications(AMS 6932)even without post heat *** fracture occurred within the interfacial area,further suggesting the robust *** findings of this study highlighted the feasibility of combining LAAM_(p) and LAAM_(w) in the direct manufacturing of Ti-6Al-4V parts in accordance with the required dimensional resolution and deposition rate,together with sound strength and ductility balance in the as-built condition.

A Modified Outlier Detection Method in Dynamic Data Reconciliation

Data reconciliation technology can decrease the level of corruption of process data due to measurement noise, but the presence of outliers caused by process peaks or unmeasured disturbances will smear the reconciled results. Based on the analysis of limitation of conventional outlier detection algorithms, a modified outlier detection method in dynamic data reconciliation (DDR) is proposed in this paper. In the modified method, the outliers of each variable are distinguished individually and the weight is modified accordingly. Therefore, the modified method can use more information of normal data, and can efficiently decrease the effect of outliers. Simulation of a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) process verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
