Optimal bundles for sponsored search auctions via bracketing scheme

Sponsored search auction has been recently studied and auctioneer's revenue is an important consideration in probabilistic single-item second-price auctions. Some papers have analyzed the revenue maximization problem on different methods to bundle contexts. In this paper, we propose a more flexible and natural method which is called the bracketing method. We prove that finding a bracketing scheme that maximizes the auctioneer's revenue is strongly NP-hard. Then, a heuristic algorithm is given. Experiments on three test cases show that the revenue of the optimal bracketing scheme is very close to the optimal revenue without any bundling constraint, and the heuristic algorithm performs very well. Finally, we consider a simpler model that for each row in the valuation matrix, the non-zero cells have the same value. We prove that the revenue maximization problem with Kanonymous signaling scheme and cardinality constrained signaling scheme in this simpler model are both NP-hard.

The goal of qubit mapping is to map a logical circuit to a physical device by introducing additional gates as few as possible in an acceptable amount of *** present an effective approach called Tabu Search Based Adjustment(TSA)algorithm to construct the *** consists of two key steps:one is making use of a combined subgraph isomorphism and completion to initialize some candidate mappings,and the other is dynamically modifying the mappings by *** experiments show that,compared with state-of-the-art methods,TSA can generate mappings with a smaller number of additional gates and have better scalability for large-scale circuits.

The Internet of Things(IoT)can realize the interconnection of people,machines,and things anytime,*** of the existing research mainly focuses on the practical applications of IoT,and there is a lack of research on modeling and reasoning about IoT systems from the perspective of formal ***,the Calculus of the Internet of Things(CaIT)has been proposed to specify and analyze IoT systems before the actual implementation,which can effectively improve development efficiency,and enhance system quality and *** verify the correctness of IoT systems described by CaIT,this paper presents a proof system for CaIT,in which specifications and verifications are based on the extended Hoare Logic with ***,we explore the cooperation between isolated proofs to validate the postconditions of the communication actions occurring in these proofs,with a particular focus on broadcast *** also demonstrate the soundness of our proof system.A simple“smart home”is given to illustrate the availability of our proof system.

Privacy protection is the key to maintaining the Internet of Things(IoT)communication *** is an important way to achieve covert communication that protects user data *** technology is the key to checking steganography security,and its ultimate goal is to extract embedded *** methods cannot extract under known cover *** this end,this paper proposes a method of extracting embedded messages under known cover ***,the syndrome-trellis encoding process is ***,a decoding path in the syndrome trellis is obtained by using the stego sequence and a certain parity-check matrix,while the embedding process is simulated using the cover sequence and parity-check *** the decoding path obtained by the stego sequence and the correct parity-check matrix is optimal and has the least distortion,comparing the path consistency can quickly filter the coding parameters to determine the correct matrices,and embedded messages can be extracted *** proposed method does not need to embed all possible messages for the second time,improving coding parameter recognition *** experimental results show that the proposed method can identify syndrome-trellis coding parameters in stego images embedded by adaptive steganography quickly to realize embedded message extraction.

Cooperative computing Techniques for a Deeply Fused and Heterogeneous Many-Core Processor Architecture

Due to advances in semiconductor techniques, many-core processors have been widely used in high performance computing. However, many applications still cannot be carried out efficiently due to the memory wall, which has become a bottleneck in many-core processors. In this paper, we present a novel heterogeneous many-core processor architecture named deeply fused many-core （DFMC） for high performance computing systems. DFMC integrates management processing ele- ments （MPEs） and computing processing elements （CPEs）, which are heterogeneous processor cores for different application features with a unified ISA （instruction set architecture）, a unified execution model, and share-memory that supports cache coherence. The DFMC processor can alleviate the memory wall problem by combining a series of cooperative computing techniques of CPEs, such as multi-pattern data stream transfer, efficient register-level communication mechanism, and fast hardware synchronization technique. These techniques are able to improve on-chip data reuse and optimize memory access performance. This paper illustrates an implementation of a full system prototype based on FPGA with four MPEs and 256 CPEs. Our experimental results show that the effect of the cooperative computing techniques of CPEs is significant, with DGEMM （double-precision matrix multiplication） achieving an efficiency of 94%, FFT （fast Fourier transform） obtaining a performance of 207 GFLOPS and FDTD （finite-difference time-domain） obtaining a performance of 27 GFLOPS.

A Large-Scale Study of Failures on Petascale Supercomputers

With the rapid development of supercomputers, the scale and complexity are ever increasing, and the reliability and resilience are faced with larger challenges. There are many important technologies in fault tolerance, such as proacrive failure avoidance technologies based on fault prediction, reactive fault tolerance based on checkpoint, and scheduling technologies to improve reliability. Both qualitative and quantitative descriptions on characteristics of system faults are very critical for these technologies, This study analyzes the source of failures on two typical petascale supercomputers called Sunway BlueLight （based on multi-core CPUs） and Sunway TaihuLight （based on heterogeneous manycore CPUs）. It uncovers some interesting fault characteristics and finds unknown correlation relationship among main components＇ faults. Finally the paper analyzes the failure time of the two supercomputers in various grains of resource and different time spans, and builds a uniform multi-dimensional failure time model for petascale supereomputers.

Multifunctional intelligent fabric plays an integral role in health management,human–machine interaction,wireless energy storage and conversion,and many other artificial intelligence ***,we demonstrate a newly developed MXene/polyaniline(PANI)multifunctional fabric integrated with strain sensing,electrochemical energy storage,and electromagnetic shielding *** multifunctional fabric-based strain sensor possesses a real-time signal response at a sizeable tensile strain of 100%with a minute strain of 0.5%,maintaining a stable and consistent signal response even after 3000 stretch–release *** addition,the multifunctional fabric exhibits excellent electromagnetic shielding capabilities,achieving a total shielding effectiveness value of up to 43 dB,and in the meantime shows attractive electrochemical energy storage performance as an electrode in a supercapacitor,offering a maximum specific capacity and energy density of 522.5 mF·cm^(−2)and 18.16μWh·cm^(−2),*** a multifunctional intelligent fabric offers versatile opportunities to develop smart clothes for various artificial intelligent applications.

Spatiotemporal characteristics and influencing factors of vegetation water use efficiency on the Tibetan Plateau in 2001–2020

Water use efficiency （WUE）,as a pivotal indicator of the coupling degree within the carbon–water cycle of ecosystems,holds considerable importance in assessment of the carbon–water balance within terrestrial ***,in the context of global warming,WUE evolution and its primary drivers on the Tibetan Plateau remain *** study employed the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method and the random forest algorithm to decipher the nonlinear trends and drivers of WUE on the Tibetan Plateau in 2001–*** indicated an annual mean WUE of 0.8088 gC/mm·m2across the plateau,with a spatial gradient reflecting decrease from the southeast toward the *** manifesting monotonous trends of increase or decrease in WUE accounted for 23.64%and 9.69%of the total,***,66.67%of the region exhibited trend reversals,i.e.,39.94%of the area of the Tibetan Plateau showed transition from a trend of increase to a trend of decrease,and 26.73%of the area demonstrated a shift from a trend of decrease to a trend of *** factors accounted for 70.79%of the variability in *** leaf area index and temperature served as the major driving forces of WUE variation.
