Emerging byte-addressable non-volatile memory(NVM)technologies offer higher density and lower cost than DRAM,at the expense of lower performance and limited write *** have been many studies on hybrid NVM/DRAM memory management in a single physical ***,it is still an open problem on how to manage hybrid memories efficiently in a distributed *** paper proposes Alloy,a memory resource abstraction and data placement strategy for an RDMA-enabled distributed hybrid memory pool(DHMP).Alloy provides simple APIs for applications to utilize DRAM or NVM resource in the DHMP,without being aware of the hardware details of the *** propose a hotness-aware data placement scheme,which combines hot data migration,data replication and write merging together to improve application performance and reduce the cost of *** evaluate Alloy with several micro-benchmark workloads and public benchmark *** results show that Alloy can significantly reduce the DRAM usage in the DHMP by up to 95%,while reducing the total memory access time by up to 57%compared with the state-of-the-art approaches.

Incomplete data accompanies our life processes and covers almost all fields of scientific studies, as a result of delivery failure, no power of battery, accidental loss, etc. However, how to model, index, and query incomplete data in- curs big challenges. For example, the queries struggling with incomplete data usually have dissatisfying query results due to the improper incompleteness handling methods. In this pa- per, we systematically review the management of incomplete data, including modelling, indexing, querying, and handling methods in terms of incomplete data. We also overview sev- eral application scenarios of incomplete data, and summa- rize the existing systems related to incomplete data. It is our hope that this survey could provide insights to the database community on how incomplete data is managed, and inspire database researchers to develop more advanced processing techniques and tools to cope with the issues resulting from incomplete data in the real world.

This paper proposes a new customer lifetime model:the Gamma/Weibull distribution(G/W).Similar to the Pareto/NBD model,we propose a G/W/NBD model by combining the G/W distribution with a negative binomial distribution(NBD)and study its properties such as(i)the probability that a customer to be alive at a time point;(ii)the expectation and variance of the number of transactions for a customer during a fixed time period;(iii)the conditional expectation and conditional variance of the number of future transactions for a customer during a fixed time *** simulation studies are conducted to investigate the forecasting accuracy and flexibility of the proposed model.A CDNOW data set is analyzed by the proposed model.

Protein kinases play an important role in the incidence of neurodegenerative *** their incidence in non-human primates is found to be very *** differences among the genomes might influence the disease *** present study deals with finding the genetic differences of protein kinases in humans and their three closest evolutionary partners chimpanzee,gorilla and orangutan for three neurodegenerative diseases namely,Alzheimer’s,Parkinson’s and Huntington’s *** total 47 human protein kinases associated with three neurodegenerative diseases and their orthologs from other three nonhuman primates were identified and analyzed for any possible susceptibility factors in *** sequence alignment and pairwise sequence alignment revealed that,18 human protein kinases including DYRK1A,RPS6KB1,and GRK6 contained significant indels and *** phosphorylation site analysis revealed that eight kinases including MARK2 and LTK contained sites of phosphorylation exclusive to human genomes which could be particular candidates in determining disease susceptibility between human and non-human *** pathway analysis of these eight kinases and their targets revealed that these kinases could have long range consequences in important signaling pathways which are associated with neurodegenerative diseases.

Reachability query plays a vital role in many graph analysis *** researches proposed many methods to efficiently answer reachability queries between vertex *** many real graphs are labeled graph,it highly demands label-Constrained Reachability(LCR)query inwhich constraint includes a set of labels besides vertex *** researches proposed several methods for answering some LCR queries which require appearance of some labels specified in constraints in the *** that constraint may be a label set,query constraint may be ordered labels,namely OLCR(Ordered-label-Constrained Reachability)queries which retrieve paths matching a sequence of ***,no solutions are available for ***,we propose DHL,a novel bloom filter based indexing technique for answering OLCR *** can be used to check reachability between vertex *** the answers are not no,then constrained DFS is ***,we employ DHL followed by performing constrained DFS to answer OLCR *** show that DHL has a bounded false positive rate,and it's powerful in saving indexing time and *** experiments on 10 real-life graphs and 12 synthetic graphs demonstrate that DHL achieves about 4.8-22.5 times smaller index space and 4.6-114 times less index construction time than two state-of-art techniques for LCR queries,while achieving comparable query response *** results also show that our algorithm can answer OLCR queries effectively.

A regional ocean reanalysis system for the coastal waters of China and adjacent seas has been developed by the National Marine data and Information Service（NMDIS）.It produces a dataset package called CORA （China ocean reanalysis）.The regional ocean model used is based on the Princeton Ocean Model with a generalized coordinate system（POMgcs）.The model is parallelized by NMDIS with the addition of the wave breaking and tidal mixing processes into model *** assimilation is a sequential three-dimensional variational（3D-Var） scheme implemented within a multigrid *** include satellite remote sensing sea surface temperature（SST）,altimetry sea level anomaly（SLA）,and temperature/salinity *** reanalysis fields of sea surface height,temperature,salinity,and currents begin with January 1986 and are currently updated every year. Error statistics and error distributions of temperature,salinity and currents are presented as a primary evaluation of the reanalysis fields using sea level data from tidal gauges,temperature profiles,as well as the trajectories of Argo *** case studies offer the opportunity to verify the evolution of certain local *** evaluations show that the reanalysis data produced provide a good representation of the ocean processes and phenomena in the coastal waters of China and adjacent seas.

While receiving a certain packet with unknown destination, a router either simply drops it or sends queries around as a *** it sacrifices transmission stability, but sending queries may cause too much *** situation can be seen more frequently in Information-Centric Networking(ICN) since it has a larger namespace for routing *** this paper, we propose the neighboring chunk aware discovery(NCAD), an active discovery strategy for content routing. NCAD can reduce the cost of resolving unknown contents, which is not yet considered by the conventional routing mechanism. The idea behind NCAD is to ask the nodes to report back more possession information about the queried content in prediction of later use. To this end, we de-sign NCAD with several different considerations,and balance the tradeoff between effectiveness in conjunction with the overhead to achieve optima on the whole. Extensive experiments are conducted on a small typical topology and a large real-world Internet AS-level *** results show an overall superiority of NCAD in terms of both effectiveness and overhead.
