Objective:The aim of present study is to identify the breast cancer screening barriers among the women with breast cancer of Malwa region of Punjab,India.The study was conducted at three government hospitals representing almost all districts of Malwa region.Methods:The quantitative research design was followed using empirical research methods.Study was carried out by one-to-one interview by the field investigator and research assistant.Total of 363 breast cancer patient has been interviewed through the scheduled questionnaire and results has been recorded for further analysis.In this study,five barriers are described namely as personal barriers,socio-cultural barriers,economic barriers,healthsystem barriers,and treatment barriers which contains various questions regarding barriers to breast cancer screening.Univariate analysis methods have been used for the analysis to access the socio-demographic profile of women.Data has been obtained with the help of 5-point liker scale.Binary logistic model was chosen.Results:Majority of participants were in the age groups 50-60 years(31.1%,112/363).Majority of these women(47.4%,171/363)were illiterate and most of them were housewives.The major barriers to breast cancer screening faced by most of the women were having no knowledge about screening services(90.9%,329/363),the importance of early diagnosis(90.9%,329/363),different screening methods(95.5%,347/363)and place of availing screening services(91.2%,330/363)misguided belief in God and fate(81.5%,295/363)and preferring duties than taking care of health(70.2%,254/363).Education qualification(odds ratio[OR]0.74,β'=-0.309,t=-5.357,P=0.000)and socioeconomic class(OR 1.43,β’=0.354,t=3.399,P=0.001)were found to be significant determinant of the barriers among women.Conclusion:The survey was conducted in the women between the age 40-60 years and as an outcome,the unawareness about screening services,fatalistic attitude,fear of being diagnosed with the cancer,low per capita income was found out signif

Micropropagation protocol for Salvadora oleoides

Salvadora oleoides Decne. is a pharmaceutically important plant. Owing to poor seed formation, viability and, germination, and to anthropogenic disturbances, this species is on the verge of extinction. A reproducible micropropagation protocol to increase the population through tissue culture has been standardized and the results are reported here. Callus tissues were initiated from young leaves and stem explants. Leaf calluses proliferated with 1.5 mg/L BAP and 0.9 mg/L 2, 4-D with additives and continuous slow proliferation up to 15 weeks on 0.5 mg/L BAP and additives with 200 mg/L activated charcoal.Direct shoot initiation took place from stem node explants after 12 days; 4–5 shoots per node were produced in 30 days. Shoot clumps elongated and grew further on MS media supplemented with 2 mg/L BAP, 0.2 mg/L NAA and additives, which generated 20–23 shoots. The elongated shoots induced tap roots with 4 mg/L NAA and200 mg/L activated charcoal in 12 days. In vitro raised plants produced secondary roots when transferred to pots containing vermiculite maintained at 28–35 ℃. The plantlets successfully acclimatised in pots containing soil in natural conditions.

Dear Editor, Herbal medicines have been used for prevention and treatment of human diseases and promotion of healthy living. These medicines, often self medicated and consumed as concentrated extracts, are not strictly regulated. Considering their popular use and increasing safety concerns, thorough evaluations of their efficacy and safety are warranted to protect consumers from potential adverse effects. Toxicity tests （acute, sub- acute and chronic） using animals are widely applied to evaulate adverse effects of a drug and thereby determine its ＂No Observed Adverse Effect Level＂（NOAEL）.

BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has brought fundamental changes to our problems and priorities,especially those related to the healthcare sector.India was one of the countries severely affected by the harsh consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.AIM To understand the challenges faced by the healthcare system during a pandemic.METHODS The literature search for this review was conducted using PubMed,EMBASE,Scopus,Web of Science,and Google Scholar.We also used Reference Citation Analysis(RCA)to search and improve the results.We focused on the published scientific articles concerned with two major vital areas:(1)The Indian healthcare system;and(2)COVID-19 pandemic effects on the Indian healthcare system.RESULTS The Indian healthcare system was suffering even before the pandemic.The pandemic has further stretched the healthcare services in India.The main obstacle in the healthcare system was to combat the rising number of communicable as well as noncommunicable diseases.Besides the pandemic measures,there was a diversion of focus of the already established healthcare services away from the chronic conditions and vaccinations.The disruption of the vaccination services may have more severe short and long-term consequences than the pandemic’s adverse effects.CONCLUSION Severely restricted resources limited the interaction of the Indian healthcare system with the COVID-19 pandemic.Re-establishment of primary healthcare services,maternal and child health services,noncommunicable diseases programs,National Tuberculosis Elimination Program,etc.are important to prevent serious long-term consequences of this pandemic.

The network-on-chip(NoC)technology is frequently referred to as a front-end solution to a back-end problem.The physical substructure that transfers data on the chip and ensures the quality of service begins to collapse when the size of semiconductor transistor dimensions shrinks and growing numbers of intellectual property(IP)blocks working together are integrated into a chip.The system on chip(SoC)architecture of today is so complex that not utilizing the crossbar and traditional hierarchical bus architecture.NoC connectivity reduces the amount of hardware required for routing and functions,allowing SoCs with NoC interconnect fabrics to operate at higher frequencies.Ring(Octagons)is a direct NoC that is specifically used to solve the scalability problem by expanding each node in the shape of an octagon.This paper discusses the ring NoC design concept and its simulation in Xilinx ISE 14.7,as well as the communication of functional nodes.For the field-programmable gate array(FPGA)synthesis,the performance of NoC is evaluated in terms of hardware and timing parameters.The design allows 64 to 256 node communication in a single chip with‘N’bit data transfer in the ring NoC.The performance of the NoC is evaluated with variable nodes from 2 to 256 in Digilent manufactured Virtex-5 FPGA hardware.

Breast cancer,also recognized as the principal cause of cancer-related deaths among women,is the second most familiar and prevalent form of cancer.New diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers that are highly specific are urgently needed for its early prognosis.MicroRNAs(miRNAs),a class of non-coding RNAs,are known to control the biological processes involving transcription,post-transcriptional and covalent modifications,splicing,translation,cell differentiation,proliferation,apoptosis,cancer progression,and invasion.Any dysregulation in miRNA expression,demonstrating their oncogenic and tumor-suppressive functions,contributes to cancer progression.MicroRNA-21(miR-21),an‘onco-miR’in breast cancer,is involved in tumor progression and metastasis by suppressing the activity of the target gene via its interaction with the 3’UTR of the target gene.The upregulation of miR-21 is observed in many instances of breast cancer.Our review aims to summarize the current understanding of miR-21 in the regulation of important cellular functions via regulation of its target genes.We discuss its biosynthesis,oncogenic function in breast cancer,and different methods used for its detection.This will increase the current understanding of the role of miR-21 in breast cancer tumorigenesis,which will offer a perception of using miR-21 as an early detection molecular prognostic and diagnostic biomarker and as a therapeutic target in breast cancer care.

MicroRNA-153(miR-153),belongs toa dass of small non-coding RNA.It is a aritical regulator of gene expression at the post-transcriptional lewel which interacts with the functional mRNA at 3UTR rgion and suppresses the expression of the mRNA.More recently,it has become apparent that dhanges in the miR-153 axpression lead to invasion,metastasis,angiogenesis and various types of tumor progression.This review summarizes the connection between dysrgulation of miR-153 and various typas of cancer progression.miR-153 regulates various signaling pathways to inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis in the ancer cell and also show synergistic activity with anticancer drugs.In addition to this,the oncogenic bchavior of miR-153 and their use as a potential biomarker in cancer was also reviewed.

Performance Analysis of AODV Routing forWireless Sensor Network in FPGA Hardware

Wireless sensor network(WSN)is a group of interconnected sensor nodes that work wirelessly to capture the information of surroundings.The routing of the network is a challenging task.The routing of WSN is classified as proactive,reactive,and hybrid.Adhoc on-demand distance vector(AODV)routing is an example of reactive routing based on the demand route formations among different nodes in the network.The research article emphasizes the design and simulation of the AODV routing hardware chip using very-high-speed integrated circuit hardware description language(VHDL)programming in Xilinx integrated synthesis environment(ISE)14.7 software.The performance of the chip is studied based on the field-programmable gate array(FPGA)hardware parameters such as slices,lookup table(LUTs),input/output block(IOB),flipflops,and memory for the different configurations of the network(N=10,20….100).The delay and frequency are also estimated on the Virtex-5 FPGA.The performance of the WSN with AODV routing is also analyzed based on the packet delivery ratio,throughput,delay,and control overhead.The simulation test cases verified the 8-bit,64-bit,and 128-bit data communication within the nodes.

As different artificial intelligence(AI)techniques continue to evolve,power systems are undergoing significant technological changes with the primary goal of reducing computational time,decreasing utility and consumer costs and ensuring the reliable operation of an electrical power system.AI techniques compute large amounts of data at a faster speed than numerical optimization methods with higher processing speeds.With these features,AI techniques can further automate and increase the performance of power sys-tems.This paper presents a comprehensive overview of diverse AI techniques that can be applied in power system operation,control and planning,aiming to facilitate their various applications.We explained how AI can be used to resolve system frequency changes,maintain the voltage profile to minimize transmission losses,reduce the fault rate and minimize reactive current in distributed sys-tems to increase the power factor and improve the voltage profile.

Hardware Chip Performance of CORDIC Based OFDM Transceiver for Wireless Communication

The fourth-generation(4G)and fifth-generation(5G)wireless communication systems use the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)modulation techniques and subcarrier allocations.The OFDM modulator and demodulator have inverse fast Fourier transform(IFFT)and fast Fourier transform(FFT)respectively.The biggest challenge in IFFT/FFT processor is the computation of imaginary and real values.CORDIC has been proved one of the best rotation algorithms for logarithmic,trigonometric,and complex calculations.The proposed work focuses on the OFDM transceiver hardware chip implementation,in which 8-point to 1024-point IFFT and FFT are used to compute the operations in transmitter and receiver respectively.The coordinate rotation digital computer(CORDIC)algorithm has read-only memory(ROM)-based architecture to store FFT twiddle factors and their angle generators.The address generation unit is required to fetch the data and write the results into the memory in the appropriate sequence.CORDIC provides low memory,delay,and optimized hardware on the field-programmable gate array(FPGA)in comparison to normal FFT architecture for the OFDM system.The comparative performance of the FFT and CORDICFFT based OFDM transceiver chip is estimated using FPGA parameters:slices,flip-flops,lookup table(LUTs),frequency,power,and delay.The design is developed using integrated synthesis environment(ISE)Xilinx version 14.7 software,synthesized using very-high-speed integrated circuit hardware description language(VHDL),and tested on Virtex-5 FPGA.
