Functional dyspepsia is a frequently-encountered clinical syndrome, characterized by fullness and pain in the upper abdomen, belching, sour regurgitation, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, without organic pathologic change, metabolic or psychic diseases. It is closely related with disturbance of gastric motility. Our previous study has indicated that acupuncture has marked therapeutic effects on disturbance of gastric motility. In the present paper, analysis of time-frequency spectrum of EGG was used as indexes, and the clinical therapeutic effects of acupuncture treatment on functional dyspepsia were assessed objectively. The results are reported in the following.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of herb-partitioned moxibustion(HPM) on pain and quality of life in women with ***: Thirty-six patients will be randomly assigned to a treatment group or a wait-list control group. 57 cases of common cold,influenza,acute tonsillitis and acute bronchitis were treated byrapid needling with filiform needles at Dazhui (Du 14),Fengchi(GB 13),and Quchi(LI 11).The indices for observation were first determined,and the 19 cases that manifested an axiilatemperature drop of over 1℃ after treatment and a ratio of0.7 were regarded as *** total effective rate was 80.7%.Analysis of the individual patients indicated that the peripheral blood leucocyte andlymphocyte counts differed insignificantly after needling,while the body temperature,rate ofrespiration,pulse,blood pressure and acupoint temperature all dropped,with a simultaneousincrease in the percentage of *** immediate effects were especially markedin fevers due to exogenous wind and cold.

Acupoint combinations used for treatment of Alzheimer's disease: A data mining analysis

OBJECTIVE: To identify the acupoint combinations used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD).METHODS: The clinical literature regarding acupuncture and moxibustion for AD was searched and collected from databases including Chinese Biomedical Medicine, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database and PubMed. The database of acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions for AD was established by using Excel software so as to conduct the descriptive analysis, association analysis on the ***: Baihui(GV 20), Sishencong(EX-HN 1),Shenmen(HT 7), Zusanli(ST 36), Neiguan(PC 6),Fengchi(GB 20), Taixi(KI 3), Dazhui(GV 14), Shenshu(BL 23), Sanyinjiao(SP 6), Shenting(GV 24), Fenglong(ST 40), Xuanzhong(GB 39), Shuigou(GV 26)and Taichong(LR 3) were of higher frequency in the treatment of AD with acupnucture and moxibustion. Most acupoints were selected from the Governor Vessel. The commonly used acupoints were located on the head, face, neck and lower limbs. The combination of the local acupoints with the distal ones was predominated. The crossing points among the specific points presented the advantage in the treatment. The association analysis indicated that the correlation among Fengchi(GB 20)-Baihui(GV 20) was the strongest, followed by combinations of Dazhui(GV 14)-Baihui(GV 20), Shenshu(BL 23)-Baihui(GV 20) and Neiguan(PC 6)-Baihui(GV 20) and indicated the common rules of the clinical acupoint selection and combination for ***: Our findings provide a reference for acupoints selection and combination for AD in clinical acupuncture practice.

Objective:To explore the relationship between acupoints and the uterus in primary dysmenorrhea(PDM)and observe the effects of electroacupuncture(EA)on NLRP3 inflammasome and morphology of uterine tissues in *** and Methods:Rats were divided into four groups:Control,PDM,EA,and nonacupoint EA(sham)*** reactions in the rats were carefully *** E2(PGE2)and prostaglandin F2α(PGF2α)levels in the rat serum were measured using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** assess the damage,the histomorphology of the rat uterus was examined using the optical and electron *** blotting was performed to determine the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain carboxy-terminal leucine-rich repeat domain and amino-terminal pyrin domaincontaining protein 3(NLRP3),apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),and cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-1(caspase-1),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),and ***:Compared with the control group,the PDM group exhibited significant increases in both writhing times and scores,with a high pathological score of the uterine *** PGF2αlevels were significantly elevated,whereas PGE2 levels were significantly *** addition,the expression levels of NLRP3,ASC,caspase-1,IL-1β,and IL-18 significantly increased(P<0.001).The EA group showed opposite effects from the PDM group(all P<0.05).The sham group exhibited significantly higher writhing time,serum PGF2αlevels,and expression levels of NLRP3,ASC,caspase-1,IL-1β,and IL-18 than the EA *** contrast,serum PGE2 levels in the sham group were significantly lower than those in the EA group(all P<0.05).Conclusions:NLRP3 infiammasome activation in PDM triggers pathological ***(SP6)and Guanyuan(CV4)had specific effects on *** of SP6 and CV4 may treat PDM by inhibiting inflammation and protecting the morphological structure of the uterus.
