Extensive Bi-Atrial Remodeling on Hypertensive Patient with Permanent Atrial Fibrillation Delayed Diagnosis of Fatal Cardiac Lambda Amyloidosis

Background: Amyloidosis is a disease characterized by the deposition of fibrillar proteins in tissues. The nature of the protein defines the type of amyloidosis. Cardiac involvement is most often secondary to deposits of transthyretin and immunoglobulin light chains. Treatment depends on the type of amyloidosis. Cardiac light chain amyloidosis is a medical emergency. Aim: To highlight the importance of an early diagnosis of cardiac light chain amyloidosis. Case Presentation: We report the case of an 88-year-old hypertensive female patient with sustained atrial fibrillation and recurrent heart failure, in whom echocardiography showed concentric left ventricle hypertrophy with mildly reduced left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) to 45%. Bone scintigraphy was normal. Serum analysis showed increased lambda free light chains. Accessory salivary gland biopsy revealed weak Kappa light chain staining and clear overexpression of lambda light chain deposits. The diagnosis of stage 3B cardiac amyloidosis secondary to lambda light chain myeloma was made. After a multidisciplinary meeting, it was decided to start treatment with DARATUMUMAB + leNALIDOMIDE. Patient’s general condition deteriorated with the occurrence of febrile pancytopenia. Chemotherapy was stopped and management was limited to comfort care until the patient’s death. Conclusion: Cardiac light-chain amyloidosis must be diagnosed early as it can be rapidly fatal.

Velocity equation for grenades while impacting on dry sand media

This paper deals with the collision of sphere shape grenades with sand *** central issue of the article is the establishing of an empirical velocity equation of the grenade while impacting on sand that is used to solve motion equations of the mechanical mechanism inside the impact grenade *** paper focuses on impact velocities that are lower than 5 m s^(-1).An experiment was conducted to study the velocity of the grenade while impacting on dry sand.A high-speed camera video was used to capture the grenade *** grenade velocity in the impact process was generated from these video *** types of fitting curves are used to regress the velocity equation of the grenade while interacting with the sand media and the best-fitting model is *** result shows the regression curve has a high correlation with the experiment data for grenade velocities below 5 m s^(-1).The received regression equation is useful for analyzing the working ability of the inertial mechanism inside the impact grenade or analyzing and choosing the appropriate parameters of each part in the inertial mechanism to meet the required characteristics of the mechanism.

Fabrication of micro spherulitic particles of carbamazepine-hesperetin cocrystal via QESD with enhanced manufacturability and dissolution

Granulation is an effective method for improving the flowability of drugs, particularly when they are in needle form. Carbamazepine-hesperetin (CBZ-HPE) cocrystal is a needle-like crystal with low solubility and poor flowability, which limits its application. To address this issue, this study aimed to obtain CBZ-HPE microspheres using the quasi-emulsion solvent diffusion (QESD) technique. The preparation process was monitored using polarized light microscopy, and the formation mechanism was elucidated using the radial distribution function (RDF). The microspheres were extensively characterized using PXRD, DSC, TGA, and SEM. Furthermore, the effects of surfactants, contents, and rotational speeds on the morphology and particle size distribution of microspheres were analyzed to determine the optimal experimental conditions. Based on these findings, naringenin and quercetin, the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine, were chosen to successfully prepare CBZ-HPE multicomponent microspheres. This research provides a foundation for increasing drug powder properties and drug conjugation through the preparation of microspheres.

A predictive model for ethylene-mediated auxin and cytokinin patterning in the Arabidopsis root

The interaction between auxin and cytokinin is important in many aspects of plant *** measurements of both auxin and cytokinin concentration and reporter gene expression clearly show the coexistence of auxin and cytokinin concentration patterning in Arabidopsis root ***,in the context of crosstalk among auxin,cytokinin,and ethylene,little is known about how auxin and cytokinin concentration patterns simultaneously emerge and how they regulate each other in the Arabidopsis *** work utilizes a wide range of experimental observations to propose a mechanism for simultaneous patterning of auxin and cytokinin *** addition to revealing the regulatory relationships between auxin and cytokinin,this mechanism shows that ethylene signaling is an important factor in achieving simultaneous auxin and cytokinin patterning,while also predicting other experimental *** the mechanism with a realistic in silico root model reproduces experimental observations of both auxin and cytokinin *** made by the mechanism can be compared with a variety of experimental observations,including those obtained by our group and other independent experiments reported by other *** of these predictions include patterning of auxin biosynthesis rate,changes in PIN1 and PIN2 patterns in pin3,4,7 mutants,changes in cytokinin patterning in the pls mutant,PLS patterning,and various trends in different *** research reveals a plausible mechanism for simultaneous patterning of auxin and cytokinin concentrations in Arabidopsis root development and suggests a key role for ethylene pattern integration.

Synthetic microporous membranes are increasingly used for energy-efficient and controlled production of micro-and nanoparticles and micro-and nanoemulsions with tuneable morphology and physico-chemical properties through various micromixing,emulsification,and evaporation *** emul-sification processes,the membrane pores are used for dispersed phase injection and size-controlled generation of droplets and droplet-templated *** micromixing processes,membrane is utilised as a micromixer for mixing two miscible liquids,usually solvent and antisolvent-rich solutions,which leads to the creation of supersaturation and subsequent nanoprecipitation or *** mem-brane evaporation processes,membrane is used to prevent phase dispersion while allowing efficient molecular diffusion of solvent and/or antisolvent vapour through gas-filled *** dispersion processes can be operated continuously by decoupling shear stress on the membrane surface from cross flow using tube insets,flow pulsations,swirling flow,membrane oscillations or membrane *** generation and solidification can be performed continuously in a single pass by connecting membrane module with a downstream *** dispersion processes can be used for pro-duction of nanoparticles such as nanovesicles(liposomes,micelles,ethosomes,and niosomes),nanogels,polymeric,lipid and metallic nanoparticles,and *** main advantages of membrane-assisted particle generation are in low energy consumption,controlled geometry and hydrodynamic conditions at the microscale level,flexible throughput due to modular and scalable design of membrane devices,and a wide choice of available microporous membranes with various wall porosities,wetta-bilities,pore sizes,and pore morphologies to suit different applications.

Effect of Recycling Cycles on the Mechanical and Damping Properties of Flax Fibre Reinforced Elium Composite:Experimental and Numerical Studies

This manuscript deals with the effects of recycling on the static and dynamic properties of flax fibers reinforced thermoplastic *** corresponding thermoplastic used in this work is Elium ***’s the first liquid thermoplastic resin that allows the production of recycled composite parts with promising mechanical *** appeared on the resin market in *** until now,no studies were available concerning how it can be recycled and *** this study,a thermocompression recycling process was investigated and applied to Elium *** fiber-reinforced Elium composites were produced using a resin infusion process and were subjected to different thermomechanical recycling *** each material,five recycling operations were carried out on the raw material.A total of 10 different materials were investigated and tested by means of tensile and free vibration tests to evaluate the effect of recycling on their *** addition,a finite element model of the dynamic problem was developed to evaluate the loss factor and natural frequencies regarding different *** results obtained show that the failure tensile properties of Elium resin as well as flax fiber reinforced composites decrease during recycling ***,recycling induces a rise in the elastic ***,improvement in the dynamic stiffness was observed with recycling *** repeated recycling appeared to have negligible effects on the loss factor of the recycled *** results obtained from the experiment and the numerical analyses were in close agreement.

The N,N,N'-ferrous chloride complexes,[2-{CMeN(2,4-(CHPh)_(2)-6-FC_(6)H_(2))}-6-(CMeNAr)C_(5)H_(3)N]FeCl_(2)(Ar=2,6-Me_(2)C_(6)H_(3) Fe1,2,6-Et_(2)C_(6)H_(3)Fe2,2,6-^(i)Pr_(2)C_(6)H_(3) Fe3,2,4,6-Me_(3)C_(6)H_(2) Fe4 and 2,6-Et_(2)-4-MeC_(6)H_(2) Fe5),each possessing one N-2,4-dibenzhydryl-6-fluorophenyl group,were readily synthesized from their respective unsymmetrical bis(imino)pyridines,*** identification of Fe2 highlighted the variation in the steric properties provided by the dissimilar N-aryl *** pre-treatment with either MAO or MMAO,complexes Fe1-Fe5 all displayed,at an operating temperature of 80℃,high activities for ethylene polymerization with levels falling in the order:Fe4> Fe1> Fe5> Fe2> ***,Fe4/MAO displayed the highest activity of 1.94×10^(7) g_(PE)·mol_(Fe)^(-1)·h^(-1) of the study with only a modest loss in performance at 90℃.Generally,the resulting polyethylenes were highly linear(T_(m) range:122-132℃),narrowly disperse and of low molecular weight(M_(w) range:6.73-46.04kg·mol^(-1)),with the most sterically hindered Fe3 forming the highest molecular weight polymer of the ***-group analysis by ^(1)H-and ^(13)CNMR spectroscopy revealed saturated alkyl(n-propyl and i-propyl) and unsaturated vinyl chain ends indicative of the role of both β-H elimination and chain transfer to aluminum as termination *** comparison with previou sly reported iron precatalysts with similar tridentate ligand skeletons,it is evident that the introduction of a large benzhydryl group in combination with a fluorine as the ortho-substituents of one N-aryl group has the effect of enhancing thermal stability of the iron polymerization catalyst whilst maintaining appreciable polymer molecular weight.

On the apparent line-of-sight alignment of the peak X-ray intensity of the magnetosheath and the tangent to the magnetopause,as viewed by SMIle-SXI

The Soft X-ray Imager(SXI)on board the Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMIle)spacecraft will be able to view the Earth’s magnetosheath in soft *** images of the X-ray emission visible from the position of SMIle are created for a range of solar wind densities by using 3 years of the SMIle mission orbit,together with models of the expected X-ray emissivity from the Earth’s *** from global magnetohydrodynamic simulations and a simple model for exospheric neutral densities are used to compare the locations of the lines of sight along which integrated soft X-ray intensities peak with the lines of sight lying tangent to surfaces(defined here to be the magnetopause)along which local soft X-ray intensities peak or exhibit their strongest gradients,or both,for strongly southward interplanetary magnetic field conditions when no depletion or low-latitude boundary layers are ***,in the parameter space of the various times and seasons,orbital phases,solar wind conditions,and magnetopause models,the alignment of the X-ray emission peak with the magnetopause tangent is good,or is not,is *** main results are as *** spacecraft needs to be positioned well outside the magnetopause;low-altitude times near perigee are not *** addition,there are seasonal aspects:dayside-apogee orbits are generally very good because the spacecraft travels out sunward at high altitude,but nightside-apogee orbits,behind the Earth,are bad because the spacecraft only rarely leaves the ***-apogee and dawnapogee orbits are ***-apogee orbits worsen slightly over the first three mission years,whereas nightside-apogee orbits improve ***,many more times of good agreement with the peak-to-tangent hypothesis occur when the solar wind is in a high-density state,as opposed to a low-density *** a high-density state,the magnetopause is compressed,and the spacecraft is more often a good d
