Many data sets contain temporal records which span a long period of time; each record is associated with a time stamp and describes some aspects of a real-world en- tity at a particular time （e.g., author information in DBLP）. In such cases, we often wish to identify records that describe the same entity over time and so be able to perform interest- ing longitudinal data analysis. However, existing record link- age techniques ignore temporal information and fall short for temporal data. this article studies linking temporal records. First, we ap- ply time decay to capture the effect of elapsed time on entity value evolution. Second, instead of comparing each pair of records locally, we propose clustering methods that consider the time order of the records and make global decisions. Ex- perimental results show that our algorithms significantly out- perform traditional linkage methods on various temporal data sets.

We summarize several novel schemes to generate multi-level modulation formats for high capacity transmission system with high spectral efficiency. We show that multi-level 8QAM, 16QAM, 32QAM, and 64QAM （QAM： quatlrature amplitude modulation） optical signals can be generated by commercial optical and electrical devices. Employing these multilevel modulation formats, we have realized PDM-8QAM （PDM： polarization division multiplexing） 32 tb/s and PDM-36QAM 64-tb/s signals transmission over 580-and 320-km fibers, respectively.

＜正＞ Recent success of statistical corpus-based methods in a variety of areas of speech and language processing has led to the widespread view that traditional hand-built "rule-based" approaches are moribund. this is a misconception. As I shall argue in this talk, it is unlikely that rule-based approaches will ever be eliminated. two examples are given to support this conclusion;one where the linguistic facts, though highly complex are basically quite regular: and another where the linguistic fact is exceedingly simple （hence hardly worth the effort of interring from data）, but where adding in this information can improve the output of a statistical model.

MINFLUX has achieved extraordinary resolution in superresolution imaging and single fluorophore *** is based on localizing single fluorophores by rapid probing with a patterned beam that features a local intensity *** implementations,however,are complex and expensive and are limited in speed and ***,we show that a combination of an electro-optical modulator with a segmented birefringent element such as a spatial light modulator produces a variable phase plate for which the phase can be scanned on the MHz *** or top-hat phase patterns generate high-contrast compact excitation point-spread functions for MINFLUX localization in the x,y,and z-direction,respectively,which can be scanned across a fluorophore within a microsecond,switched within 60 microseconds and alternated among different excitation *** discuss how to compensate for non-optimal performance of the components and present a robust 3D and multi-color MINFLUX excitation module,which we envision as an integral component of a high-performance and cost-effective open-source MINFLUX.

＜正＞ Unit selection-based speech synthesis has recently been the focus of much attention in the speech synthesis community. In general, the speech quality from such a system achieves a high degree of naturalness and good intelligibility. However, examining and selecting units for synthesis as a runtime operation makes the unit selection process computationally expensive. Considerable attention has been focused on reducing the complexity of unit selection while maintaining quality. Previous approaches to speeding up the process of runtime unit selection have focused on two aspects. （1） By limiting the number of candidate synthesis units considered in the unit selection process, the number of calculations required can be reduced. （2） By precomputing part of the needed calculations, the runtime complexity can be reduced. Much progress has been made using these methods, but usually at the expense of quality. We present two methods of reducing the complexity of the calculation that avoid any reduction in synthesis quality, while allowing a very fast unit selection process. Results are presented for the reduction in complexity of the calculation process, and for a perceptual experiment that shows quality is not reduced relative to a full unit selection process.

Increasing the spectral efficiency and per channel data rate have historically been shown to be the most cost-effective method to meet the need of ever growing capacity demand in the core network. In this paper we review recent progress in high-speed and high-spectral-efficient optical transmission technology. We discuss spectrally efficient modulation and detection technologies that have been experimentally explored for future 100-Gb/s and above optical transmission system. Emerging methods aiming at extending system reach for noise and nonlinearity-stressed high spectral efficiency optical transmission systems have also been reviewed. We show that spectrallyefficient multilevel coding coupled with polarization multiplexing and digital coherent detection has the potential to enable 400Gb/s per channel WDM system operating with existing 50GHzspaced WDM infrastructure at a spectral efficiency of 8b/s/Hz.

this paper reviewed the recent progress in transmission of 400 Gb/s, wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) channels for optical networks based on the standard 50 GHz grid. We discussed the enabling modulation, coding, and line system technologies, as well as the existing challenges. It is shown that, 400 Gb/s per channel signal can be transmitted on the standard 50 GHz ItU-t grid at 8.4 b/ds/Hz net spectral efficiency (SE) over meaningful transmission reach for regional and metropolitan applications. However, further studies are needed to fully understand the potential for meeting the requirements of long-haul transmission applications.

this paper presents a tunable multi-threshold micro-electromechanical inertial switch with adjustable threshold *** demonstrated device combines the advantages of accelerometers in providing quantitative acceleration measurements and g-threshold switches in saving power when in the inactive state upon experiencing acceleration below the *** designed proof-of-concept device with two thresholds consists of a cantilever microbeam and two stationary electrodes placed at different positions in the sensing *** adjustable threshold capability and the effect of the shock duration on the threshold acceleration are analytically investigated using a nonlinear beam *** are shown for the relationships among the applied bias voltage,the duration of shock impact,and the tunable *** fabricated prototypes are tested using a shock-table *** analytical results agree with the experimental *** designed device concept is very promising for the classification of the shock and impact loads in transportation and healthcare applications.
