e.v.ronmental Factors and Seasonal variation in Density of Mussel Larvae(Mytilus edulis) in Danish Waters

Mussel larval densities may fluctuate considerably on both small spatial and short temporal scales. So far, only few and scattered data on the occurrence of mussel larvae have been reported from Danish waters. However, seasonal variation in density of blue mussel (Mytilus edulis) larvae as related to e.v.ronmental factors (temperature, salinity, phytoplankton biomass) is basic information of relevance for future line-mussel farming in Danish waters. Here we report on the density of mussel larvae in a number of potential farming sites in the inner Danish waters. The mussel larval density measured in Skive Fjord, an eutrophicated inner branch of Limfjorden, during a period of 20 years, from 1989 to 2009, along with corresponding temperatures and chlorophylla, makes up the most important series of data reported here. In most years, a pronounced spring density peak and a subsequently lower autumn peak could be seen in Skive Fjord, but most conspicuous in the period 1993 to 2002 where the mean maximum spring larval density was 319 ± 260 ind·l-1. Further, data on mussel larval densities have been recorded on 4 locations in the Great Belt region: Kerteminde Bay in 2008 to 2011, and in 2008 at 3 other locations: Musholm Bay, Svendborg Sund, and Horsens Fjord. The maximum spring densities in the studied waters were obse.v.d in Skive Fjord, typically in May, whereas 10 to 100 times lower peak densities were found at the other locations studied. The reported obse.v.tions show that mussel larvae are omnipresent in the studied areas and it is suggested that the larval density is sufficient forrecruitment to future line-mussel farms.

Ultrafast supercontinuum generation in gas-filled waveguides is an enabling technology for many intriguing applications ranging from attosecond metrology towards biophotonics,with the amount of spectral broadening crucially depending on the pulse dispersion of the propagating *** this study,we show that structural resonances in a gas-filled antiresonant hollow core optical fiber provide an additional degree of freedom in dispersion engineering,which enables the generation of more than three octaves of broadband light that ranges from deep Uv wavelengths to near *** obse.v.tion relies on the introduction of a geometric-induced resonance in the spectral vicinity of the ultrafast pump laser,outperforming gas dispersion and yielding a unique dispersion profile independent of core size,which is highly relevant for scaling input *** a krypton-filled fiber,we obse.v. spectral broadening from 200 nm to 1.7μm at an output energy of B 23μJ within a single optical mode across the entire spectral *** show that the frequency generation results from an accelerated fission process of solitonlike waveforms in a non-adiabatic dispersion regime associated with the emission of multiple phase-matched Cherenkov radiations on both sides of the *** effect,along with the dispersion tuning and scaling capabilities of the fiber geometry,enables coherent ultra-broadband and high-energy sources,which range from the Uv to the mid‐infrared spectral range.

Structure and Properties of Nanostructured vacuum-Deposited Foils of Invar Fe–(35–38 wt%)Ni Alloys

The process of electron beam vacuum deposition of the Fe-（35-38 wt%）Ni alloys at substrate temperatures Ts from 300 to700 ℃ were used to produce.v.cuum-deposited foils with the FCC structure, differing by the size of characteristic microstructural elements （grains and subgrains）. It was shown that refinement of foil microstructural elements to nanoscale is accompanied by their microhardness increase up to 4-5 GPa. The change of the thermal expansion coefficient （TeC） of the nanostructured （NS） foil of the Fe-35.1Ni alloy within the temperature range from -50 to 150 ℃ has some deviation from that obse.v.d for cast Invar alloy of the same composition. It has been found that the main factors affecting the peculiarities of thermal expansion of the NS foil can be related to the presence of small fraction of BCC- phase in them, high level of crystalline lattice microstrains and inhomogeneous magnetic order in FCC- phase. It was shown that as a result of additional thermal treatment of NS foils their invar properties become similar to that obse.v.d for cast Invar alloy but mechanical properties remain on the same level.

毛细管光学元件在X射线分析中的应用已有20多年的历史,在这段时间里,毛细管光学元件的制作技术发生了很大的变化。上世纪90年代初,使用的是组装的毛细管光学元件,目前,集成的多通道毛细管光学元件已广泛地应用于市场销售的X射线分析设备中。这些元件的毛细管直径在微米量级,其光学性质可以根据几何光学的光线追迹计算进行描述。最近,由于多通道毛细管制作技术的改进,已成功制成了200 nm及以下通道尺寸的毛细管光学元件。在这样小的通道尺寸下,观察到了X射线辐射的波动效应。最后文章介绍了毛细管光学元件在X射线微荧光分析和微衍射方面的应用。

Zinc single atoms on N-doped carbon: An efficient and stable catalyst for CO2 fixation and conversion

The cycloaddition of epoxides and carbon dioxide represents a straightforward and atom-efficient method for synthesis of cyclic carbonates and utilization of CO2. So far, homogeneous metal complexes have been mainly applied for such transformations. Here, we describe the synthesis of novel heterogeneous Zn-based catalysts, which were conveniently prepared by pyrolysis of an active- carbon-supported phenanthroline-ligated Zn(OAc)2 complex. Detail structural characterizations proved the existence of single zinc sites in the active material. Compared to a Zn-based nanoparticle (Zn-NP) catalyst, the resulting single metal atom catalyst (SAC) displayed improved activity and stability for the cycloaddition of epoxides. By applying the optimal catalyst, a variety of carbonates were successfully obtained in high yields with good functional group tolerance.

This paper presents the influence of TeO_(2) on the optical and physical properties of rare earth ion Pr^(3+) doped 75PbO-(24-x)B_(2)O_(3-x)TeO_(2)-1Pr_(2)O_(3) glass *** the absorption coefficient measurements,optical band gap energies of the studied glasses are *** ion polarizability,refractive index,optical basicity,reflection loss and transmission coefficient are discussed and reported for the investigated *** parameters like the optical dielectric constant,polaron radius,interatomic separation,molar refraction and the metallization criterion are also studied through molar density and molar *** FTIR analysis reveals the shift of the band appearing at 1029 to 870 cm^(-1) because of the high concentration of PbO(75 mol% in the present glass)in the *** Pb-O-B linkage is considered to be the important in the network structure of these *** the present glasses metallization parameter values arevalues are high but decrease with increasing value of TeO_(2) *** may be due to densification of restricted or localized states caused by the creation of dangling bonds.
