A thermally-induced multi-component reaction of CF_(3)-substituted imidoyl sulfoxonium ylides(TFISYs),amines and(triphenylphosphonio)difluoroacetate(PDFA)has been developed,allowing a facile access to 2-trifluoromethyl-4-aminoquinolines in high *** reaction proceeds smoothly with or without the addition of sulfur and utilizes difluorocarbene as a C1 synthon under simply heating *** study reveals that in-situ generated thiocarbonyl fluoride,isothiocyanate or gem-difluoroalkene might act as the key reaction intermediates.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with advantages of high energy densities(2600 Wh·kg^(-1)/2800 Wh·L^(-1))and sulfur abundance are regarded as promising candidates for next-generation high-energy ***,the conventional carbon host used in sulfur cathodes suffers from poor chemical adsorption towards Li-polysulfides(LPS)in liquid electrolyte and sluggish redox kinetics,leading to low capacity and rate ***,carbon host used in Li metal anode with the intrinsic property of poor lithiophilicity and high Li-nucleation barrier gives rise to uncontrollable dendrite growth and further battery ***,non-carbon hosts with chemical adsorption toward LPS and catalytic activity for accelerating LPS redox conversion as well as lithiophilic property for guiding uniform Li deposition are proposed and demonstrated a high efficiency in both sulfur cathodes and Li metal *** this review,the principle and challenges of Li-S batteries are first presented,then recent work using non-carbon hosts in Li-S batteries is summarized comprehensively,and the mechanism of non-carbon host in improving sulfur utilization and stabilizing Li metal anode is discussed in ***,remaining challenges and outlook on the implementation of non-carbon host for practical carbon-free Li-S batteries are also provided.

In response to the rapid increase in world population and subsequent demands for food,edible insects represent an alternative food source for humans that is rich in proteins,amino acids and *** is a tradition in many countries including China and Thailand,and edible insects have attracted a lot of attention in Western World due to their suitable nutrient composition,high mineral content(e.g.,Fe,Zn,Ca,Mg)and potential use as a supplement in human *** this study,we surveyed mineral content in seven insect orders and 67 species of mass produced and wild-harvested edible *** total content of essential elements in edible insects was very high in Tenebrio molitor,Bombyx mori,and Zonocerus *** he.v. metal content(summarized for eight species)was below the maximum limit allowed for safe *** supply of minerals derived from insect biomass is complicated due to the high variations of mineral content in insects and the potential of its change due to processing.

Mining activities le.v. raw and partly artificial soils on dumps and tips. A prior objective of land reclamation in such areas is to restore and cultivate new soils which will fulfil their functions as a habitat for plants and animals and as a regulator in the cycling of matter and water in the landscape as well as a production site for agriculture or forestry. This paper gives an ove.v.ew on major challenges and principles of soil reclamation for agriculture and forestry, reporting some results of research in the Lusatian mining region in Germany with special respect to soil amelioration technologies. Finally the benefits of such efforts are shown and an outlook on further research and development needs is given.

BACKGROUND Over the last decade,multiple agents have demonstrated efficacy for advanced esophagogastric cancer(eGC).Despite the availability of later lines of therapy,there remains limited real-world data about the treatment attrition rates between lines of *** To characterize the use and attrition rates between lines of therapy for patients with advanced *** We identified patients who rece.v.d at least one cycle of chemotherapy for advanced eGC between July 1,2017 and July 31,2018 across six regional centers in British Columbia(BC),***,treatment,and outcomes data were *** Of 245 patients who rece.v.d at least one line of therapy,median age was 66 years(IQR 58.2-72.3)and 186(76%)were male,eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(eCOG)performance status 0/1(80%),gastric vs GeJ(36%vs 64%).Histologies included adenocarcinoma(78%),squamous cell carcinoma(8%),and signet ring(14%),with 31%HeR2 positive.72%presented with de novo disease,and 25%had rece.v.d previous *** was a high level of treatment attrition,with patients rece.v.ng only one line of therapy n=122,50%),two lines n=83,34%),three lines n=34,14%),and four lines n=6,2%).Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated improved survival with increasing lines of therapy(median overall survival 7.7 vs 16.6 vs 22.8 vs 40.4 mo,Pvariable Cox regression,improved survival was associated with better baseline eCOG and increased lines of therapy(Pe steep attrition rates between therapies highlight the unmet need for more efficacious early-line treatment options for patients with advanced eGC.

As a complement to standard laparoscopic surgery and a safe alternative to natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery,single incision laparoscopic surgery is gaining *** are expensive ports,disposable hand instruments and flexible endoscopes that have been suggested to do this surgery and would increase the cost of *** a simple surgery like laparoscopic cholecystectomy,these extras are not needed and the surgery can be performed using standard ports,instruments and *** port insertion and use of instruments by the "chop stick method" are recommended to successfully do the procedure as we have done in our so far small series of 40 cases.

vanadium oxides as cathode for zinc-ion batteries have attracted much attention because of their high theoretical capacity,flexible layered structure and abundant ***,cathodes are susceptible to the collapse of their layered structure and the dissolution of vanadium after repeated long cycles,which worsen their capacities and cycling ***,a synergistic engineering of calcium-ion intercalation and polyaniline coating was developed to achieve the superior electrochemical performance of vanadium pentoxide for zinc-ion *** pre-intercalation of calcium-ion between vanadium pentoxide layers as pillars increase the crystal structure’s stability,while the polyaniline coating on the cathodes improves the conductivity and inhibits the dissolution of *** synergistic engineering enables that the battery system based-on the polyaniline coated calcium vanadate cathode to deliver a high capacity of 406.4 mAh·g^(−1)at 1 A·g^(−1),an ultralong cycle life over 6000 cycles at 10 A·g^(−1)with 93%capacity retention and high-rate *** vanadium oxide cathode with synergistic engineering of calcium-ion intercalation and polyaniline coating was verified to effectively improve the electrochemical performance of zinc-ion batteries.
