A Comprehensive Method for the Risk Assessment of Ground Fissures:Case Study of the Eastern Weihe Basin

Ground fissures are influenced by the coupling of geological factors and human *** threaten the safety of infrastructure and restrict town planning in many areas in *** of the area most severely affected by ground fissures is the Weihe Basin in North China,which has the most extensive distribution of ground fissures and all the elements that control their occurrence,pro-viding an ideal study area for the study of ground *** this study,we took the eastern Weihe Ba-sin as the study area and determined the distribution and hazard characteristics of ground fissures via field *** on the analytic hierarchy process,we propose a multi-level,comprehensive method for evaluating the hazards of ground *** method considers the geological back-ground,development status,and triggering factors of ground fissures,including all nine currently known assessment indices of ground *** used judgment matrices to rank the constructed ground fissure assessment index system at the single and total levels and quantified the nine assessment indices of ground fissures according to the field survey ***,we plotted the ground fissure risk zoning map and evaluated the ground fissure risk at the study *** findings indicated that the proposed method could facilitate ground fissure hazard assessment and prediction and provide support for hazard prevention and urban/rural planning.

Effect of salts on earthen materials deterioration after humidity cycling

Salt weathering leads to destruction of many valuable cultural heritage monuments and porous building material. The present study aims at providing more laboratory evidence for evaluating the effects of salt precipitation on the deterioration process. In view of this, the remoulded soil specimens were mixed with three kinds of salts(i.e., NaCl, Na_2SO_4 and their mixture) with different salt concentrations, and the specimens were kept in environment cabinet for undergoing different wet-dry cycles. After each cycle, the ultrasound velocity measurements were employed to monitor the deterioration process. For the specimens that have suffered three wet-dry cycles, the mechanical properties(i.e. shear strength and compression strength) were determined to evaluate the degree of deterioration. Furthermore, considering the realistic conservation environment of earthen sites, mechanical stability of these specimens against sediment-carrying wind erosion was conducted in a wind tunnel. These experiments results indicate that the overall average velocities of the specimens after the third cycle are significantly lower than those subjected to only one cycle. Ultrasound velocity, mechanical strength and wind erosion rate decrease when salt content increases. However, the internal friction angle increases firstly, and then decreases with the increase in salt content added to the specimens. Na_2SO_4 contributes most of the surface deterioration, while NaCl plays little role in the deterioration. The damage potential of the salt mixture is less obvious and largely dependent on the crystallisation location.

Electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia as an environment-friendly and sustainable development method has received widespread attention in recent ***-dimensional(2D)materials are a promising catalyst for ammonia synthesis due to their large surface *** this work,we have constructed a series of 2D metal borides(MBenes)with transition metal(TM)defects(TMd-MBenes)and comprehensively calculated the reactivity of electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia-based on density functional *** results have demonstrated that the TMd-MBenes can effectively activate nitrogen oxide(NO)and nitrogen(N2)molecules *** interesting,the co-chemisorption of O atoms,dissociated from NO,can facilitate the spilled of the inert N2 molecules into single N atoms,which can further hydrogenate into ammonia easily with an ultralow limiting potential of 0.59 V on *** research has not only provided clues for catalyst design for experimental study but also paved the way for the industrial application of electrocatalytic ammonia synthesis.

Social Robot Detection Method with Improved Graph Neural Networks

Social robot accounts controlled by artificial intelligence or humans are active in social networks,bringing negative impacts to network security and social *** social robot detection methods based on graph neural networks suffer from the problem of many social network nodes and complex relationships,which makes it difficult to accurately describe the difference between the topological relations of nodes,resulting in low detection accuracy of social *** paper proposes a social robot detection method with the use of an improved neural ***,social relationship subgraphs are constructed by leveraging the user’s social network to disentangle intricate social relationships ***,a linear modulated graph attention residual network model is devised to extract the node and network topology features of the social relation subgraph,thereby generating comprehensive social relation subgraph features,and the feature-wise linear modulation module of the model can better learn the differences between the ***,user text content and behavioral gene sequences are extracted to construct social behavioral features combined with the social relationship subgraph ***,social robots can be more accurately identified by combining user behavioral and relationship *** carrying out experimental studies based on the publicly available datasets TwiBot-20 and Cresci-15,the suggested method’s detection accuracies can achieve 86.73%and 97.86%,*** with the existing mainstream approaches,the accuracy of the proposed method is 2.2%and 1.35%higher on the two *** results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively detect social robots and maintain a healthy ecological environment of social networks.

In recent years,water evaporation-induced electricity has attracted a great deal of attention as an emerging green and renewable energy harvesting *** abundant materials have been developed to fabricate hydrovoltaic devices,the limitations of high costs,inconvenient storage and transport,low environmental benefits,and unadaptable shape have restricted their wide ***,an electricity generator driven by water evaporation has been engineered based on natural biomass leather with inherent properties of good moisture permeability,excellent wettability,physicochemical stability,flexibility,and *** numerous nano/microchannels together with rich oxygen-bearing functional groups,the natural leather-based water evaporator,Leather_(Emblic-NPs-SA/CB),could continuously produce electricity even staying outside,achieving a maximum output voltage of∼3 V with six-series ***,the leather-based water evaporator has enormous potential for use as a flexible self-powered electronic floor and seawater demineralizer due to its sensitive pressure sensing ability as well as its excellent photothermal conversion efficiency(96.3%)and thus fast water evaporation rate(2.65 kg m^(−2)h^(−1)).This work offers a new and functional material for the construction of hydrovoltaic devices to harvest the sustained green energy from water evaporation in arbitrary ambient environments,which shows great promise in their widespread applications.

Numerical simulation of water-slag elbow erosion-inhibiting by regulating the slag injection position with a novel preceding rotating sheet structure

The elbow erosion seriously jeopardizes the safe and stable operation of water–slag discharge pipeline of the coal gasification *** work simulated water–slag elbow characteristics with various slag injection positions by simulating five simplified and representative erosion categories,including A-type horizontal-vertical elbow with an upstream flow,B-type horizontal-vertical elbow with a downstream flow,C-type vertical-horizontal elbow with an upstream flow,D-type vertical-horizontal elbow with a downstream flow and E-type horizontal-horizontal *** with the C/D-type elbow,where particles were injected uniformly,the A-type elbow and E-type elbow were found to increase erosion rate,while the B-type elbow decreases erosion *** interesting discovery is that the elbow erosion rate is relatively low for small particles when particles are injected from the middle and bottom positions of the inlet section of the *** on the observation,a novel preceding rotating sheet structure was developed to regulate the particle injection *** shows an excellent anti-erosion performance by reducing the maximum erosion rate of particles with diameters of 50,100,and 200μm by 23%,35%,and 43%,respectively.

Plasma induced grain boundaries to boost electrochemical reduction of CO_(2)to formate

Bismuth-based catalysts are highly promising for the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(eCO_(2)RR)to formate ***,achieving high activity and selectivity towards formate and ensuring long-term stability remains *** work reports the oxygen plasma inducing strategy to construct the abundant grain boundaries of Bi/BiO_x on ultrathin two-dimensional Bi *** oxygen plasma-treated Bi nanosheet(OP-Bi)exhibits over 90%Faradaic efficiency(FE)for formate at a wide potential range from-0.5 to-1.1 V,and maintains a great stability catalytic performance without significant decay over 30 h in flow ***,membrane electrode assembly(MEA)device with OPBi as catalyst sustains the robust current density of 100 mA cm^(-2)over 50 h,maintaining a formate FE above 90%.In addition,rechargeable Zn-CO_(2)battery presents the peak power density of1.22 mW cm^(-2)with OP-Bi as bifunctional *** mechanism experiments demonstrate that the high-density grain boundaries of OP-Bi provide more exposed active sites,faster electron transfer capacity,and the stronger intrinsic activity of Bi *** situ spectroscopy and theo retical calculations further elucidate that the unsaturated Bi coordination atoms between the grain boundaries can effectively activate CO_(2)molecules through elongating the C-O bond,and reducing the formation energy barrier of the key intermediate(^(*)OCOH),thereby enhancing the catalytic performance of eCO_(2)RR to formate product.

Intraperitoneal injection but not oral administration of ellagic acid: A novel immunomodulator via targeting casein kinase 2 signaling pathway

Immunosuppressants currently approved for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and organ transplant rejection present diverse adverse effects that impair the life quality of patients. Therefore， the development of novel immunomodulators with high efficiency and low toxicity is essential. Ellagic acid (EA)， a natural polyphenol compound widely distributed in berries， is metabolically transformed by gut microbiome to exert systemic health benefits. Here， we identified that intraperitoneal administration of EA with no cytotoxicity， beyond its well-known oral metabolic fate， effectively decreased clinical severity and CNS inflammation/demyelination in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE)， a mouse model of an autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis (MS). Interestingly， intraperitoneal EA administration at incredibly low doses (0.1 mg/kg/d) is dose-sparing with fingolimod (FTY720)， the first FDA-approved oral drug for MS. In addition， intraperitoneal EA also ameliorated the brain damage in a neuromyelitis optica (NMO) model， and significantly prevented the immune rejection of allograft skin graft. Evidence from pharmacological studies combined with RNA-seq indicate that prototype EA functions by a mechanism that involves direct inhibition of casein kinase II (CKII) to suppress the expression of IL-17 and promote the expression of Cpt1a to regulate Th17 differentiation. In conclusion， our study demonstrates that the prototype EA entering the blood circulation acts as a novel therapeutic immunomodulator for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection through the CKⅡ-mediated JAK/STAT/Cpt1a signaling pathway.
