Recovery of cyanophycin granule polypeptide from activated sludge: carbon source dependence and aggregation-induced luminescence characteristics

In the sewage treatment process,facilitating the conversion of pollutants into value-added resources holds great potential for reducing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions and promoting economic *** granule polypeptide(CGP),a recently discovered high value-added biopolymer present in activated sludge,has provided new avenues for the recovery of ***,the mechanisms that regulate CGP synthesis and the characteristics of this biopolymer in activated sludge remain unclear thus *** study investigated the synthesis of CGP,polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHA),and alginate-like exopolysaccharides(ALE)in various microbial aggregates under different carbon sources feeding *** results showed that the CGP yields was superior that of PHA and ALE when subjected to identical carbon source feeding ***,biofilm was more conducive to CGP accumulation than floc *** with glucose and methanol,sodium acetate significantly enriched the CGP synthetase-encoding gene(cphAabundance=~17419),resulting in the highest CGP yield(average 107.1 mg/g MLSS)in both biofilm and floc *** study is the first to reported the characteristic fluorescence of CGP(Ex/Em=~360/450 nm)caused by the aggregated luminescence of arginine on the side ***,this study highlights the potential application of CGP as a fluorescent material and offers insights into CGP recovery from activated sludge in wastewater treatment plants.

This work constructed a machine learning(ML)model to predict the atmospheric corrosion rate of low-alloy steels(LAS).The material properties of LAS,environmental factors,and exposure time were used as the input,while the corrosion rate as the output.6 dif-ferent ML algorithms were used to construct the proposed *** optimization and filtering,the eXtreme gradient boosting(XG-Boost)model exhibited good corrosion rate prediction *** features of material properties were then transformed into atomic and physical features using the proposed property transformation approach,and the dominant descriptors that affected the corrosion rate were filtered using the recursive feature elimination(RFE)as well as XGBoost *** established ML models exhibited better predic-tion performance and generalization ability via property transformation *** addition,the SHapley additive exPlanations(SHAP)method was applied to analyze the relationship between the descriptors and corrosion *** results showed that the property transformation model could effectively help with analyzing the corrosion behavior,thereby significantly improving the generalization ability of corrosion rate prediction models.

Research on discrete memristor-based neural networks has received much ***,current research mainly focuses on memristor–based discrete homogeneous neuron networks,while memristor-coupled discrete heterogeneous neuron networks are rarely *** this study,a new four-stable discrete locally active memristor is proposed and its nonvolatile and locally active properties are verified by its power-off plot and DC V–I *** on two-dimensional(2D)discrete Izhikevich neuron and 2D discrete Chialvo neuron,a heterogeneous discrete neuron network is constructed by using the proposed discrete memristor as a coupling synapse connecting the two heterogeneous *** the coupling strength as the control parameter,chaotic firing,periodic firing,and hyperchaotic firing patterns are *** particular,multiple coexisting firing patterns are observed,which are induced by different initial values of the *** synchronization between the two heterogeneous neurons is discussed and it is found that they can achieve perfect synchronous at large coupling ***,the effect of Gaussian white noise on synchronization behaviors is also *** demonstrate that the presence of noise not only leads to the transition of firing patterns,but also achieves the phase synchronization between two heterogeneous neurons under low coupling strength.

The brain is a complex network system in which a large number of neurons are widely connected to each other and transmit signals to each *** memory characteristic of memristors makes them suitable for simulating neuronal synapses with *** this paper,a memristor is used to simulate a synapse,a discrete small-world neuronal network is constructed based on Rulkov neurons and its dynamical behavior is *** explore the influence of system parameters on the dynamical behaviors of the discrete small-world network,and the system shows a variety of firing patterns such as spiking firing and triangular burst firing when the neuronal parameterαis *** results of a numerical simulation based on Matlab show that the network topology can affect the synchronous firing behavior of the neuronal network,and the higher the reconnection probability and number of the nearest neurons,the more significant the synchronization state of the *** addition,by increasing the coupling strength of memristor synapses,synchronization performance is *** results of this paper can boost research into complex neuronal networks coupled with memristor synapses and further promote the development of neuroscience.

Memristor-based chaotic systems with infinite equilibria are interesting because they generate extreme *** initial state-dependent dynamics can be explained in a reduced-dimension model by converting the incremental integration of the state variables into system ***,this approach cannot solve memristive systems in the presence of nonlinear terms other than the memristor *** addition,the converted state variables may suffer from a degree of *** allow simpler mechanistic analysis and physical implementation of extreme multistability phenomena,this paper uses a multiple mixed state variable incremental integration(MMSVII)method,which successfully reconstructs a four-dimensional hyperchaotic jerk system with multiple cubic nonlinearities except for the memristor term in a three-dimensional model using a clever linear state variable mapping that eliminates the divergence of the state ***,the simulation circuit of the reduced-dimension system is constructed using Multisim simulation software and the simulation results are consistent with the MATLAB numerical simulation *** results show that the method of MMSVII proposed in this paper is useful for analyzing extreme multistable systems with multiple higher-order nonlinear terms.

Synaptic crosstalk is a prevalent phenomenon among neuronal synapses,playing a crucial role in the transmission of neural ***,considering synaptic crosstalk behavior and investigating the dynamical behavior of discrete neural networks are highly *** this paper,we propose a heterogeneous discrete neural network(HDNN)consisting of a three-dimensional KTz discrete neuron and a Chialvo discrete *** two neurons are coupled mutually by two discrete memristors and the synaptic crosstalk is *** impact of crosstalk strength on the firing behavior of the HDNN is explored through bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov *** is observed that the HDNN exhibits different coexisting attractors under varying crosstalk ***,the influence of different crosstalk strengths on the synchronized firing of the HDNN is investigated,revealing a gradual attainment of phase synchronization between the two discrete neurons as the crosstalk strength decreases.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are regarded as promising energy storage devices due to their low cost,high capacity,and ecological ***,the severe dendritic growth and side reactions hinder their practical applicability ***,an ultrathin Cu coating layer(~200 nm)is decorated on zinc foils via filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition technology,aiming to achieve high-performance *** Cu layer effectively suppresses chemical corrosion and hydrogen evolution reactions and enables preferential(002)Zn deposition during the stripping/plating ***,the Cu@Zn anode represents an elongated cycle life over 4,000 h at 2 mA·cm^(-2)/2 mAh·cm^(-2).Even in conditions of high current density of 5 and 10 mA·cm^(-2),the Cu@Zn anode shows prolonged cycling stability exceeding 4000 and 2000 h,*** advantages also bring high Coulombic efficiency of 99.87%under 5 mAh·cm^(-2)in Cu@Ti||Zn half-cell over 1500 ***,the Cu@Zn||MnO_(2)full cell demonstrates a superior cyclability with a specific capacity of 203 mAh·g^(-1)after 500 cycles a1 A·g^(-1).

The selective oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol(KA oil)is a challenging issue in the chemical *** present the industrial conversion of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol is normally controlled at less than 5%***,the development of highly active and stable catalysts for the aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane is necessary to overcome this low-efficiency ***,we have developed a cobalt-nitrogen co-doped porous sphere catalyst,Co-NC-x(x is the Zn/Co molar ratio,where x=0,0.5,1,2,and 4)by pyrolyzing resorcinol-formaldehyde resin *** achieved 88.28%cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol selectivity and a cyclohexane conversion of 8.88%under *** results showed that the introduction of zinc effectively alleviated the aggregation of Co nanoparticles and optimized the structural properties of the *** addition,Co0 and pyridinic-N are proposed to be the possible active species,and their proportion efficiently increased in the presence of Zn^(2+)*** this study,we developed a novel strategy to design highly active catalysts for cyclohexane oxidation.

In this article,we introduce multiplier ideal sheaves on complex spaces with singularities(not necessarily normal)via Ohsawa’s extension measure,as a special case of which,it turns out to be the socalled Mather-Jacobian multiplier ideals in the algebro-geometric *** by Nadel’s coherence and Guan-Zhou’s strong openness properties of the multiplier ideal sheaves,we discuss similar properties for the generalized multiplier ideal *** applications,we obtain a reasonable generalization of(algebraic)adjoint ideal sheaves to the analytic setting and establish some extension theorems on K?hler manifolds from singular *** on our multiplier and adjoint ideals,we also give characterizations for several important classes of singularities of pairs associated with plurisubharmonic functions.
