Hydrochemical Characterization,Controlling Factors and Water Quality of Surface Water in Shandong Province,North China

In this study,90 surface water samples were collected from Shandong Province(SDP)in the dry and wet seasons and analyzed using statistical analysis,hydrochemical methods and water quality index(WQI).The content of main ions showed seasonal variations,with a higher average value in the dry season than in the wet *** points exhibiting high contents of the main chemical components were mainly distributed in areas southwest of SDP,north of Weifang,and around *** saturation index of carbonate minerals was greater than zero,while that of evaporite minerals was less than *** hydrochemical characteristics of surface water are mainly dominated by rock weathering as well as cation *** addition,surface water in SDP has significantly been affected by anthropogenic *** of the surface water could be classified as weakly alkaline soft-fresh water,with the hydrochemical types of SO_(4.·Cl-Ca·Mg and SO_(4.·*** terms of WQI,4..88% and 37.88% of the water samples in SDP were classified as poor water in the dry and wet seasons,*** the whole,the water quality is higher in the wet season than in the dry season,and surface water in SDP is generally suitable for agricultural irrigation.

Rocks of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(QTP)host abundant Triassic *** far,the well established marine fossil sequences based on ammonoids,conodonts,bivalves,brachiopods,radiolarians,and terrestrial spora-pollen sequence have become standard for biostratigraphic correlation of the *** much of Triassic time,the QTP occupied a marine setting as suggested by the dominance of marine *** main sedimentary types represented in the Triassic successions include littoral to shallow marine clastic rocks,shallow marine carbonate platform carbonates,bathyal to abyssal slope carbonates intercalated with clastic and siliceous deposits,coal-bearing clastic strata contained within paralic facies deposits,and littoral and terrestrial volcaniclastic *** deposits are organized into four stages in ascending order:(1)Early Triassic deposits that record marine transgression,including extensive shallow marine carbonate platform strata.(2)Middle Triassic Ladinian to Late Triassic Carnian deposits,including thin-bedded limestone,fine clastics,and siliceous rocks,that accumulated at greater depths than underlying Early Triassic strata and reflect the peak of the *** activity appears to have occurred in some areas during this stage.(3)Late Triassic Norian deposits that record the onset of marine regression as suggested by the widespread occurrence of platform *** is noteworthy that stage 3 deposits of the Qin-Qi-Kun area in the northernmost region of the QPT is dominated by terrestrial strata and displays evidence of local erosion.(4.Late Triassic Rhaetian littoral and shallow marine clastic and coal-bearing deposits that preserve the record of continued marine regression *** Indus-Yarlungzangbo Suture Zone(IYSZ)appears to have been the rifting axis during Triassic time as suggested by sedimentary facies trends that reflect deepening to south and ***,the Himalaya Block to the south of the IYSZ was part of the passive margin

Despite extensive efforts in designing and preparing switchable underwater adhesives,it is not easy to regulate the underwater adhesion strength locally and ***,we design and synthesize photoreversible copolymer of poly[dopamine methacrylamide-co-methoxyethyl-acrylate-co-7-(2-methacryloyloxyethoxy)-4.methylcoumarin].Due to the dynamic formation and breaking of chemical crosslinking networks within the smart adhesives,the material shows widely tunable adhesion strength from∼150 to∼4.0 kPa and long-range reversible maneuverability under orthogonal 254.and 365 nm ultraviolet light stimulation via the coumarin dimerization and ***,the adhesive exhibits good circulation performance and stability in an acid–base *** also demonstrated that the bolt can be coated with the smart adhesive material for on-demand *** design principle opens the door to the development of remotely controllable high-performance smart underwater adhesives.

Changes of tropical cyclone size in three oceanic basins of the northern hemisphere from 2001 to 2021

In this study the changes of tropical cyclone(TC)size from 2001 to 2021 are analyzed based on linear and quadratic curve fittings of the National Hurricane Center(NHC)/Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC)best track data,based on the radius of maximum wind(RMW)and the average radius of 34.kt wind(AR34.,in three oceanic basins of the North Atlantic(NATL),the Western North Pacific(WPAC)and the Eastern North Pacific(EPAC).The computations are done separately for two categories of tropical cyclones:tropical storms(TS)and hurricanes(HT).Size changes of landfalling and non-landfalling TCs are also *** show that there is a great inter-basin variability among the changes in TC *** conclusions include:1)overall,the inner cores of TSs have become larger in all three basins,with the increasing tendencies being significant in the NATL and WAPC,while those of HTs mostly get smaller or remain similar;2)meanwhile,comparatively large inter-basin differences are observed for the TC outer core sizes,and the sizes of landfalling TCs;3)particularly,a significant decrease in landfalling HT outer core size is observed over the EPAC;4.in contrast,significant increases in landfalling TS inner core size are found over the NATL and *** presented analysis results could benefit future research about TC forecasts,storm surge studies,and the cyclone climate and its changes.

A study of single-electron capture(SEC) in 18-24. keV O^(6+)-Ne collisions has been conducted employing a combination of experimental and theoretical *** a reaction microscope,state-selective SEC cross sections and projectile scattering angle distributions were *** translational energy spectra for SEC reveal the prevailing capture into n=3 states of the projectile ion,with a minor contribution from n=4.***,as the projectile's energy increases,the relative contribution of SEC n=4.states increases while that of SEC n=3 states ***,we computed state-selective relative cross sections and angular differential cross sections employing the classical molecular Coulomb over-the-barrier model(MCBM) and the multichannel Landau-Zener(MCLZ) model.A discernible discrepancy between the state-selective cross sections from the two theoretical models is apparent for the considered impact ***,regarding the angular differential cross sections,an overall agreement was attained between the current experimental results and the theoretical results from the MCLZ model.

An intramolecular isotopic study was conducted on natural gases collected from coal-derived gas reser-voirs in sedimentary basins of China to determine their position-specific isotope *** propane from the Turpan-Hami Basin exhibited negativeΔc-T(δ13Ccentral-δ13Cterminal)values ranging from-3.9‰to-0.3‰,with an average of-2.1‰.Propane from the Ordos Basin,Sichuan Basin,and Tarim Basin showed positiveΔC-T values,with averages of 1.3‰,5.4.and 7.6‰,*** carbon isotope compositions reveal the precursors and the propane generation pathways in the petroliferous *** formed from the thermal cracking of TypeⅢkerogen has largerδ13Ccentral andδ13Cterminal values than propane from TypeⅠ/Ⅱ*** precursor for natural gases collected in this study is identified to be TypeⅢ*** our data to calculated results for thermal cracking of TypeⅢkerogen,we found that propane from the low-maturity gas reservoir in the Turpan Basin was generated via the i-propyl radical pathway,whereas propane from the Sulige tight gas reservoir in the Ordos Basin was formed via the n-propyl radical pathway.δ13Cterminal values covered a narrow range across basins,in contrast toδ*** terminal carbon position in propane is less impacted by microbial oxidation and more relevant to maturity levels and ***,δ13Cterminal has a good potential to infer the origin and maturity level of natural *** examining post-generation processes,we proposed an improved identification strategy for microbial oxidation of natural gases,based on the position-specific carbon isotope distributions of *** from the Liaohe Depression of the Bohai Bay Basin and the Sichuan Basin were detected of post-generation microbial ***,position-specific carbon isotope composition of propane provides new insights into the generation mechanism and post-generation processes of natural gas in the geological period at the atomic level.

Chemical weathering processes in the Chinese Loess Plateau

Covered by erodible loess and affected by significant seasonal climate variations,chemical weathering in the Chinese Loess Plateau(abbreviated as CLP)has important effects on the hydrochemistry of the Yellow River and the global carbon ***,chemical weathering processes in the CLP are still *** on 296 river water samples in the CLP in the different seasons,hydrochemistry,weathering processes,and their controlling factors were *** waters in the CLP exhibited slightly alkalinity(pH=8.4.0.5)with much high total dissolved solids(TDS)values(691±813 mg/L).The water types of river water in the CLP were primarily SO_(4.^(2-)-Cl^(-)-Na^(+),HCO_(3)^(-)-Ca^(2+)-Mg^(2+),and SO_(4.^(2-)-Cl^(-)-Ca^(2+)-Mg^(2+).According to the forward model,evaporite dissolution has the largest contribution(55.1%±0.2%)to riverine solutes in the CLP,then followed by carbonate weathering(35.6%±0.2%)and silicate weathering(6.5%±0.1%).For spatio-temporal variations,the contribution of evaporite dissolution in the CLP decreased from northwest to southeast with higher proportion in the dry season,carbonate weathering increased from northwest to southeast with a higher proportion in the wet season,and silicate weathering showed minor spatio-temporal ***^(2+)and Mg^(2+)were affected by carbonate precipitation and/or incongruent calcite dissolution,and about 50%of samples exhibited cation exchange *** physical erosion rate in the CLP,which was 372±293 t·km^(-2)·yr^(-1),varied greatly and was greater than those of other worldwide *** weathering rates in the CLP showed an increasing trend *** the wet season,high runoff led to the release of evaporite and carbonate from loess,while the interfacial reaction kinetic limited the increase of the silicate weathering *** CO_(2)consumption budget by carbonate weathering(6.1×10^(10)mol/yr)and silicate weathering(1.6×10^(10)mol/yr)in the CLP accounted for 0.29%and 0.08%of the global carb

Human activity over natural inputs determines the bacterial community in an ice core from the Muztag ata glacier

Ice core provides a valuable vertical timeline of past climates and anthropogenic *** proxies have been widely used in these studies,but there are few biological indicators *** address this gap,we investigated the bacterial community from a 74.m ice core of Muztag ata glacier on the Tibetan Plateau to link biological indicators with past climate and anthropogenic *** analyzing the portion of the ice core with environmental proxies available(corresponding to 1907 to 1991),we observed an increase in bacterial richness throughout the ice core,which was associated with higher NH_(4.^(+),an indicator of agricultural *** bacterial community was jointly determined by human activity,natural input,and air temperature,with a strong human influence after the ***,the relative abundance of animal gut-associated bacteria,including Aerococcaceae,Nocardiaceae,Muribaculaceae,and Lachnospiraceae,was associated with livestock number changes in the Central Asian *** with other bacterial lineages,they jointly explained 59.8%of the livestock number *** study provides quantitative evidence of the associations between bacterial indicators and past climate and human activities,highlighting the potential of using bacterial proxies for ice core studies.

Genesis of the Jianbeigou Gold Deposit on the Southern Margin of the North China Craton: Insights from Fluid Inclusions, H-O-S Isotopes, and Pyrite in situ Trace Element Analyses

The Jianbeigou gold deposit is a typical lode gold deposit in the Qinling metallogenic belt, located on the southern margin of the North China Craton. Three stages of the hydrothermal process can be distinguished, including the quartz ± pyrite, quartz-polymetallic sulfide, and quartz-carbonate ± pyrite stages. From the early to late stages, the homogenization temperatures of primary fluid inclusions are 281–362°C, 227–331°C, and 14.–261°C, respectively. The corresponding salinities estimated for these fluids are 3.9–9.9 wt%, 0.4.9.4.wt%, and 0.7–7.2 wt% Na Cl equiv. Combined with laser Raman spectroscopy data, the ore-forming fluid belongs to a H_(2)O-CO_(2)-Na Cl ± CH_4.system with medium–low temperature and salinity. The δ~(18)Ofluid and δD values for the quartz veins are-1.0‰ to 6.0‰ and-105‰ to-84., respectively, which indicates that the ore-forming fluid is of mixed source, mainly derived from magma, with a contribution from meteoric water. Pyrite has been identified into three generations based on mineral paragenetic sequencing, including Py1, Py2, and Py3. The pyrites have δ~(34.S sulfur isotopic compositions from three stages between 3.7‰ and 8.4., indicating that sulfur mainly originated from magma. Te, Bi, Sb, and Cu contents in pyrite were all high and showed a strong correlation with Au concentrations. Native gold and the Au-Ag-Bi telluride minerals were formed concurrently, and the As concentration was low and decoupled from the Au content. Therefore, Te, Bi, Sb and other low-melting point chalcophile elements play an important role for gold mineralization in arsenic-deficient ore-forming fluid. Combined with the geological setting, evolution of pyrite, and ore-fluids geochemistry, we propose that the Jianbeigou deposit can be classified as a magmatic–hydrothermal lode gold deposit. Gold mineralization on the southern margin of the North China Craton is related to Early Cretaceous magmatism and formed in an extensional setting.
