The application of artificial intelligence technology in Internet of Vehicles(lov)has attracted great research interests with the goal of enabling smart transportation and traffic ***,concerns have been raised over the security and privacy of the tons of traffic and vehicle *** this regard,Federated Learning(FL)with privacy protection features is considered a highly promising ***,in the FL process,the server side may take advantage of its dominant role in model aggregation to steal sensitive information of users,while the client side may also upload malicious data to compromise the training of the global *** existing privacy-preserving FL schemes in IoV fail to deal with threats from both of these two sides at the same *** this paper,we propose a Blockchain based Privacy-preserving Federated Learning scheme named BPFL,which uses blockchain as the underlying distributed framework of *** improve the Multi-Krum technology and combine it with the homomorphic encryption to achieve ciphertext-level model aggregation and model filtering,which can enable the verifiability of the local models while achieving ***,we develop a reputation-based incentive mechanism to encourage users in IoV to actively participate in the federated learning and to practice *** security analysis and performance evaluations are conducted to show that the proposed scheme can meet the security requirements and improve the performance of the FL model.

Communication is crucial to the performance of distributed training. Today's solutions tightly couple the control and data planes and lack flexibility, generality, and performance. In this study, we present SDCC, a software-defined collective communication framework for distributed training. SDCC is based on the principle of modern systems design to effectively decouple the control plane from the data *** abstracts the operations for collective communication in distributed training with dataflow operations and unifies computing and communication with a single dataflow graph. The abstraction, together with the unification, is powerful: it enables users to easily express new and existing collective communication algorithms and optimizations, simplifies the integration with different computing engines(e.g., Py Torch and Tensor Flow) and network transports(e.g., Linux TCP and kernel bypass), and allows the system to improve performance by exploiting parallelism exposed by the dataflow graph. We further demonstrate the benefits of SDCC in four use cases.

Self-Aligning Multi-Modal Transformer for Oropharyngeal Swab Point Localization

The oropharyngeal swabbing is a pre-diagnostic procedure used to test various respiratory diseases, including COVID and Influenza A (H1N1). To improve the testing efficiency of testing, a real-time, accurate, and robust sampling point localization algorithm is needed for robots. However, current solutions rely heavily on visual input, which is not reliable enough for large-scale deployment. The transformer has significantly improved the performance of image-related tasks and challenged the dominance of traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in the image field. Inspired by its success, we propose a novel self-aligning multi-modal transformer (SAMMT) to dynamically attend to different parts of unaligned feature maps, preventing information loss caused by perspective disparity and simplifying overall implementation. Unlike preexisting multi-modal transformers, our attention mechanism works in image space instead of embedding space, rendering the need for the sensor registration process obsolete. To facilitate the multi-modal task, we collected and annotate an oropharynx localization/segmentation dataset by trained medical personnel. This dataset is open-sourced and can be used for future multi-modal research. Our experiments show that our model improves the performance of the localization task by 4.2% compared to the pure visual model, and reduces the pixel-wise error rate of the segmentation task by 16.7% compared to the CNN baseline.

The private set intersection(PSI) protocol allows two parties holding a set of integers to compute the intersection of their sets without revealing any additional information to each other. The unbalanced PSI schemes consider a specific setting where a client holds a small set of the size n and a server holds a much larger set of the size m(n ■ m). The communication overhead of state-of-the-art balanced PSI schemes is O(m + n) and the unbalanced PSI schemes are O(nlogm). In this paper, we propose a novel secure unbalanced PSI protocol based on a hash proof system. The communication complexity of our protocol grows only linearly with the size of the small set. In other words, our protocol achieves communication overhead of O(n). We test the performance on a personal computer(PC) machine with a local area network(LAN)setting for the network. The experimental results demonstrate that the client only takes 2.01 s of online computation, 4.27 MB of round trip communication to intersect 1600 pieces of 3.-bit integers with 220pieces of 3.-bit integers with the security parameter λ = 512. Our protocol is efficient and can be applied to resource-constrained devices, such as cell phones.

The continuous development of cyberattacks is threatening digital transformation endeavors worldwide and leadsto wide losses for various organizations. These dangers have proven that signature-based approaches are insufficientto prevent emerging and polymorphic attacks. Therefore, this paper is proposing a Robust Malicious ExecutableDetection (RMED) using Host-based Machine Learning Classifier to discover malicious Portable Executable (PE)files in hosts using Windows operating systems through collecting PE headers and applying machine learningmechanisms to detect unknown infected files. The authors have collected a novel reliable dataset containing 116,03.benign files and 179,071 malware samples from diverse sources to ensure the efficiency of RMED *** most effective PE headers that can highly differentiate between benign and malware files were selected totrain the model on 15 PE features to speed up the classification process and achieve real-time detection formalicious executables. The evaluation results showed that RMED succeeded in shrinking the classification timeto 91 milliseconds for each file while reaching an accuracy of 98.42% with a false positive rate equal to 1.58. Inconclusion, this paper contributes to the field of cybersecurity by presenting a comprehensive framework thatleverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to proactively detect and prevent cyber-attacks.

Text style transfer aims to rephrase a sentence to match the desired style while retaining the original content. As a controllable text generation task, mainstream approaches use content-independent style embedding as control variables to guide stylistic generation. Nonetheless, stylistic properties are contextsensitive even under the same style. For example, “delicious” and “helpful” convey positive sentiments,although they are more likely to describe food and people, respectively. Therefore, desired style signals must vary with the content. To this end, we propose a memory-enhanced transfer method, which learns fine-grained style representation concerning content to assist transfer. Rather than employing static style embedding or latent variables, our method abstracts linguistic characteristics from training corpora and memorizes subdivided content with the corresponding style representations. The style signal is dynamically retrieved from memory using the content as a query, providing a more expressive and flexible latent style space. To address the imbalance between quantity and quality in different content, we further introduce a calibration method to augment memory construction by modeling the relationship between candidate *** results obtained using three benchmark datasets confirm the superior performance of our model compared to competitive approaches. The evaluation metrics and case study also indicate that our model can generate diverse stylistic phrases matching context.

Deep neural networks excel at image identification and computer vision applications such as visual product search, facial recognition, medical image analysis, object detection, semantic segmentation,instance segmentation, and many others. In image and video recognition applications, convolutional neural networks(CNNs) are widely employed. These networks provide better performance but at a higher cost of computation. With the advent of big data, the growing scale of datasets has made processing and model training a time-consuming operation, resulting in longer training times. Moreover, these large scale datasets contain redundant data points that have minimum impact on the final outcome of the model. To address these issues, an accelerated CNN system is proposed for speeding up training by eliminating the noncritical data points during training alongwith a model compression method. Furthermore, the identification of the critical input data is performed by aggregating the data points at two levels of granularity which are used for evaluating the impact on the model *** experiments are conducted using the proposed method on CIFAR-10 dataset on ResNet models giving a 40% reduction in number of FLOPs with a degradation of just 0.11% accuracy.
