Application of Acetabular Reinforcement Ring with Hook for Correction of Segmental Acetabular Rim Defects during Total Hip Arthroplasty Revision

This study investigated the biomechanical micro-motion associated with the application of acetabular reinforcement ring with hook （Ganz ring） for the correction of segmental acetabular rim defects, by finite element analysis. The objective was to determine whether the Ganz ring is suitable for correcting segmental acetabular rim defects at different regions during total hip arthroplasty revision as well as the number of screws required to fix the Ganz ring. A finite element model of the hip joint was generated to simulate and evaluate the insertion and fixation of the Ganz ring and acetabular cup in the context of segmental rim defects in the anterior column, superior portion, and posterior column. Micro-motion was the greatest in the posterior column defect and the least in the anterior column defect. However, the peak stress distribution on the remaining portion of the acetabular rim was the highest in the superior portion defect, following the pos- terior column defect and anterior column defect. Increasing the number of fixations of the Ganz ring did not decrease the micro-motion. We found that the Ganz ring effectively provided biomechanical stability during the reconstruction of the segmental rim defect as long as the screws fixed the Ganz ring well to the host bone.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic liver disease that might affect up to one-third of the adult population in industrialised countries. NAFLD incorporates histologically and clinically different non-alcoholic entities; fatty liver (NAFL, steatosis hepatis) and steatohepatitis (NASH-characterised by hepatocyte ballooning and lobular inflammation ± fibrosis) might progress to cirrhosis and rarely to hepatocellular cancer. NAFL increasingly affects children (paediatric prevalence is 4.2%-9.6%). Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), insulin resistance (IR), obesity, metabolic syndrome and NAFLD are particularly closely related. Increased hepatic lipid storage is an early abnormality in insulin resistant women with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus. The accumulation of triacylglycerols in hepatocytes is predominantly derived from the plasma nonesterified fatty acid pool supplied largely by the adipose tissue. A few NAFLD susceptibility gene variants are associated with progressive liver disease, IR, T2DM and a higher risk for hepatocellular carcinoma. Although not approved, pharmacological approaches might be considered in NASH patients.

Objective:To investigate the inhibitory effect of humanized anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-stealth nanoparticles conjugate on growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma both in vitro and in vivo,which may be a potential agents with sensitivity and targeting ability for human hepatocellular ***:Humanized anli-VECFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-stealth nanoparticles conjugate was previously constructed using ribosome display technology and antibody conjugate *** this combined in vitro and in vivo study,the inhibitory effects of anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-stealth nanoparticles conjugate on tumor growth,invasion,and metastasis was observed with human liver carcinoma cell line Bel7402 and normal cell L02 by MTT assay,Tanswell assay,Hochest33258 staining,and DNA ladder *** anticancer activity and distribution of anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-stealth nanoparticles was then verified in a mouse model of ***:Anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-stealth nanoparticles significantly inhibited the proliferation of Bel7402 in the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yh-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay while had almost no effects on L02 *** the apoptosis inducing effects were proved by Hochest33258 staining and DNA ladder *** assay found that the drug also inhibited the metastasis ability of tumor ***,anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As^-stealth nanoparticles significantly delayed the growth of Bel7402 xenografts after administration（92.9%）,followed by As2O3-stealth nanoparticles,anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv,and As203（61.4%,58.8%,20.5%,P2O3 in anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-steallh nanoparticles group was more ***:Anti-VEGFR-2 ScFv-As2O3-stealth nanoparticles is a potent and selective anti-hepatocellular carcinoma agent which could inhibit the growth of liver cancer as a targeting agent both in vitro and in vivo and also significantly inhibit angiogenesis.

The purpose of regenerative medicine is to restore or enhance the normal function of human cells, tissues, and organs. From a clinical point of view, the use of stem cells is more advantageous than differentiated cells because they can be collected more easily and in larger quantities, their proliferation capacity is more pronounced, they are more resistant in cell culture, their aging is delayed, they are able to form a number of cell lines, and they are able to promote vascularization of tissue carriers. The therapeutic use of stem cells for disease modification, immunomodulation, or regenerative purposes are undoubtedly encouraging, but most studies are still in their early stages, and the clinical results reported are not clear with regard to therapeutic efficacy and potential side effects. Uniform regulation of the clinical application of stem cells is also indispensable for this highly customizable, minimally invasive, individualized therapeutic method to become a successful and safe treatment alternative in many different autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders.
