Côte d’Ivoire is currently experiencing strong growth in the mining sector. Identifying the formations present in our subsoil is therefore essential for mining recovery. It is in this context that we conducted studies on the formations present in the locality of Guintéguéla. It is located in the northwest of Côte d’Ivoire in the bafing region. The aim of this work was to determine the petrographic and structural characteristics of the formations of the area. The methodology began with documentation and then followed petrography and structural analysis work on the macroscopic and microscopic levels. We observed six groups of rocks: granitoids, amphibolites, orthogneiss, quartzites (poor and rich in magnetites), volcano-sediments and filonian rocks. Metamorphism is of amphibolite to granulite facies. However, volcano-sediments must be associated with the green schist facies. With regard to the structural, structures and microstructures such as foliation;fractures;sigmoidal figures reveal that the studied area was affected by ductile and also brittle tectonics whose main directions are oriented along the shear corridor, so N-S to NNW-SSE.

Sedimentary dynamics and depositional model for mud accumulation in deep lake basins:A case study in the Upper Triassic Chang-7 Member, Ordos Basin, northern China

Shales in deep lake basins have become the main focus of continental shale oil and gas exploration. In order to highlight the sedimentary dynamics of mud deposition in deep lake basins, a combination of core observation, thin section examination, X-ray diffraction, and QEMSCAN(quantitative evaluation of minerals by scanning electron microscopy) was used to analyze the depositional characteristics of mudrocks in the Chang-7 Member from the Yanchang Formation(Upper Triassic) in Ordos Basin, and to establish a depositional model for mud accumulation in deep lake basins. This study recognizes four mudrock lithofacies in the Chang-7 Member:(1) the laminated silt-bearing mudstone, which generally develops a binary composition of“silt-clay” or a ternary composition of “silt-clay-organic matter”;(2. the graded mudstone, mainly composed of dark gray and gray-black mudstone sandwiched by silt-bearing mudstone;(3) the massive mudstone, internally showing a uniform distribution of quartz, clay, and carbonate minerals, with also a small amount of organic detritus; and(4) the laminated shale, which is generally composed of clay laminae, and organic laminae of the former two. Sediment supply, topographic slope, and flood intensity combine to control the evolution of gravity flows and the transport and deposition of the mudrock in the Chang-7 Member. The influence of orogeny provides terrain gradient, water depth, abundant sediments at source areas, and triggering mechanism for the formation of gravity flows. Floods triggered by wetting events provide the impetus for sediment transport. Mud deposition in the Chang-7 Member was mainly related to the transport and sedimentation of mud by hyperpycnal flows and rapid sedimentation by buoyant plume flocculation. A comprehensive evolutionary model for shale accumulation in the deep lake basin is established by integrating various triggering mechanisms and mud transport sedimentary processes.

The Bozhong19-6(BZ19-6)condensate gas reservoirs,located in the southwestern Bozhong sub-basin,Bohai Bay Basin,China,were paleo-oil reservoirs in the geological past and have undergone at least three successive hydrocarbon charging *** hydrocarbon migration and accumulation process of“early oil and late gas”has occurred in the current *** the end of the sedimentation of the Guantao Formation(N_(1)g,∼12.Ma),the reservoirs began to fill with first stage low-moderate mature crude *** the late stage of the Lower Minghuazhen Formation(N_(1)ml)(∼6.7 Ma),the reservoirs were largely charged with second stage high mature crude *** the deposition of the upper Minghuazhen Formation(N_(2.m^(u),∼5.1 Ma),the paleo-oil reservoirs were transformed into shallow Neogene reservoirs due to the reactivation of basement *** the late stage of the N_(2.m^(u)to the present day(∼2.8–0 Ma),the reservoirs were rapidly filled by natural gas within a short *** addition,analysis of the formation of the reservoir bitumen and the conspicuous loss of the lower molecular weight n-alkanes in the crude oil reveal that the injection of a large amount of gas in the late stage caused gas flushing of the early charged oil.

Lateral root elongation in maize is related to auxin synthesis and transportation mediated by N metabolism under a mixed NO_(3)^(–) and NH_(4)^(+) supply

A mixed nitrate (NO_(3)^(–)) and ammonium (NH_(4)^(+)) supply can promote root growth in maize (Zea mays),however,the changes in root morphology and the related physiological mechanism under different N forms are still ***,maize seedlings were grown hydroponically with three N supplied in three different forms (NO_(3)^(–)only,75/2. NO_(3)^(–)/NH_(4)^(+)and NH_(4)^(+)only).Compared with sole NO_(3)^(–)or NH_(4)^(+),the mixed N supply increased the total root length of maize but did not affect the number of axial *** main reason was the increased total lateral root length,while the average lateral root (LR) length in each axle was only slightly *** addition,the average LR density of 2.d whorl crown root under mixed N was also *** with sole nitrate,mixed N could improve the N metabolism of roots (such as the N influx rate,nitrate reductase (NR) and glutamine synthase (GS)enzyme activities and total amino content of the roots).Experiments with exogenously added NR and GS inhibitors suggested that the increase in the average LR length under mixed N was related to the process of N assimilation,and whether the NR mediated NO synthesis participates in this process needs further ***,an investigation of the changes in root-shoot ratio and carbon (C) concentration showed that C transportation from shoots to roots may not be the key factor in mediating lateral root elongation,and the changes in the sugar concentration in roots further proved this ***,the synthesis and transportation of auxin in axial roots may play a key role in lateral root elongation,in which the expression of ZmPIN1B and ZmPIN9 may be involved in this *** study preliminarily clarified the changes in root morphology and explored the possible physiological mechanism under a mixed N supply in maize,which may provide some theoretical basis for the cultivation of crop varieties with high N efficiency.

Structural characteristics and tectonic division of the Zambezi Delta basin in the offshore East Africa:evidences from gravity and seismic data

The Zambezi Delta basin is a passive marginal basin located on the East African coast that has good oil and gas exploration *** to the special geological evolutionary background of the Beira High in the Zambezi Delta basin,it has a low gravity anomaly,and the existing seismic survey lines do not cover the whole basin;therefore,it is difficult to interpret the structural characteristics of the whole basin based solely on gravity or seismic *** on satellite altimetry gravity anomaly data,this study infers the distribution characteristics of faults in the Zambezi Delta basin by using the normalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative(NVDR-THDR)***,constrained by seismic data,the gravity anomaly at the Moho interface is extracted by using the fast forward method of the double-interface model of the gravity anomaly,and this anomaly is then removed from the Bouguer gravity anomaly to obtain the sedimentary layer gravity *** thickness of the sedimentary strata is obtained by inversing the sedimentary basement depth of the whole ***,uplifts and depressions are divided based on a sedimentary layer thickness of 3 *** research demonstrates that the Zambezi Delta basin mainly features nearly SN-trending and NE-trending faults and that these faults exhibit east-west *** nearly SN-trending strike-slip faults controlled the sedimentary development of the basin,and the NE-trending tensile faults may have acted as migration channels for oil,gas and ***“overcompensation”effect of the Moho interface gravity anomaly on the gravity anomaly of the sedimentary layer is caused by the depression of the Moho interface beneath the Beira High,which results in a low gravity anomaly value for the Beira *** pattern of uplifts and depressions trends NE and has the structural characteristics of east-west blocks.

The distribution of oil and gas resources is intricately connected to the underlying structure of the ***,investigating the characteristics of lithospheric thickness and its correlation with oil and gas basins is highly *** research utilizes recently enhanced geological–geophysical data,including topographic,geoid,rock layer thickness,variable rock layer density,and interface depth *** the principles of lithospheric isostasy and heat conduction,we compute the laterally varying lithospheric thickness in the China seas and adjacent *** these results,two pivotal parameters for different types of oil and gas basins were statistically analyzed:the minimum lithospheric thickness and the relative fluctuation in lithospheric thickness.A semiquantitative analysis was used to explore the connection between these parameters and the hydrocarbon abundance within the oil and gas *** study unveils distinct variations in lithospheric thickness among basins,with oil and gas rich basins exhibiting a thicker lithosphere in the superimposed basins of central China and a thinner lithosphere in the rift basins of eastern ***,the relative fluctuations in lithospheric thickness in basins demonstrate significant disparities:basins rich in oil and gas often exhibit greater thickness ***,in the offshore basins of China,a conspicuous negative linear correlation is observed between the minimum lithospheric thickness and the relative fluctuation in lithospheric *** study posits that deep-seated thermal upwelling results in lithospheric undulations and extensional thinning in oil and gas ***,sustained deep-seated heat influences sedimentary materials in basins,creating favorable conditions for oil and gas *** insights derived from this study contribute to a quantitative understanding of the intricate relationships between deep lithospheric structures and oil and gas basins.

Extensive land use will cause many environmental *** is an urgent task to improve land use efficiency and optimize land use *** recent years,due to the flow decrease,the Guanzhong Basin in Shaanxi Province is confronted with the problem of insufficient water resources *** on the Coupled Ground-Water and Surface-Water Flow Model(GSFLOW),this paper evaluates the response of water resources in the basin to changes in land use patterns,optimizes the land use pattern,improves the ecological and economic benefits,and the efficiency of various spatial development,providing a reference for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River *** research shows that the land use pattern in the Guanzhong Basin should be further *** the condition of considering ecological and economic development,the percentage change of the optimum area of farmland,forest,grassland,water area,and urban area compared with the current land use area ratio is+2.3,+2.4,-6.1,+0.2.and+1.6,*** economic and ecological value of land increases by14.1%and 3.1%,respectively,and the number of water resources can increase by 2.5%.

Analytical Model for the Palaeoenvironmental Evolution of the Nihewan Beds

In this paper, the evolutional characteristics of palaeoclimate and oxidation-reduction conditions as well asacidity-alkalinity environment are discussed by means of the step-regression, cluster, optimal partitioning andcorrelation analyses of CaCO_3, C / P_2._5, Fe^(2.) / Fe^(3+), pH and Eh values, taking the Xiaodukou section in theNihewan basin as an example. The CaCO_3, C / P_2._5 and pH were calculated respectively using the optimalpartitioning method. Thus five cold zones and six warm zones as well as five reduction and six oxidation zoneswere distinguished. Then the inductive method was used to produce four numerical groups: 8.10, 8.3-8.4,8.6-8.7 and 8.9-8,97. The above-mentioned results are respectively based on CaCO_3 content, C/P_2._5 andpH values. From Fig. 3, Tables 1 and 2.it can be seen that the Nihewan Beds were formed mainly under a re-duction and slightly alkaline environment of cold climate, with pH values of 8.3-8.4. Fig. 3 shows that bed 35is approximately near the boundary between the Brunhes and Matuyama polarity epochs, 0.73 Ma in age; bed2. is roughly near the Jaramillo event (base), 0.97 Ma in age; bed 18 coincides roughly with themagnetostratigraphic boundary of 2.00 Ma (?). Bed 13 may be the Pleistocene-Pliocene boundary, 2.48 Ma inage. Thus geochemical zones Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ include respectively cold zones 1; 2.and 3; 4; and 5.

Understanding the paleoenvironment and phytogeographical history of the Tibetan Plateau,China relies on discovering new plant *** Qaidam Basin has long been regarded as an ideal‘field laboratory’to investigate the paleoclimate and paleobiological evolution of the northern Tibetan ***,fossil angiosperms from the Qaidam Basin are rare,and our knowledge of its paleovegetation is ***,we report fossil leaves and fruits of Betulaceae found from the Oligocene Shangganchaigou Formation of northwestern Qaidam Basin(Huatugou area).Comparative morphological analysis led us to assign the fruits to the Betula subgenus Betula and the leaves to Carpinus *** findings,together with other reported fossil plants from the same locality,reveal a close floristic linkage between the Qaidam Basin and Europe during the *** northern pathway of this floristic exchange may have crossed through the Qaidam Basin during the late *** floristic linkage may have been facilitated by the continuous narrowing of the Turgai Strait and stronger westerlies,which transported moisture and provided favorable climatic ***,fossil plants collected from the Qaidam Basin suggest that during the Oligocene this region had warm and humid deciduous broad-leaf forest,which differs from the region’s modern vegetation and indicates that the Qaidam Basin may have been a suitable region for these plants to flourish and spread during the Oligocene.
