The structural plasticity of synaptic terminals contributes to normal nervous system function but also to neural degeneration, in the form of terminal retraction, and regeneration, due to process growth. Synaptic morphological change is mediated through the actin cytoskeleton, which is enriched in axonal and dendritic terminals. Whereas the three RhoGTPases, RhoA, Cdc42.and Rac, function as upstream signaling nodes sensitive to extracellular stimuli, LIMK-cofilin activity serves as a common downstream effector to up-regulate actin turnover, which is necessary for both polymerization and depolymerization. The dual effects of LIMK activity make LIMK a potential target of therapeutic intervention for iniury-induced synaptic plasticity, as LIMK inhibition can stabilize actin cytoskeleton and preserve existing structure. This therapeutic benefit of LIMK inhibition has been demonstrated in animal models of injury-induced axon retraction and neuritic sprouting by rod photoreceptors. A better understanding of the regulation of LIMK-cofilin activity and the interaction with the microtubular cytoskeleton may open new ways to promote synaptic regeneration that can benefit neuronal degenerative disease.

MnO and CeO2.powders were mechanically mixed by a spatula and by milling to obtain loose-contact and tight-contact mixed oxides,*** monoxides and their physical mixtures were characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller（BET）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）,Raman,O2.temperature-programmed desorption（O2.TPD）,H2.temperature-programmed reduction（H2.TPR） and NO temperature-programmed oxidation（NO-TPO）.The MnOx-CeO2.solid solutions did not form without any calcination *** oxidation state of manganese tended to increase while the ionic valence of cerium decreased in the mixed oxides,accompanied with the formation of oxygen *** long-ranged electronic interaction occured more significantly in the tight-contact mixture of MnO and *** formation of more Mn4＋and oxygen vacancies promoted the catalytic oxidation of NO in an oxygen-rich atmosphere.

Sequential type one pot Nazarov/Michael reaction of pyrrole derivatives has been demonstrated using 5 tool% Fe（C104）3· A12. as catalyst in an ionic liquid as solvent. We succeeded in obtaining 4,5-dihydrocyclopenta[b]pyrrol-6（1H）-one derivative in good yield for five repetitions of the reactions without any addition of the catalyst using an ionic liquid, [bmim][NTf2., as sol- vent system.

A functional microcapsule was prepared by encapsulating the fine crystalline ammonium tungstophosphate （AWP） in calcium alginate polymer （CaALG）. The characterization of AWP-CaALG microcapsule was examined by SEM and EPMA. The ad- sorption behavior of Cs（Ⅰ）, Rb（Ⅰ）, Sr（Ⅱ）, Pd（II）, Ru（Ⅲ）, Rh（Ⅲ）, La（Ⅲ）, Ce（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ） and Zr（IV） was investigated by the batch method. The batch experiments were carried out by varying the shaking times, HNO3 concentration, and initial concen- tration of metal ions. Relatively large K＋ values above 105 cm3/g for Cs（I） were obtained in the range of 0.1-5 M HNO3, re- sulting in a separation factor of Cs/Rb exceeding 102. In contrast, the K＋ values of Sr（II）, Pd（II）, Ru（Ⅲ）, La（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ）, Ce（Ⅲ） and Zr（IV） were considerably lower than 50 cm3/g. The K＋ value of Cs（1） decreased in the order of the coexisting ions, H＋〉 Na＋〉〉 NH4＋, and a linear relationship with a slop of about -1 was obtained between log Kd and log [NH4＋] （[NH4＋] 〉 0.01 M） The adsorption of Cs（I） was found to be controlled by chemisorption mechanism, and followed a Langmuir-type adsorption equation. A high uptake percentage of 99.4% for Cs（I） was obtained by using the dissolved solutions of spent fuel from FBR-JOYO （JAEA）.

AIM:To clarify whether nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)increases the risk of cardiovascular ***:We carried out a prospective observational study with a total of 1637 apparently healthy Japanese men and women who were recruited from a health check-up *** was diagnosed by abdominal *** metabolic syndrome(MS)was defined according to the modified National Cholesterol Education Program(NCEP)ATP Ⅲ *** years after the baseline evaluations,the incidence of cardiovascular disease was assessed by a self-administered ***:Among 12.1 participants available for outcome analyses,the incidence of cardiovascular disease was higher in 2.1 subjects with NAFLD at baseline(5 coronary heart disease,6 ischemic stroke,and 1 cerebral hemorrhage)than 990 subjects without NAFLD(3 coronary heart disease,6 ischemic stroke,and 1 cerebral hemorrhage).Multivariate analyses indicated that NAFLD was a predictor of cardiovascular disease independent of conventional risk factors(odds ratio 4.12.95% CI,1.58 to 10.75,P = 0.004).MS was alsoindependently associated with cardiovascular *** simultaneous inclusion of NAFLD and MS in a multivariate model revealed that NAFLD but not MS retained a statistically significant correlation with cardiovascular ***:Although both of them were predictors of cardiovascular disease,NAFLD but not MS retained a statistically significant correlation with cardiovascular disease in a multivariate *** is a strong predictor of cardiovascular disease and may play a central role in the cardiovascular risk of MS.
