High-silica granitoids record the formation and evolution of the continental crust.A new intrusive complex has been recognized among silicic volcanic rocks of the Weixi arc,Southwest *** intrusions consist of granites,granitic porphyries,and *** U-Pb age data indicate that the Weixi granitoids formed at 2.8-2.0 Ma and were coeval with silicic volcanic rocks of the Weixi *** Weixi granitoids are enriched in Rb,Th,and U,depleted in Ba,Sr,Nb,Ta,and Ti,and have high light/heavy rare earth element ratios and slightly negative Eu *** Weixi granitoids have negative ε_(Nd)(t)values(-9.8 to-7.8)and negative zircon ε_(Hf)(t)values(-12.02.to-5.11).The geochemical and isotopic features suggest the Weixi granitoids were derived by partial melting of ancient crustal *** Weixi granitoids and silicic volcanic rocks were derived from the same magma by crystal accumulation and melt extraction,respectively,and they record the formation of a continental arc in the central Sanjiang orogenic belt.

The Moon has been divided into three terranes:Procellarum KREEP Terrane(PKT),Feldspathic Highland Terrane(FHT),and South Pole-Aitken Terrane(SPAT),using globally measured Th and *** lunar evolu-tion models have predicted that a lunar magma ocean will produce a residual layer enriched in incompatible elements such as K,REE,and P(i.e.,KREEP)in the late age of crys-tallization;and that the distribution of thorium can be used as a proxy for determining the global distribution of *** thorium distribution in these three terranes is *** highest concentration of thorium is in PKT,the medium concentration of thorium is in SPAT,and almost none in *** what is the specific distribution in each of the terrane and what enlightenment can it tell us?Here we present and describe the detailed thorium distribution in PKT,SPAT,and FHT and provide some information for the origin of asymmetries on the lunar surface.

The tectonic evolution and history of continental accretion of the eastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB)are not yet fully *** this study,we investigate Permian intrusive rocks from the Jiamusi Block of the eastern CAOB to constrain the tectonic evolution and continental accretion of this region during the late-stage evolution of the Paleo-Asian *** new data show that Early Permian gabbro-diorites were derived from the partial melting of depleted mantle metasomatized by oceanic-slab-released *** Permian adakitic granites have low Na2. and MgO and high K2. contents,indicating a thickened-lower-crust *** Permian S-type granites were derived from the partial melting of continental crust.A compilation of the available geochronological data for Permian intrusive rocks(including adakitic and A-,S-,and I-type granites and mafic rocks)from the eastern CAOB reveals that the A-type granites formed mainly during the Early–Middle Permian,S-type and adakitic granites mostly during the Middle–Late Permian,and I-type granites and mantle-derived mafic rocks throughout the *** A-type granites,which are proposed to have been sourced from thinned continental crust,indicate an extensional setting in the eastern CAOB during the Early *** Middle–Late Permian adakitic granites imply a thickened continental crust,which indicates a compressional ***,the eastern CAOB underwent a transition from extension to compression during the Middle Permian,which was probably triggered by the late-stage subduction of Paleo-Asian oceanic *** the petrogenesis of the intrusive rocks and inferred regional tectonic evolution of the eastern CAOB,we propose that vertical underplating of mantle-and oceanic-slabderived magmas contributed the materials for continental crust accretion.

Numerous sedimentary phosphorites in Southwest China were formed around the Precambrian–Cambrian transition(PC–C),including the upper Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation and lower Cambrian Gezhongwu *** Gezhongwu phosphorites in Zhijin exhibit marked rare earth element(REE)enrichment(>1000 ppm),and may represent new REE *** the main characteristics of the Gezhongwu phosphorites have been well constrained,the REE enrichment mechanisms remain *** undertook a comparative study of three typical sedimentary phosphorites with variable REE contents formed at the PC–C transition in central Guizhou Province,Southwest *** include sections A and B of the Doushantuo phosphorites(560±8 Ma)from the Weng’an area(i.e.,WA-A and WA-B),and the Gezhongwu phosphorites(52.±2. Ma)from the Zhijin area(ZJ).The phosphorites were investigated with state-of-the-art macroscale to nanoscale analytical *** contrast to the extraordinary REE enrichment in the ZJ phosphorites(average RREE=1157 ppm),the phosphorites in WA-A(average RREE=2.4 ppm)and WA-B(average RREE=114 ppm)are *** mapping by laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry,along with transmission electron microscopy analyses,showed the REEs in the studied phosphorites are hosted in nanoscale *** 87Sr/86Sr and Y/Ho ratios of the francolite grains indicate that greater terrigenous input may have led to more REE enrichment in the WA-A than WA-B phosphorites,but this cannot explain the extraordinary REE enrichment in the ZJ *** F/P_(2.O_(5)values of the francolite grains in the ZJ phosphorites(~0.097)are higher than those in the WA-A(~0.084)and WA-B(~0.084)phosphorites,and the grain size of the francolite in the ZJ phosphorites(~89.9 nm)is larger than those in the WA-A(~56.6 nm)and WA-B(~57.4 nm)phosphorites,indicative of more intense reworking of the ZJ than WA phosphorites during early diagenesis.A plot of Nd concentration versus Ce/Ce^(*)r

Geology and genesis of the Aqishan Pb-Zn deposit,NW China:Insights from mineralogy,geochemistry,and in situ U-Pb geochronology

The unique ore-forming processes and the key factors responsible for formation of skarn deposits are still obscure,and challenges exist in the determination of timing of Pb-Zn skarns owing to lacking suitable mineral *** we present detailed paragenesis,bulk geochemistry,in situ U-Pb dating of zircon and garnet,and garnet oxygen isotopes together with in situ zircon Hf-O isotopes from the newly discovered Aqishan Pb-Zn deposit in the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB),northwest *** comprehensive data set revealed a Late Carboniferous subduction-related distal Pb-Zn skarn system associated with the granitic ***-ore stage garnets are generally subhedral to euhedral with oscillatory zoning and show slightly fractionated rare earth element patterns with positive Eu anomalies that point to an infiltration metasomatism origin under high water/rock *** syn-ore stage sphalerite is typically enriched in Mn and Cd and has moderate Zn/Cd ratios(337–482.,with a formation temperature of 2.5℃to 383℃,which indicate magmatic-hydrothermal *** isocons defined by P_(2.O_(5)decipher that the principal factors for skarn formation were elevated activities of Fe,Ca,and Si species,where remobilization of Pb metals,meanwhile,contributed to ore-forming budgets to mineralizing *** U-Pb dating of zircons from granite porphyry that occurs distal to the skarns and Pb-Zn orebodies shows that these intrusions emplaced at ca.311.3–310.6 Ma,recording the subduction of the Paleo-Tianshan oceanic *** garnets in close textural association with Pb-Zn sulfides yield indistinguishable in situ LA-ICP-MS U-Pb ages of 310.5±4.1 ***-rock geochemistry and in situ zircon Hf-O isotopes(δ^(18)O=4.6‰–6.0‰)indicate that the granite porphyry was derived from partial melting of juvenile crust and influenced by subducted oceanic *** isotope compositions of garnets(δ^(18)O=8.0‰–9.0‰)demonstrate that the equilibrated ore fluids

In recent years,the issue of PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution has become a significant global environmental *** study examines the spatial and temporal patterns of global PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution and exposure risks,firstly at the global and urban scale,using spatial statistical regression,exposure risk assessment,and trend analyses based on the datasets of daily PM_(2.5)and surface O_(3)concentrations monitored in 12. cities around the world from 2.19 to ***,on the basis of the common emission sources,spatial heterogeneity,interacting chemical mechanisms,and synergistic exposure risk levels between PM_(2.5)and O_(3)pollution,we proposed a synergistic PM_(2.5)-O_(3)control framework for the joint control of PM_(2.5)and *** results indicated that:(1)Nearly 50%of cities worldwide were affected by PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution,with China,South Korea,Japan,and India being the global hotspots for PM2.5-O3 compound pollution;(2.Cities with PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution have exposure risk levels dominated by ST t ST(Stabilization)and ST t HR(High Risk).Exposure risk levels of compound pollution in developing countries are significantly higher than those in developed countries,with unequal exposure characteristics;(3)The selected cities showed significant positive spatial correlations between PM_(2.5)and O_(3)concentrations,which were consistent with the spatial distribution of the precursors NOx and VOCs;(4)During the study period,52.5%of cities worldwide achieved synergistic reductions in annual average PM_(2.5)and O_(3)*** average PM_(2.5)concentration in these cities decreased by 13.97%,while the average O_(3)concentration decreased by 19.18%.This new solution offers the opportunity to construct intelligent and healthy cities in the upcoming low–carbon transition.
