Synthesis of granulated Li_(1.33)Mn_(1.67)O_(4) via two antisolvent methods for lithium adsorption from gas-produced water

Gas-produced water is an accompanying wastewater in the natural gas extraction process,and it is a potential liquid lithium resource that contains a considerable amount of *** study investigated the feasibility of using manganese-based ion sieves to adsorb and extract lithium from gas-produced *** we focused on the applicability of two different granulation methods,extrusion and droplet,in gas-produced water *** types of H_(1.33)Mn_(1.67)O_(4) particles were prepared by the extrusion method(EHMO)and the droplet method(dHMO).The porosity of dHMO was much higher than that of EHMO,and the adsorption performance of dHMO increased with the decrease of binder *** prepared with a binder concentration of 0.14 g·ml^(-1)exhibited the best adsorption performance in gas-produced water,and the Li^(+)adsorption capacity could reach 2..14 mg·g^(-1).In gas-produced water,the adsorption equilibrium of dHMO only took 9 h,and the adsorption process conformed to the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetic *** pore diffusion model(PdM)could well describe its adsorption ***,dHMO showed a great selectivity to Li^(+),and the selectivity order of dHMO in gas-produced water was Li^(+)>Ba^(2.)>>Mg^(2.),Ca^(2.),Sr^(2.)>>Na^(+)>>K^(+).After 2. cycles,the Li^(+)adsorption capacity was still higher than 17.30 mg·g^(-1),and the rate of manganese dissolution was less than 1%.

Field stabilization of pulse duration in a hundredfemtosecond level

Pulse duration is considered as one of the most important characteristics of high-power femtosecond ***,pulses output from the laser system are susceptible to ambient changes and manifest the instability of pulse durations in an open *** this paper,incorporating the algorithmic framework of the improved stochastic hill-climbing search and incremental proportional-integral controller,temperature-induced fluctuations of pulse duration can be effectively compensated by an automatic feedback control in an all-fiber chirped-pulse amplification *** the experiment,sub-hundred femtosecond fluctuation of pulse duration is introduced to verify the performance robustness of the proposed pulse-duration feedback control(PdFC).The stability of pulse duration is obviously higher than the case without the feedback control,and the peak-to-peak fluctuation of pulse duration is reduced to 6.5%.Furthermore,the robust switching between different pulse durations proves the versatility of the *** expect that the proposed feedback control method could provide a novel insight into high-power femtosecond lasers widely applied in fundamental researches and industrial fields.

Atomically precise ru-O-ru clusters for enhanced water dissociation in alkaline hydrogen evolution

Atomic clusters typically exhibit distinctive electronic structures and physicochemical ***,as the size decreases,their ability to adsorb and dissociate water also diminishes,thereby affecting chemical reactions involving water *** the adsorption and dissociation capabilities of atomic clusters towards water molecules and elucidating the mechanisms underlying their performance enhancement have become important research ***,employing the carrier-anchored strategy,ru-O-ru atomic clusters were prepared and displayed excellent activity and durability in the hydrogen evolution ***,the ru-O-ru atomic clusters exhibited only 86 mV overpotential at 100 mA·cm−^(2. and superior membrane-electrode-assembly activity than commercial ru/C *** radiation-based Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic measurements revealed that the modification of oxygen in ru-O-ru units promoted the reorientation of water molecules from a H-up orientation to H-down,therefore,enhanced the formation of strong hydrogen-bond network of interfacial water on the surface of ru-O-ru clusters,leading to enhanced adsorption and dissociation of water and accelerated Volmer *** findings provide a potential strategy and deep insights for the development of atomic clusters in electrocatalysts.

New structure transistors for advanced technology node CMOS ICs

Over recent decades, advancements in complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor integrated circuits(ICs)have mainly relied on structural innovations in transistors. From planar transistors to the fin field-effect transistor(FinFET) and gate-all-around FET(GAAFET), more gate electrodes have been added to three-dimensional(3d) channels with enhanced control and carrier conductance to provide higher electrostatic integrity and higher operating currents within the same device footprint. Beyond the 1-nm node, Moore's law scaling is no longer expected to be applicable to geometrical shrinkage. Vertical transistor stacking, e.g. in complementary FETs(CFET), 3d stack(3dS) FETs and vertical-channel transistors(VFET), for enhanced density and variable circuit or system design represents a revolutionary scaling approach for sustained IC development. Herein, innovative works on specific structures, key process breakthroughs, shrinking cell sizes and design methodologies for transistor structure research and development are reviewed. Perspectives on future innovations in advanced transistors with new channel materials and operating theories are also discussed.

Hydrogels have been extensively studied for applications in various fields, such as tissue engineering and soft robotics, as determined by their mechanical properties. The mechanical design of hydrogels typically focuses on the modulus, toughness, and deformability. These characteristics play important roles and make great achievements for hydrogel use. In recent years, a growing body of research has concentrated on the fatigue property of hydrogels, which determines their resistance to crack propagation in the networks during cyclic mechanical loads for applications. However, knowledge of hydrogel fatigue behavior remains notably deficient. Here, we present a brief overview of the fatigue behavior of hydrogels, encompassing the general experimental methods to measure the fatigue property and fundamental theoretical calculation models. Then, we highlight multiple strategies to enhance the fatigue resistance of hydrogels. Finally, we present our perspectives on fatigue-resistant hydrogels, outstanding challenges and potential directions for future research.
