Coordinatively unsaturated cobalt single-atom nanozymes for visual pesticides detection by smartphone-based platform

By adjusting the coordination environment of single-atom catalysts,the enzyme-like activity can be finely tuned for highly sensitive ***,we demonstrated that coordinatively unsaturated cobalt-nitrogen sites doped within porous carbon(SA-CoN_(3))could serve as highly efficient oxidase *** with the typical planar four-coordination structure(SA-CoN_(4)),the as-obtained single-atom Co nanozymes anchored by three nitrogen atoms are found to display much higher oxidase-like catalytic *** theoretical and experimental analysis revealed that the coordinatively unsaturated Co sites could facilitate adsorption and activation of O_(2. molecule and thus improve their oxidase-like *** on the enhanced oxidase-like activity of SA-CoN_(3),a paper/smartphone sensor for organophosphorus pesticides(OPs)was successfully constructed and used to quantify glyphosate in environmental and food samples with a low detection limit of 0.66μ*** work not only highlights the important role of coordination unsaturation of SA nanozymes for promoting oxidase-like activity,but also provides an easy and cost-effective way to conduct effective quantification of OPs in the field.

Soil remediation containing numerous organic contaminants is of great significance to ecological ***,the synergetic effects of Ce-Mn/Al2.3with different active components on catalytic thermal desorption of chlorobenzene in soil were *** optimized Ce-Mn/Al2.3drastically enhance the desorption efficiency of chlorobenzene,and the corresponding conversion reaches 100%within 1 h at a low temperature of 12.℃.The superior performance is ascribed to the formation of Ce-Mn solid solution during the calcination process,resulting in a certain lattice change to the generation of abundant oxygen vacancies and acidic *** with the analysis of in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,the final products of chlorobenzene are decomposed into CO2.H2.,Cl2.nd *** work sheds light on the rational design of highly-active catalysts for practical applications of sustainable soil remediation.

WC-10Co cemented carbides with finer WC and narrower grain size distributions are produced by using(Cr,V)_(2.(C,N)as grain growth *** a result,with the increase of(Cr_(0.9),V_(0.1))_(2.(C,N)and(V_(0.9),Cr_(0.1))_(2.(C,N),the grains size of WC and mean free path of Co phase decrease,and adjacency of WC *** and homogenization of grains enhance the transverse rupture strength(TRS)and the ***,the deflection and bridging of cracks keep the fracture toughness at a respectable *** WC-10Co-0.6(Cr_(0.9),V_(0.1))_(2.(C,N)-0.02.(V_(0.9),Cr_(0.1))_(2.(C,N)cemented carbides exhibit excellent comprehensive mechanical properties with the TRS of 4602.6 MPa,hardness of 1835 kg/mm^(2.,and fracture toughness of 10.39 MPa·m^(1/2.,***,the large pores are caused by excess N larger than 0.03 wt%and deteriorates the mechanical *** provide a new approach to WC-Co cemented carbides preparation with a narrow grain size distribution by adding novel grain growth inhibitors.

High-entropy diborides(HEBs)are considered as promising high-temperature structure materials owing to their high melting point and excellent thermal ***,the intrinsic brittleness is the main obstacle that seriously limits their practical *** overcome with this obstacle,carbon fibers(Cf)with outstanding mechanical properties are used in the present work as a first attempt to improve the damage tolerance of *** as-prepared C_(f)/(Ti_(0.2.Zr_(0.2.Hf_(0.2.Nb_(0.2.Ta_(0.2.)B_(2.–SiC composite(C_(f)/HEB–SiC)shows high relative density(97.9%)and good mechanical properties with flexural strength of 411±3 MPa and fracture toughness of 6.15±0.11 MPa·m^(1/2..More importantly,the damage tolerance parameter(Dt)has increased from 0.10 m^(1/2. for HEB–SiC to 0.2. m^(1/2. for C_(f)/HEB–*** microstructural analysis and Vickers indentation of the composite,the toughening mechanisms are *** carbon fibers coated with carbon coatings demonstrate unique capacity for prolonging the crack propagation path,which promotes the reliability of the composite ***,the C_(f)/(Ti_(0.2.Zr_(0.2.Hf_(0.2.Nb_(0.2.Ta_(0.2.)B_(2.–SiC composite also exhibits good static oxidation resistance in the temperature range of 1100–1500℃in air due to the formation of the protective oxide layer constituting of multicomponent oxides(Zr)HfTiO4 and(Zr)Hf_(6)Ta_(2.O_(17) embedded in a continuous SiO_(2. *** results are promising,and this primary work can be used as a reference to the synthesis of C_(f)/HEBs for thermal protection materials under hightemperature serving conditions.

The A_(2.B_(2.O_(7)-type rare earth zirconate compounds have been considered as promising candidates for thermal barrier coating(TBC) materials because of their low sintering rate,improved phase stability,and reduced thermal conductivity in contrast with the currently used yttria-partially stabilized zirconia (YSZ) in high operating temperature *** review summarizes the recent progress on rare earth zirconates for TBCs that insulate high-temperature gas from hot-section components in gas *** on the first principles,molecular dynamics,and new data-driven calculation approaches,doping and high-entropy strategies have now been adopted in advanced TBC materials *** this paper,the solid-state heat transfer mechanism of TBCs is explained from two aspects,including heat conduction over the full operating temperature range and thermal radiation at medium and high *** paper also provides new insights into design considerations of adaptive TBC materials,and the challenges and potential breakthroughs are further highlighted for extreme environmental *** for improving thermophysical performance are proposed in two approaches:defect engineering and material compositing.

Compared with the traditional industrial nitrogen fixation, electrocatalytic methods, especially those utilizing double-atom catalysts containing nonmetals, can give good consideration to the economy and environmental protection. However, the existing “acceptance-donation” mechanism is only applicable to bimetallic catalysts and nonmetallic double-atom catalysts containing boron atoms. Herein, a novel “capture-activation-recapture” mechanism for metal-nonmetal double-atom catalyst is proposed to solve the problem by adjusting the coordination environments of nonmetallic atoms and utilizing the activation effect of metal atoms on nitrogen. Based on this mechanism, the nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) activity of 48 structures is calculated by density functional theory calculation, and four candidates are selected as outstanding electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction catalysts: Si-Fe@NG (U_(L) = –0.14 V), Si-Co@NG (U_(L)= –0.15 V), Si-Mo@BP1 (U_(L) = 0 V), and Si-Re@BP1 (U_(L) = –0.02.V). The analyses of electronic properties further confirm “capture-activation-recapture” mechanism and suggest that the difference in valence electron distribution between metal and Si atoms triggers the activation of N≡N bonds. In addition, a machine learning approach is utilized to generate an expression and an intrinsic descriptor that considers the coordination environment to predict the limiting potential. This study offers profound insight into the synergistic mechanism of TM and Si for NRR and guidance in the design of novel double-atom nitrogen fixation catalysts.
