Surgical outcome comparisons of multifocal IOLs of Lentis Comfort LS-313 MF15 and Tecnis Eyhance DIB00V

AIM:To compare the surgical outcomes of a multifocal intraocular lens(IOL;Lentis Comfort LS-313 MF15)with those of an enhanced monofocal IOL(Tecnis Eyhance DIB00V).METHODS:This retrospective study included patients who underwent cataract surgery with LS-313 MF15 or Eyhance IOL *** regarding patient demographics,surgical records,and ophthalmic examination before the cataract surgery and one and three months postoperatively were *** acuities,refractive values,defocus curves,contrast sensitivities and subjective symptoms were ***:Among the 71 eyes(47 patients)included in this study,32 eyes(20 patients)underwent LS-313 MF15 IOL implantation,and 39 eyes(27 patients)underwent Eyhance IOL *** significant differences were observed in age,axial length,or refractive error between the two groups ***,the distancecorrected and uncorrected distance visual acuities one month postoperatively did not differ between the groups,and both groups had sufficient visual acuities at the distances of 5,1 m,70,50,and 30 *** ophthalmic data,including subjective symptoms based on the 14-item Visual Function Index Questionnaire,monocular defocus curves,contrast sensitivities,and halo and glare,did not differ between the groups three months ***,both groups had good *** spherical equivalent one month postoperatively was significantly myopic in the LS-313 MF15 group compared with that in the Eyhance group(P=0.033);however,this difference was not observed three months postoperatively(P=0.471).CONCLUSION:Comparison of the surgical outcomes of LS-313 MF15 with those of Eyhance with different optical properties reveal that both IOLs show good postoperative outcomes,with no significant differences being noted between the two IOLs.

Compression tests at room and high temperature and creep tests at high temperature have been performed on B2 Nb15A120V and Nb10Al20V alloys. At room temperature, in the as-cast state, both alloys exhibited significant ductility in compression. The Burgers vectors of the dislocations were found to be 1/2lipping on {112}. The dislocations showed good mobility. Dislocation clusters also triggered the formation of pseudotwins, which resulted in serrated yielding. In steady state creep, deformation occurred by a combination of dislocation glide and climb, giving a homogeneous mi-crostructure. The dislocations in NblOAl20V were determined to be 1/2(111) slipping on {110} with some egments. After creep at 1100℃, Nb 15A120V showed a two phase structure with a few dislocations in the A15 phase but no dislocations in the A2 phase.

Dear Editor,Numerous aspects of ecosystem ecology are influenced by insects(Prasad,2022).Herbivory of plant organs by insects may influence the biogeochemistry of forests by changing the speed of litter decomposition(Schowalter,2022).Cycas micronesica *** is the only native gymnosperm in the Mariana *** once-abundant tree experienced no known lethal threats prior to the 2003 invasion of Guam by the scale Aulacaspis yasumatsui Takagi(Marler,2012).This insular case study has been the subject of abundant research(Marler et al.,2021).Changes to leaf litter chemistry improved litter quality following *** infestations(Marler and Dongol,2016),but the prediction of increased decomposition speed has not been confirmed with experimental incubations.

Relating estimates of wood properties of birch to stem form, age and species

Birch has long suffered from a lack of active forest management,leading many researchers to use mate-rial without a detailed management *** collected from three birch(Betula pendula Roth,*** Ehrh.)sites in southern Sweden were analyzed using regression analysis to detect any trends or differences in wood proper-ties that could be explained by stand history,tree age and stem *** sites were genetics trials established in the same *** of acoustic velocity(AV)from non-destructive testing(NDT)and predicted AV had a higher correlation if data was pooled across sites and other stem form factors were considered.A subsample of stems had radial profiles of X-ray wood density and ring width by year created,and wood density was related to ring number from the pith and ring *** seemed likely that wood density was negatively related to ring width for both birch *** models had slight improvements if site and species were included,but only the youngest site with trees at age 15 had both birch *** paper indicated that NDT values need to be considered separately,and any predictive models will likely be improved if they are specific to the site and birch species measured.

The Last 15,000 Years: Climate-Controlled and “Rare-Event”-Triggered/Rise and Fall of Holocene Cultures in the Near/Middle East and in Central Europe—Evidence and Background

Pushed by the results of a preceding publication on the possibly Quaternary Jebel Waqf as Suwwan Meteorite Crater, Jordan [5], where an amazing coincidence of Rapid Climate Changes (RCCs) with Rise and Fall of Neolithic and Bronze Age Cultures became evident for the Near/Middle East, this paper deals with the same subject, however, relating to the complete Holocene period in the same area and, additionally, in Central Europe as well. By application of modern climatic data [6] comprising isotope analysis (δ18O, 14C, 10Be), acid and aerosol events, and greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4) Greenland ice cores as well as other astro-/geophysical and geological parameters, an overwhelming coincidence/relation/interdependence of both natural and cultural evidences becomes obvious throughout the last 15,000 years across the Northern Hemisphere. Apart from solar output and other astrophysical processes, most important climate- and Earth-related parameters are Mega-Volcanism (*** Greece: ~3640 yr cal. B. P.), Impact Events (i.e. during Mesolithic: ~9600 yr cal. B. P), rapid oceanic current change (DO-Events), and Plate Tectonics (possibly Atlantis-Event: ~11,500 yr cal. B.P. = Pleistocene/Holocene boundary). The most essential parameter is a significant temperature change related to more or less restricted latitude realms of the Northern Hemisphere. Thus, glacier advance/retreat controls the mobility of peoples (i.e. Nations' Migration, Teutonic Empires) and the access to ore deposits (Au, Ag, Cu, Sn, Zn, Pb, Fe) located in Alpine Mountain Ranges (i.e. End-Neolithic, Early Bronze Age). Myths like the Gilgamesh Epos and John Apocalypse convincingly reveal realistic contents relating to natural hazards like tsunamis, impact and flooding events. They unmisunderstandably make obvious that Myths may provide valuable contributions, especially to Geosciences. Continuous flow pyrolysis of virgin and waste polyolefins:a comparative study,process optimization and product characterization

Under optimal process conditions,pyrolysis of polyolefins can yield ca.90 wt%of liquid product,i.e.,combination of light oil fraction and heavier *** this work,the experimental findings reported in a selected group of publications concerning the non-catalytic pyrolysis of polyolefins were collected,reviewed,and compared with the ones obtained in a continuously operated bench-scale pyrolysis *** process parameters were used for the pyrolysis of waste and virgin counterparts of high-density polyethylene,low-density polyethylene,polypropylene and a defined mixture of those(i.e.,25:25:50 wt%,respectively).To mitigate temperature drops and enhance heat transfer,an increased feed intake is employed to create a hot melt plastic *** 1.5 g·min^(-1) feed intake,1.1 L·min^(-1) nitrogen flow rate,and a moderate pyrolysis temperature of 450℃,the formation of light hydrocarbons was favored,while wax formation was limited for polypropylene-rich *** of virgin plastics yielded more liquid(maximum 73.3 wt%)than that of waste plastics(maximum 66 wt%).Blending polyethylenes with polypropylene favored the production of liquids and increased the formation of gasoline-range *** products were mainly composed of C3 hydrocarbons,and no hydrogen production was detected due to moderate pyrolysis temperature.
