Petrogenesis of the Granites in the Yandangshan Area, Southeastern China: Constraints from SHRIMP U-Pb Zircon Age and Trace Elements, and Sr-Nd-Hf Isotopic Data

New geochemical and geochronological data of two types of granites,which are located in Yandangshan area,southeastern zhejiang province,were presented to constrain their magma condition,origin and the genetic relationship between *** SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating of Dongshan and Hesheng granite in Yandangshan area shows that they were formed at 114±1 and 103±2 Ma,*** from the Dongshan granite have high Si O2(76.4 wt.%–76.9 wt.%)and total alkaline(K2O+Na2O=8.35 wt.%–8.47 wt.%)contents,but low Fe OT(0.89 wt.%–1.15 wt.%),Mg O(0.21 wt.%–0.22wt.%),and Ca O(0.24 wt.%–0.34 wt.%)contents and high A/CNK(~1.1)values,belonging to the peraluminous and magnesian *** Hesheng granite has high Si O2(72.2 wt.%–77.5 wt.%),total alkaline(K2O+Na2O=8.05 wt.%–9.41 wt.%)and Fe OT contents(1.20–2.06),and high A/CNK values(1.0–1.1),but low in Mg O(0.12 wt.%–0.29 wt.%)and Ca O(0.24 wt.%–0.34 wt.%)*** from the Hesheng granite also have high Fe OT/Mg O(6.9–10.0)and 10 000×Ga/Al(2.6–3.4)ratios similar to the ferroan/A-type *** the samples are enriched in LREE but have produced negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu*Dongshan=0.45–0.47;Eu/Eu*Hesheng=0.17–0.55),Ba,Nb,and Ta,while the REE contents of the ferroan/A-type granite(Hesheng)are higher than that of the magnesian granite(Dongshan).the(87Sr/86Sr)i value of the magnesian granite is slightly higher than that of the ferroan/A-type granite and itsεNd(t)value(-6.8)is lower than the latter(-6.0–-5.9).In addition,theεHf(t)value(-11.8–-4.2)of magnesian granite is also lower than that of the ferroan/A-type granite(-8.3–-2.0),indicating that there may be more mantle-derived components in the source area of the ferroan/A-type *** saturation thermometer(TZr)and Ti-in-zircon thermometer(TZircon)are used to estimate the temperature of the magma source,and the results show that the magma temperature of the magnesian granite(average TZr=798oC;average TZircon=792oC)is lower than that of the ferroan/A-type grani

Characteristics of Ore-forming Fluid of the Gaoshan Gold-Silver Deposit in the Longquan Area, zhejiang province and its Implications for the Ore Genesis

the Gaoshan gold-silver deposit, located between the Yuyao-Lishui Fault and Jiangshan- Shaoxing fault in Longquan Area, occurs in the Suichang-Longquan gold-silver polymetallic metallogenic belt. this study conducted an investigation for ore-forming fluids using microthermometry, D-O isotope and trace element. the results show that two types of fluid inclusions involved into the formation of the deposit are pure liquid phase and gas-liquid phase aqueous inclusions. the homogenization temperature and salinity of major mineralization phase ranges from 156~C to 236~C （average 200~C） and 0.35% to 8.68% （NaCleqv）（average 3.68%）, respectively, indicating that the ore-forming fluid is characteristic of low temperature and low salinity. the ore- forming pressure ranges between in 118.02 to 232.13＂105 pa, and it is estabmiated that the ore- forming depth ranges from 0.39 to 0.77 km, indicating it is a hypabyssal deposit in genesis. the low rare earth elements content in pyrites, widely developed fluorite in late ore-forming stage and lack of chlorargyrite （AgCI）, indicates that the ore-forming fluid is rich in F rather than CI. the ratios of Y/ Ho, Zr/Hf and Nb/Ta of between different samples have little difference, indicating that the later hydrothermal activities had no effects on the former hydrothermal fluid. the chondrite-normalized REE patterns of pyrites from country rocks and ore veins are basically identical, with the characteristics of light REE enrichment and negative Eu anomalies, implying that the ore-forming fluid was oxidative and derived partly from the country rocks. the JD and jlSo of fluid inclusions in quartz formed during the main metallogenic stage range from -105%o to -69 %0 and -6.01%o to -3.81%o, respectively. the D-O isotopic diagram shows that the metallogenic fluid is characterized by the mixing of formation water and meteoric water, without involvement of magmatic water. the geological and geochemical characteristics of the Gaoshan gold-silver d

Activity evolution of landslides and debris flows after the Wenchuan earthquake in the Qipan catchment,Southwest China

the Wenchuan earthquake that occurred on 12 May 2008 induced numerous *** landslide materials were deposited on hillslopes,and deep channels were easily remobilized and transformed into debris flows by extreme *** years after the Wenchuan earthquake,debris flows were still active in the Qipangou Ravine in the quake-hit *** this paper,we continuously tracked the spatiotemporal evolution of the landslides and vegetation restoration and evaluated the evolution of debris flow activity in the Qipan catchment with the aid of a GIS platform and field investigations from 2008 to *** observed that the area with active landslides increased sharply immediately following the earthquake,and then decreased with time;however,the total area of landslides continued to increase from 6.93 km^(2)in 2008 to 10.55 km^(2)in *** active landslides shifted towards lower angles and higher elevations after *** 2009,the vegetation coverage has been gradually increasing and approaching the coverage present before the earthquake as of *** landslide activity was high and the vegetation recovery rates were rapidly rising during the first five years after the earthquake;the recovery rates then slowed over ***,we divided the evolution that occurred during the post landslide period into an active period(2008-2013),a self-adjustment period(2013-2026)and a stable period(after 2026).We then proposed a quantitative model to determine the trends of landslide activity rates and NDVI values in the catchment,which indicated that the landslide activities and postseismic vegetation restoration rates in this catchment will return to preseismic levels within approximately two *** also analysed the runout volumes of the debris flows after the earthquakes(Diexi and Wenchuan)and the standard deviation of the vegetation coverage and predicted that the debris flow activities will last for an additional 50 years or more.

Caledonian reworking of Paleoproterozoic basement in the Cathaysia Block: Constraints from zircon U-Pb dating, Hf isotopes and trace elements

A combined study of zircon U-Pb dating, Hf isotopes and trace elements has been carried out for granodioritic neosomes of migmatites from the Tianjingping area in northwestern Fujian province. Zircons are characterized by zoning, higher th/U ratios (mostly ≥0.1), HREE enrichment, and positive Ce and negative Eu anomalies, and show features similar to magmatic or anatectic zircons. Apparent 206Pb/238U ages for the zircons are 447±2 Ma (95% conf., MSWD = 0.88), corresponding to a Caledonian event. εHf(t) values are ?13.3 to ?9.7, indicating a crustal source. Two-stage Hf model ages are 1.7 to 1.9 Ga, suggesting that protolith of the migmates was probably formed in the Paleoproterozoic. the granodioritic neosomes have the characteristics of peraluminous calc-alkaline granite, and their REE patterns and trace elements spidergrams show features of middle to upper crustal rocks. Together with previous studies, we conclude that the protolith of the Cathaysia basement in the Tianjingping area was likely formed in the middle-late Paleoproterozoic and experienced partial melting during the Caledonian period. the recognition of Caledonian reworking of the Paleoproterozoic basement in the Cathaysia Block provides a new insight into the tectonic evolution of the Cathaysia Block in the Caledonian pe- riod and the interaction between the Cathaysia Block and the Yangtze Block.

Paleoproterozoic reworking of ancient crust in the Cathaysia Block,South China:Evidence from zircon trace elements,U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopes

A combined study of zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating, trace elements and Hf isotope was carried out for gneissic granite from the Sanzhishu area in Jingning, SW zhejiang province. Nearly all the zircons separated from the granite exhibited oscillatory zoning and high th/U ratios (>0.1). the REE profile showed a pronounced positive Ce anomaly, negative Eu anomaly and an enrichment of HREE, which are typical characteristics of magmatic zircon. thirteen concordant or nearly concordant analytical data yielded a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 1860±13 Ma (MSWD=0.084), representing the formation age of the granite. the magmatic zircons had negative εHf(t) values of -15.6 to -10.0 and two-stage Hf model ages of 3.1 to 3.4 Ga, indicating that the granites were formed by reworking of ancient crust. the major- and trace-element data indicate that the gneissic granites are metaluminous high-K calc-alkaline rocks and exhibit the same geochemical characteristics as aluminous A-type granites, implying the emplacement of the granite in a post-orogenic extensional tectonic setting. We conclude that the Pa-leoproterozoic crustal reworking event in the Cathaysia Block of South China marked the transition from assembly to break-up of the Columbia supercontinent.

this paper briefly summarizes an officially ratified Global Standard Stratotype-section and Point （GSSP） and a proposed GSSP for global stages of the Cambrian System. the Luoyixi section near Luoyixi town, Guzhang, northwestern Hunan is ratified as the boundary stratotype for the base of the global Guzhangian Stage, which is the upmost stage of an unnamed series termed provisionally as Cambrian Series 3. the GSSP position lies 121.3 m above the base of the Huaqiao Formation in the section, coinciding with the first appearance of the cosmopolitan agnostoid trilobite Lejopyge *** Duibian B section at Duibian village, Jiangshan, western zhejiang, is proposed as the boundary stratotype for the base of the proposed global Jiangshanian Stage that is the second stage of the Furongian Series. the proposed GSSP position lies 108.12 m above the base of the Huayansi Formation in the section, coinciding with the first appearance of the cosmopolitan agnostoid trilobite Agnostotes orientalius. this horizon is also with the first appearance of the cosmopolitan polymerid trilobite lrvingella angustilimbata.

Triassic Granitic Magmatism at the Northern Margin of the North China Craton: Implications of Geochronology and Geochemistry for the Tectonic Evolution of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt

the early Mesozoic marked an important transition from collisional orogeny to post-orogenic extension at the northern margin of the North China Craton(NCC). In this study, we undertook zircon U-Pb dating and whole-rock majorand trace-element geochemical analyses of early Mesozoic granitic rocks in the Chifeng area to establish their geochronological framework, petrogenesis, and implications for the tectonic evolution of the eastern Central Asia Orogenic Belt(CAOB). Zircon U-Pb dating results show that these rocks were emplaced in three stages during the Triassic:(1) syenogranites during 250-248 Ma,(2) granodiorites during 244-243 Ma, and(3) monzogranites and granodiorites during 232-230 Ma. these Triassic granitoids belong to the high-K calc-alkaline series and are evolved I-type granites. they have high SiO2 and low Mg O contents with enrichments in light rare-earth elements, Zr, Hf, Rb, th, and U, and depletions in Ba, Nb, Ta, Sr, and Eu. these geochemical data indicate that the granitoids were derived from partial melting of a lower-crustal source under relatively low-pressure conditions and subsequently underwent extensive fractional crystallization. Considering both the geochemical data and regional geological information, we propose that the 250-248 Ma syenogranites were emplaced in an extensional environment linked to slab break-off after closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean(PAO) along the Solonker-Xra Moron-Changchun suture zone. the 244-243 Ma granodiorites were formed in a compressional orogenic setting during collision between the Erguna-Xing’an-Songliao composite block and the NCC. the 232-230 Ma granodiorites and monzogranites were emplaced during the transition from compressional orogeny to post-orogenic extension. Overall, the early Mesozoic tectonic evolution of the Chifeng area can be divided into three main stages:(1) closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean and extension related to slab break-off during the Early Triassic;(2) continuous collisional compressio
