Lumpectomy,also called breast-conserving surgery,has become the standard surgical treatment for early-stage breast ***,accurately locating the tumor during a lumpectomy,especially when the lesion is small and nonpalpable,is a *** difficulty can lead to either incomplete tumor removal or prolonged surgical time,which result in high re-operation rates(~25%)and increased surgical ***,we report a fiber optoacoustic guide(FOG)with augmented reality(AR)for sub-millimeter tumor localization and intuitive surgical guidance with minimal *** FOG is preoperatively implanted in the *** external pulsed light excitation,the FOG omnidirectionally broadcasts acoustic waves through the optoacoustic effect by a specially designed nano-composite layer at its *** capturing the acoustic wave,three ultrasound sensors on the breast skin triangulate the FOG tip’s position with 0.25-mm *** AR system with a tablet measures the coordinates of the ultrasound sensors and transforms the FOG tip’s position into visual feedback with<1-mm accuracy,thus aiding surgeons in directly visualizing the tumor location and performing fast and accurate tumor *** further show the use of a head-mounted display to visualize the same information in the surgeons’first-person view and achieve hands-free *** clinical application,a surgeon successfully deployed the FOG to excise a“pseudo tumor”in a female human *** the high-accuracy tumor localization by FOG and the intuitive surgical guidance by AR,the surgeon performed accurate and fast tumor removal,which will significantly reduce re-operation rates and shorten the surgery time.

Abstract： Loperamide is a common, over-the-counter, antidiarrheal medication that has been implicated in cases of ventricular tachycardia. A 32 year-old female patient with a history of opioid abuse and no prior history of cardiovascular disease experienced Torsades de pointes. An electrocardiogram at the time of hospital presentation revealed a prolonged QT interval at 636 msec. Diagnostic evaluation was unremarkable for any underlying cardiovascular pathology. Further investigation revealed the patient had been taking 30-40 loperamide 2 mg tablets oral daily for 2 weeks prior to the onset of Torsades de pointes. At high doses, loperamide may prolong the QT interval through antagonism of the human ether-a-go-go potassium current, thus increasing the risk of ventricular arrhythmias. Clinicians should be cautious with administration of high doses of loperamide to all patients, especially patients at high risk for QT interval prolongation.

Morinda citrifolia L (Noni) has been used in folk remedies by Polynesians for over 2000 years, and is reported to have a broad range of therapeutic effects, including antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antitumor, antihelmin, analgesic, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory, and immune enhancing effects. In order to reveal the nutritional and medicinal value of the Noni plant, and to summarize scientific evidence that supports the Polynesians' claim, a literature review and recent advances in Noni research is given below.

Hereditary Pancreatitis(HP)has emerged as a significant cause of acute,acute recurrent and chronic pancreatitis in the pediatric *** that it presents similarly to other causes of pancreatitis,a positive family history and/or isolation of a gene mutation are vital in its *** patterns remain complex,but mutations involving the PRSS1,SPINK1,CFTR and CTRC genes are commonly *** being first described in 1952,dozens of genetic alterations that modify the action of pancreatic enzymes have been *** children,these variants have been isolated in more than 50%of patients with chronic *** research has noted that such mutations in PRSS1,SPINK1 and CFTR genes are also associated with a faster progression from acute pancreatitis to chronic *** with HP are at increased risk of developing diabetes mellitus,exocrine pancreatic insufficiency,and pancreatic *** follows a multi-disciplinary approach with avoidance of triggers,surveillance of associated conditions,treatment of pancreatic insufficiency and use of endoscopic and surgical interventions for *** significant sequela,morbidity and a progressive nature,a thorough understanding of the etiology,pathophysiologic mechanisms,diagnostic evaluation,current management strategies and future research considerations for this evolving disease entity in pediatrics is warranted.
