The interaction between metal and support is critical in oxygen catalysis as it governs the charge transfer between these two entities,influences the electronic structures of the supported metal,affects the adsorption energies of reaction intermediates,and ultimately impacts the catalytic *** this study,we discovered a unique charge transfer reversal phenomenon in a metal/carbon nanohybrid ***,electrons were transferred from the metal-based species to N-doped carbon,while the carbon support reciprocally donated electrons to the metal domain upon the introduction of *** led to the exceptional electrocatalytic performances of the resulting Ni-Fe/Mo_(2)C@nitrogen-doped carbon catalyst,with a half-wave potential of 0.91.V towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and a low overpotential of 290 m V at 1. mA cm^(-2)towards oxygen evolution reaction(OER)under alkaline ***,the Fe-Ni/Mo_(2)C@carbon heterojunction catalyst demonstrated high specific capacity(794 mA h g_(Zn)~(-1.)and excellent cycling stability(200 h)in a Zn-air *** calculations revealed that Mo_(2)C effectively inhibited charge transfer from Fe to the support,while secondary doping of Ni induced a charge transfer reversal,resulting in electron accumulation in the Fe-Ni alloy *** local electronic structure modulation significantly reduced energy barriers in the oxygen catalysis process,enhancing the catalytic efficiency of both ORR and ***,our findings underscore the potential of manipulating charge transfer reversal between the metal and support as a promising strategy for developing highly-active and durable bi-functional oxygen electrodes.

Different from rivers in humid areas,the variability of riverine CO_(2) system in arid areas is heavily impacted by anthropogenic disturbance with the increasing urbanization and water *** this study,the water chemistry and the controls of carbonate system in an urbanized river(the Fenhe River)on the semi-arid Loess Plateau were *** water chemistry of the river water showed that the high dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)concentration(about 37 mg L^(-1.)in the upstream with a karst land type was mainly sourced from carbonate weathering involved by H_(2)CO_(3) and H_(2)SO_(4),resulting in an oversaturated partial pressure of CO_(2)(pCO_(2))(about 800μatm).In comparison,damming resulted in the widespread appearance of non-free flowing river segments,and aquatic photosynthesis dominated the DIC and pCO_(2) spatiality demonstrated by the enriched stable isotope of DIC(δ^(1.)CDIC).Especially in the mid-downstream flowing through major cities in warm and low-runoff August,some river segments even acted as an atmospheric CO_(2) *** noteworthy is wastewater input leading to a sudden increase in DIC(>55 mg L^(-1.)and pCO_(2)(>4500μatm)in the downstream of Taiyuan City,and in cold November the increased DIC even extended to the outlet of the *** results highlight the effects of aquatic production induced by damming and urban sewage input on riverine CO_(2) system in semi-arid areas,and reducing sewage discharge may mitigate CO_(2) emission from the rivers.

Distribution and abundance of krill in various areas of the Southern Ocean: dataset compilation based on samples collected in CHINARE during 2009–201.

This study investigates the composition, abundance, and basic biological parameters of krill in Prydz Bay, the Antarctic Peninsula and the Amundsen Sea by analyzing samples and environmental data from the Chinese {1. Antarctic Research Expeditions conducted between 2009/201. and 201./2020. The predominant krill species observed were Euphausia superba, Euphausia crystallorophias, and Thysanoessa macrura. T. macrura, although the most widespread, exhibited the lowest mean abundance(9.96 ind·(1.00 m–3)) and biomass(0.31.g·(1.00 m–3)), predominantly found in low-latitude regions of the Amundsen Sea while E. crystallorophias was most concentrated in polynyas of Prydz Bay. E. superba, with an average abundance of 34.05 ind·(1.00 m–3)and biomass of 1..80 g·(1.00 m–3), was mainly distributed in the Antarctic Peninsula and Prydz Bay. This study also identified regional variations in mean body length and frequency distributions of krill. The relationship between krill body length and wet weight followed a power-law pattern. Regional differences were observed in the relationship between krill abundance, biomass, and environmental factors with varying correlations. In the Amundsen Sea, no significant correlation was found between krill abundance and environmental factors. Notably, E. crystallorophias in Prydz Bay demonstrated a significant positive correlation with chlorophyll-a concentration,while T. macrura abundance and biomass in the Antarctic Peninsula exhibited a significant negative correlation with ice-free days. The findings contribute valuable regional data on krill distribution, abundance, and biomass in the Southern Ocean, serving as foundational information for the conservation of the Southern Ocean ecosystem and Antarctic krill fishery management on a circumpolar scale.

Photocatalytic conversion of CO_(2) into small-molecule chemical feedstocks can meet the growing demand for energy and alleviate the global warming. Herein, a p-n ZnO@CDs@Co_(3)O_(4) heterojunction with sandwich structure was constructed by calcination method of self-assembled ZIF-8@CDs@ZIF-67. The ZnO@CDs@Co_(3)O_(4) with well-defined interfacial structure exhibited the significantly enhanced photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction activity, and the optimal catalyst indicated the(CO + CH_(4)) evolution rate of 21..53μmol g^(-1.h^(-1. under simulated solar light, which was superior to ZnO, Co_(3)O_(4) and binary ZnO@Co_(3)O_(4).The internal cavity, exposed active sites, multiple interfaces and constructed p-n heterojunction can facilitate the light harvesting and photoexcited electron transfer. Besides, after introduction of CDs placed in the middle layer between ZnO and Co_(3)O_(4), CDs with excellent photoelectric property further promoted charge separation and migration. This work represents an appealing strategy to construct well-defined photocatalysts for boosting CO_(2) photoreduction.

Parameter sensitivity study of the biogeochemical model in the China coastal seas

In order to develop a coupled basin scale model of ocean circulation and biogeochemical cycling,we present a biogeochemical model including 1. components to study the ecosystem in the China coastal seas（CCS）.The formulation of phytoplankton mortality and zooplankton growth are modified according to biological characteristics of *** four sensitivity biological parameters,zooplankton assimilation efficiency rate（ZooAE_N）,zooplankton basal metabolism rate（ZooBM）,maximum specific growth rate of zooplankton（μ_（20）） and maximum chlorophyll to carbon ratio（Chl2C_m） are obtained in sensitivity experiments for the phytoplankton,and experiments about the parameter μ_（20＇）,half-saturation for phytoplankton NO_3 uptake（K_（NO_3）） and remineralization rate of small detritusN（SDeRRN） are *** results demonstrate that the biogeochemical model is quite sensitive to the zooplankton grazing parameter when it ranges from 0.1.to 1.2 d^（-1..The K_（NO_3） and SDeRRN also play an important role in determining the nitrogen cycle within certain *** sensitive interval of KNO_3 is from 0.1.to 1.5（mmol/m^3）^（-1.,and interval of SEdRRN is from 0.01.and 0.1.d^（-1..The observational data from September 1.98 to July 2000 obtained at SEATS station are used to validate the performance of biological model after parameters *** results show that the modified model has a good capacity to reveal the biological process features,and the sensitivity analysis can save computational resources greatly during the model simulation.
