Rice canopy temperature is affected by nitrogen fertilizer

Canopy temperature strongly influences crop yield formation and is closely related to plant physiological ***, the effects of nitrogen treatment on canopy temperature and rice growth have yet to be comprehensively examined. We conducted a two-year field experiment with three rice varieties(HD-5, NJ-91.8, and YJ-805) and three nitrogen treatments(zero-N control(CK), 200 kg ha~(–1.(MN), and 300 kg ha~(–1.(HN)). We measured canopy temperature using a drone equipped with a high-precision camera at the six stages of the growth period. Generally,canopy temperature was significantly higher for CK than for MN and HN during the tillering, jointing, booting, and heading stages. The temperature was not significantly different among the nitrogen treatments between the milky and waxy stages. The canopy temperature of different rice varieties was found to follow the order: HD-5>NJ-91.8>YJ-805, but the difference was not significant. The canopy temperature of rice was mainly related to plant traits, such as shoot fresh weight(correlation coefficient r=–0.895), plant water content(–0.91.), net photosynthesis(–0.84), stomatal conductance(–0.91., transpiration rate(–0.90), and leaf stomatal area(–0.83). A structural equation model(SEM) showed that nitrogen fertilizer was an important factor affecting the rice canopy *** study revealed:(1. A suite of plant traits was associated with the nitrogen effects on canopy temperature,(2) the heading stage was the best time to observe rice canopy temperature, and(3) at that stage, canopy temperature was negatively correlated with rice yield, panicle number, and grain number per panicle. This study suggests that canopy temperature can be a convenient and accurate indicator of rice growth and yield prediction.

BACKGROUND Rectocutaneous fistulae are *** infection originates within the anal glands and subsequently extends into adjacent regions,ultimately resulting in fistula *** angiofibroma(CAF),also known as an angiomy ofibroblastoma-like tumor,is a rare benign soft tissue neoplasm predominantly observed in the scrotum,perineum,and inguinal area in males and in the vulva in *** describe the first documented case CAF that developed within a rectocutaneous fistula and manifested as a perineal *** SUMMARY In the outpatient setting,a 52-year-old male patient presented with a 2-year history of a growing perineal mass,accompanied by throbbing pain and minor scrotal *** examination revealed a soft,well-defined,non-tender mass at the left buttock that extended towards the perineum,without a visible *** initial assessment identified a soft tissue tumor,and the laboratory data were within normal *** and pelvic computed tomography(CT)revealed swelling of the abscess cavity that was linked to a rectal cutaneous fistula,with a track-like lesion measuring 6 cm×0.7 cm in the left perineal region and attached to the left *** examination found no significant inner orifices.A left medial gluteal incision revealed a thick-walled mass,which was excised along with the extending tract,and curettage was *** examination confirmed CAF *** patient achieved total resolution during follow-up assessments and did not require additional *** CT imaging supports perineal lesion diagnosis and *** angiofibromas,even with a cutaneous fistula,can be excised transperineally.

Dear Editor,Protein histidine methylation has been found to be a widespread post-translational modification(PTM)in mammalian cells and represents more than 1.%of all protein methylation events in the human methylome(Ning et al.,201.;Kapell and Jakobsson,2021..Recently,we and other groups independently identified METTL9 as the first broad-specificity histidine N1.methyltransferase in mammals(Davydova et al.,2021.Lv et al.,2021..METTL9 methylates a variety of substrates with a common x-His-x-His motif(His is for histidine;the second x is preferably small amino acids:A/C/G/S)and catalyzes methyl transfer to the last histidine.

Genomic insights into adaptation to bipedal saltation and desert-like habitats of jerboas

Jerboas is a lineage of small rodents displaying atypical mouse-like morphology with elongated strong hindlimbs and short *** have evolved obligate bipedal saltation and acute senses,and been well-adapted to vast desert-like *** a newly sequenced chromosome-scale genome of the Mongolian five-toed jerboa(Orientallactaga sibirica),our comparative genomic analyses and in vitro functional assays showed that the genetic innovations in both protein-coding and non-coding regions played an important role in jerboa morphological and physiological ***-specific amino acid substitutions,and segment insertions/deletions(indels)in conserved non-coding elements(CNEs)were found in components of proteoglycan biosynthesis pathway(XYLT1.and CHSY1.,which plays an important role in limb ***,we found specific evolutionary changes functionally associated with energy or water metabolism(e.g.,specific amino acid substitutions in ND5 and indels in CNEs physically near ROR2)and senses(e.g.,expansion of vomeronasal receptors and the FAM1.6A gene family)in *** dual-luciferase reporter assay verified that some of the CNEs with jerboa-specific segment indels exerted a significantly different influence on luciferase activity,suggesting changes in their regulatory function in *** results revealed the potential molecular mechanisms underlying jerboa adaptation since the divergence from the Eocene-Oligocene transition,and provided more resources and new insights to enhance our understanding of the molecular basis underlying the phenotypic diversity and the environmental adaptation of mammals.

Suppression of multistep phase transitions of O3-type cathode for sodium-ion batteries

O3-type layered oxide cathodes have been widely investigated due to their high reversible capacities and sufficient Na+***,such materials usually suffer from complex multistep phase transitions along with drastic volume changes,leading to the unsatisfied cycle ***,we report a Mg/Ti co-doped O3-type NaNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_(2),which can effectively suppress the complex multistep phase transition and realize a solid-solution reaction within a wide voltage *** is confirmed that,the Mg/Ti co-doping is beneficial to enhance the structural stability and integrity by absorbing micro-strain and ***,the as obtained sample delivers an outstanding cyclic performance(82.3%after 200 cycles at 1.C)in the voltage range of 2.0-4.0 V,and a high discharge capacity of 86.6 mAh/g after 1.0 cycles within the wide voltage range(2.0-4.5 V),which outperform the existing *** co-doping strategy offers new insights into high performance O3-type cathode for sodium ion batteries.
