Heavy metal(loid)s(HMs)pollution has become a common and complex problem in industrial parks due to rapid industrialization and ***,soil and groundwater were sampled from a retired industrial park to investigate the pollution characteristics of *** show that Ni,Pb,Cr,Zn,Cd,and Cu were the typical HMs in the *** analysis with the positive matrix factorization model indicates that HMs in the topsoil stemmed from industrial activities,traffic emission,and natural source,and the groundwater HMs originated from industrial activities,groundwater-soil interaction,groundwater-rock interaction,and atmosphere *** sequential extraction of soil HMs reveals that As and Hg were mainly distributed in the residue fraction,while Ni,Pb,Cr,Zn,Cd,and Cu mainly existed in the mobile *** HMs either in the total concentration or in the bioavailable fraction preferred to retain in soil as indicated by their high soil-water partitioning coefficients(K_(d)),and the K_(d) values were correlated with soil pH,groundwater redox potential,and dissolved *** relative stable soil-groundwater circumstance and the low active fraction contents limited the vertical migration of soil HMs and their release to *** findings increase our knowledge about HMs pollution characteristics of traditional industrial parks and provide a protocol for HMs pollution scrutinizing in large zones.

It is difficult to achieve selective separation and enrichment of different rare earths from high abundance yttrium ores efficiently only dependent on their discrepancy in thermodynamic *** present work suggests a new strategy based on non-equilibrium kinetic separation of Er and Tm on the surface of freely rising oil droplets to control the separation order of *** is revealed that the mutual separation of Er/Tm is significantly promoted with the separation coefficient of 2.89 during the non-equilibrium extraction with the addition of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid(DTPA).The extraction sequence of Tm,Er and Y can be controlled as Tm>Y>Er,thus Y can be selectively enriched during the process of separation of Er and Tm,Such a sequence is subject to the controllable dissociation rates of RE(Ⅲ)-DTPA complexes and extraction abilities of P507 with the three RE(Ⅲ)*** dissociation rate is dependent on the stabilities of RE(Ⅲ)-DTPA complexes and follows the sequence ofY(Ⅲ)—DTPA Er>Y to Tm>Y>Er.

This study explored the developmental changes in small intestinal barrier function and the potential regulatory roles of intestinal microbiota and metabolites in different breeds of piglets during suckling and weaning *** black(TB),Xiangcun black(XB),and Duroc(DR)piglets(1. litters per breed;half male and half female)were selected for sampling to evaluate the intestinal barrier-related indexes and intestinal microbiota and metabolites at 1.1.,21.weaned),and 24(3 d after weaning)d *** results showed that weaning led to severe shedding of small intestinal microvilli and sparse microvilli arrangement.D-lactate level in the ileum of TB and XB piglets during suckling and weaning periods was lower(P1.than that of DR piglets,as well as the ileal diamine oxidase level at 1.d *** expression level of mucin 1.was higher(P1.d *** expression levels of mucin 2 and mucin 1. were higher(P1.)in TB and XB piglets than those of DR piglets at 21.d old,whereas mucin2 and mucin 1. in the ileum of TB and XB piglets were higher(P1.and 24 d old,but they had higher Streptococcus at 1.and 24 d old than DR piglets(P1..Differential metabolites between the three breeds of piglets were mainly related to oxidative phosphorylation,steroid biosynthesis,and bile acid ***,these findings suggest that different pig breeds present differences in the development of the small intestinal barrier *** with DR piglets,TB and XB piglets had higher intestinal permeability during the suckling period and a stronger intestinal mechanical barrier after ***,intestinal microbiota and metabolites are the key factors for developing small intestinal barrier functions in different breeds of piglets.

The Three-River Source Region(TRSR)in China holds a vital position and exhibits an irreplaceable strategic importance in ecological preservation at the national *** the basis of an in-depth study of the vegetation evolution in the TRSR from 2000 to 2022,we conducted a detailed analysis of the feedback mechanism of vegetation growth to climate change and human activity for different vegetation *** the growing season,the spatiotemporal variations of normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)for different vegetation types in the TRSR were analyzed using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)-NDVI data and meteorological data from 2000 to *** addition,the response characteristics of vegetation to temperature,precipitation,and human activity were assessed using trend analysis,partial correlation analysis,and residual *** indicated that,after in-depth research,from 2000 to 2022,the TRSR's average NDVI during the growing season was *** preliminary ranking of the average NDVI for different vegetation types was as follows:shrubland(0.5762)>forest(0.5443)>meadow(0.421.)>highland vegetation(0.2223)>steppe(0.21.9).The NDVI during the growing season exhibited a fluctuating growth trend,with an average growth rate of 0.001./1.a(P1..Notably,forests displayed a significant development trend throughout the growing season,possessing the fastest rate of change in NDVI(0.0028/1.a).Moreover,the upward trends in NDVI for forests and steppes exhibited extensive spatial distributions,with significant increases accounting for 95.23%and 93.80%,*** sensitivity to precipitation was significantly enhanced in other vegetation types other than highland *** contrast,steppes,meadows,and highland vegetation demonstrated relatively high vulnerability to temperature fluctuations.A further detailed analysis revealed that climate change had a significant positive impact on the TRSR from 2000 to 2022,particularly in its

Fat content is an important trait in pig production. Adipose tissue and muscle are important sites for fat deposition and affect production efficiency and quality. To regulate the fat content in these tissues, we need to understand the mechanisms behind fat deposition. Laiwu pigs, a Chinese indigenous breed, have significantly higher fat content in both adipose tissue and muscle than commercial breeds such as *** this study, we analyzed the transcriptomes in adipose tissue and muscle of 21.d-old Laiwu and Duroc piglets. Results showed that there were 828 and 671.differentially expressed genes(DEG) in subcutaneous adipose tissue(SAT) and visceral adipose tissue(VAT), respectively. Functional enrichment analysis showed that these DEG were enriched in metabolic pathways, especially carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. Additionally, in the longissimus muscle(LM) and psoas muscle(PM), 31. and 335 DEG were identified, demonstrating enrichment in the cell cycle and metabolic pathways. The protein-protein interaction(PPI) networks of these DEG were analyzed and potential hub genes were identified, such as FBP1.and SCD in adipose tissues and RRM2 and GADL1.in muscles. Meanwhile, results showed that there were common DEG between adipose tissue and muscle, such as LDHB, THRSP, and DGAT2. These findings showed that there are significant differences in the transcriptomes of the adipose tissue and muscle between Laiwu and Duroc piglets(P < 0.05), especially in metabolic patterns. This insight serves to advance our comprehensive understanding of metabolic regulation in these tissues and provide targets for fat content regulation.

China’s Grain to Green Program(GTGP),which is one of the largest payments for ecosystem services(PES)in the world,has made significant ecological improvements to the ***,current understanding of its outcomes on the social-ecological system(SES)remains ***,taking the South China Karst as an example,a SES resilience evaluation index system was constructed followed by an exploratory spatial analysis,root mean square error,and Self-Organizing Feature Map to clarify the spatiotemporal changes and relationship of SES resilience,achieve the zoning of SES resilience and provide restoration *** results showed an upward trend in social resilience from 2000 to 2020,especially its subsystem of social *** ecological resilience was stable,owing to a slightly declined ecosystem services and increased landscape ***,nearly half of the counties exhibited a distribution mismatch in SES *** was an obvious inverted U-shaped relationship of SES resilience,indicating a clear threshold effect,and the constraint relation-ship of SES resilience eased over time,demonstrating the effectiveness of the ecological restoration *** played a positive role in reducing regional SES trade-off,but this positive effect was limited,reflecting the limitations of overemphasizing the conversion from farmland to forest and *** SES resilience can be divided into four clusters,which were the key optimization zone for social system,the SES resilience safety zone,the key restoration zone for SES resilience,and the key optimization zone for ecological *** adjustments for the GTGP in these zones should be taken to achieve maximum SES benefits in the future.

Slurry electrolysis(SE),as a hydrometallurgical process,has the characteristic of a multitank series connection,which leads to various stirring conditions and a complex solid suspension *** computational fluid dynamics(CFD),which requires high computing resources,and a combination with machine learning was proposed to construct a rapid prediction model for the liquid flow and solid concentration fields in a SE *** scientific selection of calculation samples via orthogonal experiments,a comprehensive dataset covering a wide range of conditions was established while effectively reducing the number of simulations and providing reasonable weights for each ***,a prediction model of the SE tank was constructed using the K-nearest neighbor *** results show that with the increase in levels of orthogonal experiments,the prediction accuracy of the model improved *** model established with four factors and nine levels can accurately predict the flow and concentration fields,and the regression coefficients of average velocity and solid concentration were 0.926 and 0.937,*** with traditional CFD,the response time of field information prediction in this model was reduced from 75 h to 20 s,which solves the problem of serious lag in CFD applied alone to actual production and meets real-time production control requirements.

Functionally referential signals are a complex form of communication that conveys information about the external *** signals have been found in a range of mammal and bird species and have helped us understand the complexities of animal *** are well known for their extraordinary cognitive abilities,but relatively little attention has been paid to their vocal ***,we investigated the functionally referential signals of a cooperatively breeding corvid species,Azure-winged Magpie(Cyanopica cyanus).Through field observations,we suggest that Azure-winged Magpie uses referential alarm calls to distinguish two types of threats:’rasp’ calls for terrestrial threats and ’chatter’ calls for aerial threats.A playback experiment revealed that Azure-winged Magpies responded to the two call types with qualitatively different *** sought cover by flying into the bushes in response to the ’chatter’ calls,and flew to or stayed at higher positions in response to ’rasp’ calls,displaying a shorter response time to ’chatter’ *** differences in acoustic structure were found between the two types of *** the extensive cognitive abilities of corvids and the fact that referential signals were once thought to be unique to primates,these findings are important for expanding our understanding of social communication and language evolution.

High alumina fly ash(FAHAl)is a kind of bulk solid waste unique to China,whose availability of high-value aluminum and the threat to the environment makes its high-value utilization *** this work,the alumina containing leaching solution obtained from Na_(2)CO_(3) roasting and HCl leaching of FAHAl was used as the mother liquor to prepare layered boehmite in *** preparation process with AlCl_(3) as the raw material was also *** formation process and mechanism of boehmite,the choice of solvent,along with the adsorption capability of Congo red were analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method and adsorption *** showed that during the preparation of layered boehmite,the precursor Al(OH)_(3) from the reaction of Al^(3+) and OH-is transformed into boehmiteγ-*** existence of ethanol is beneficial to regulate and promote the growth of boehmite crystal *** water and ethanol are mixed with a volume ratio of 2:1.and used as the solvent,the maximum specific surface area of the boehmite is obtained at 1.5.7 m^(2)·g^(-1.,and 99.1.%of Congo red can be absorbed after 1. min when AlCl3 is used as a raw *** purified leaching solution is used as the mother liquid,the crystallinity of boehmite decreases slightly when the pH value decreases from 1..5 to *** pH is 1.,the removal efficiency of Congo red reaches a maximum of 72.25%.This process not only achieves the extraction of aluminum and high-value utilization of FAHAl but also provides a thought to prepare layered boehmite with adsorption properties.

The thorough investigation of nanoplastics(NPs)in aqueous environments requires efficient and expeditious quantitative analytical methods that are sensitive to environmentally relevant NP concentrations and convenient to *** analysis-based quantitative methods have been acknowledged as effective and rapid approaches for quantifying NP concentrations in laboratory-scale ***,we compared three commonly used optical response indicators,namely fluorescence intensity(FI),ultraviolet absorbance,and turbidity,to assess their performance in quantifying ***,orthogonal experiments were conducted to evaluate the influence of various water quality parameters on the preferred indicator-based quantification *** results revealed that FI exhibits the highest correlation coefficient(>0.99)with NP ***,the limit of quantification(LOQ)for various types of NPs is exceptionally low,ranging from 0.0089 to 0.0584 mg/L in ultrapure water,well below environmentally relevant *** variations in water quality parameters such as pH,salinity,suspended solids(SS),and humic acid,a robust relationship between detectable FI and NP concentration was ***,an increased matrix,especially SS in water samples,results in an enhanced LOQ for ***,the quantitative method remains applicable in real water bodies,especially in drinking water,with NP LOQ as low as 0.01.7–0.071. mg/*** exceeds the previously reported detectable concentration for 1.0 nm NPs at 40µg/mL using surface-enhanced Raman *** study confirms the potential of FI as a reliable indicator for the rapid quantification of NPs in aqueous environments,offering substantial advantages in terms of both convenience and cost-effectiveness.
