Four new species belonging to Bionectria, Calonectria, Haematonectria and Neonectria on plant substrates collected from nature reserves in southern and central China are described. Bionectria truncata has smooth perithecia of a flattened to shallow discoid apex, clavate asci with an apical ring, and ellipsoid, smooth to spinulose ascospores. Calonectria dicephalospora is characterized by pyriform perithecia with a warted surface, clavate asci with a simple apex and long, narrow stalk, and fusoid ascospores with a cap-like appendage at each end. Haematonectria lushanensis possesses warted perithecia which are laterally collapsing when dry, cylindrical asci with a simple apex, and ellipsoid, spinulose ascospores. Neonectria dinghushanica is distinguishable by subglobose perithecia with a warted surface, clavate asci, and striate ascospores. Morphological features of these new species are described comprehensively and compared with their related fungi. Neonectria castaneicola is recorded as new to China.

Significant progress has been made in machine learning with large amounts of clean labels and static data. However, in many real-world applications, the data often changes with time and it is difficult to obtain massive clean annotations, that is, noisy labels and time series are faced simultaneously. For example, in product-buyer evaluation, each sample records the daily time behavior of users, but the long transaction period brings difficulties to analysis, and salespeople often erroneously annotate the user’s purchase behavior. Such a novel setting, to our best knowledge, has not been thoroughly studied yet, and there is still a lack of effective machine learning methods. In this paper, we present a systematic approach RTS both theoretically and empirically, consisting of two components, Noise-Tolerant Time Series Representation and Purified Oversampling Learning. Specifically, we propose reducing label noise’s destructive impact to obtain robust feature representations and potential clean samples. Then, a novel learning method based on the purified data and time series oversampling is adopted to train an unbiased model. Theoretical analysis proves that our proposal can improve the quality of the noisy data set. Empirical experiments on diverse tasks, such as the house-buyer evaluation task from real-world applications and various benchmark tasks, clearly demonstrate that our new algorithm robustly outperforms many competitive methods.

Owing to their low flexibility,poor processability and a lack of responsiveness,inorganic materials are usually non-ideal for constructing a living ***,to date,lifelike materials with structural hierarchies and adaptive properties usually rely on light and soft organic molecules,although few exceptions have been acquired using two-dimensional(2D)inorganic ***,with a systematic study on the gelation behavior of carbon-based 0D quantum dots,1. nanotubes,and 3D fullerenes,we find that acidified 1. carbon nanotubes(CNTs)can serve as an alternative building block for fabricating purely inorganic biomimetic soft *** as-prepared CNT gels exhibit not only a pH-or photothermal-triggered mechanical and tribological adaptivity,which allows them to simulate the behavior of sea cucumbers,peacock mantis shrimps,and mammalian muscles or cortical bones,but also a unique damping property that is similar to spider’s cuticular *** high elasticity,effective lubrication,excellent biocompatibility,and controllable friction and wear also allow them to function as a new type of smart lubricants,whose tribological properties can be regulated either by its internal pH changes or spatiotemporally by near-infrared(NIR)light irradiations,free of any toxic and flammable base oils or additives.

Game theory studies the mathematical models for self-interested individuals. Nash equilibrium is arguably the most central solution in game theory. While finding the Nash equilibrium in general is known as polynomial parity arguments on directed graphs(PPAD)-complete, learning in games provides an alternative to approximate Nash equilibrium, which iteratively updates the player's strategy through interactions with other players. Rules and models have been developed for learning in games, such as fictitious play and no-regret learning. Particularly, with recent advances in online learning and deep reinforcement learning,techniques from these fields greatly boost the breakthroughs in learning in games from theory to *** a result, we have witnessed many superhuman game AI systems. The techniques used in these systems evolve from conventional search and learning to purely reinforcement learning(RL)-style learning methods,gradually getting rid of the domain knowledge. In this article, we systematically review the above techniques,discuss the trend of basic learning rules towards a unified framework, and recap applications in large ***, we discuss some future directions and make the prospect of future game AI systems. We hope this article will give some insights into designing novel approaches.

Seasonal and Tissue Age Influences on Endophytic Fungi of Pinus tabulaeformis (Pinaceae) in the Dongling Mountains, Beijing

Endophytic fungi associated with Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. were investigated in the Dongling Mountains of Beijing. A total of 1.200 tissue segments of P. tabulaeformis from four sample collections were processed, and 1.659 fungal isolates were recovered. The overall colonization and isolation rates of endophytic fungi from high to low were spring〉winter〉autumn〉summer and in different tissues were bark〉needle〉xylem, irrespective of sampling seasons. The colonization rates of endophytic fungi of needles increased with age in the four sample collections. There were no significant differences of the colonization rates of endophytic fungi among 1., 2-, and 3-year-old bark and xylem, except for significantly lower colonization rates in 1.year-old bark than in 2- and 3-year-old bark in summer. A similar trend of the isolation rates of endophytic fungi occurred. A total of 24 fungal taxa were recorded, of these five taxa Alternaria alternata, Leptostroma sp., Pestalotiopsis besseyi, Phoma lingam, and Phomopsis archeri, were consistently isolated as the common fungi in each sample collection. Our results suggest that some fungi show a certain degree of tissue recurrence or specificity, and the composition of endophytic assemblages is not conspicuously influenced by the seasonal factor.
