Mode Multiplication of Cylindrical Vector Beam Using Raytracing Control

Cylindrical vector beams(CVBs)hold significant promise in mode division multiplexing communication owing to their inherent vector mode ***,existing studies for facilitating CVB channel processing are confined to mode shift conversions due to their reliance on spin-dependent helical modulations,overlooking the pursuit of mode multiplication *** challenge lies in the multiplicative operation upon inhomogeneous vector mode manipulation,which is expected to advance versatile CVB channel switching and ***,we tackle this gap by introducing a raytracing control strategy that conformally maps the light rays of CVB from the whole annulus distribution to an annular sector *** with the multifold conformal annulus-sector mappings and polarization-insensitive phase modulations,this approach facilitates the parallel transformation of input CVB into multiple complementary components,enabling the mode multiplication conversion with protected vector *** as a demonstration,we experimentally implemented the multiplicative operation of four CVB modes with the multiplier factors of𝑁N=+2 and N=−3,achieving the converted mode purities over 94.24%and 88.37%.Subsequently,200 Gbit/s quadrature phase shift keying signals were successfully transmitted upon multiplicative switching of four CVB channels,with the bit-error-rate approaching 1.1.−*** results underscore our strategy’s efficacy in CVB mode multiplication,which may open promising prospects for its advanced applications.

Seasonal prediction of extreme high-temperature days over the Yangtze River basin

Extreme high temperatures occur frequently over the densely populated Yangtze River basin(YRB)in China during summer,significantly impacting the local economic development and ecological ***,accurate prediction of extreme high-temperature days in this region remains a ***,the Climate Forecast System Version 2(CFSv2)exhibits poor performance in this ***,based on the interannual increment approach,we develop a hybrid seasonal prediction model over the YRB(HM_(YRB))to improve the prediction of extreme high-temperature days in *** HM_(YRB)relies on the following four predictors:the observed preceding April-May snowmelt in north western Europe;the snow depth in March over the central Siberian Plateau;the CFSv2-forecasted concurrent summer sea surface temperatures around the Maritime Continent;and the 200-hPa geopotential height over the Tibetan *** HM_(YRB)indicates good capabilities in predicting the interannual variability and trend of extreme high-temperature days,with a markable correlation coefficient of 0.58 and a percentage of the same sign(PSS)of 76% during 1.83-201. in the one-year-out ***,the HM_(YRB) maintains high PSS skill(86%)and robustness in the independent prediction period(201.-2022).Furthermore,the HM_(YRB) shows a good performance for years with high occurrence of extreme high-temperature days,with a hit ratio of 40%.These predictors used in HM_(YRB)are beneficial in terms of the prediction skill for the average daily maximum temperature in summer over the YRB,albeit with biases existing in the *** study provides promising insights into the prediction of 2022-like hot extremes over the YRB in China.

Spatially Coupled Codes via Bidirectional Block Markov Superposition Transmission

In this paper,we present a new class of spatially coupled codes obtained by using both non-recursive and recursive block-oriented *** resulting codes are termed as bidirectional block Markov superposition transmission(BiBMST)***,we perform an iterative decoding threshold analysis according to protograph-based extrinsic information transfer(PEXIT)charts for the BiBMST codes over the binary erasure channels(BECs).Secondly,we derive the generator and parity-check matrices of the BiBMST ***,extensive numerical results are presented to show the advantages of the proposed BiBMST ***,our numerical results show that,under the constraint of an equal decoding latency,the BiBMST codes perform better than the recursive BMST(rBMST)***,the simulation results show that,in finite-length regime,negligible performance gain is obtained by increasing the encoding *** solve this limitation by introducing partial superposition,and the resulting codes are termed as partially-connected BiBMST(PC-BiBMST)*** results have confirmed the advantages of the PC-BiBMST codes over the original BiBMST *** also present extensive simulation results to show the performance advantages of the PC-BiBMST codes over the spatially coupled low-density parity-check(SC-LDPC)codes,spatially coupled generalized LDPC(SC-GLDPC)codes,and the original BiBMST codes in the finite-length regime.

Metabolic profiles and morphological characteristics of leaf tips among different sweet potato(Ipomoea batatas Lam.)varieties

Sweet potato leaf tips have high nutritional value,and exploring the differences in the metabolic profiles of leaf tips among different sweet potato varieties can provide information to improve their *** this study,a UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap/MS-based untargeted metabolomics method was used to evaluate the metabolites in leaf tips of 32 sweet potato *** varieties with distinct overall metabolic profiles(A01.A02,and A03),two varieties with distinct profiles of phenolic acids(A20 and A1.),and three varieties with distinct profiles of flavonoids(A05,A1.,and A1.)were *** addition,a total of 1.3 and 29 differentially expressed metabolites correlated with the color and leaf shape of sweet potato leaf tips,respectively,were identified through morphological *** comparison analysis of the phenotypic traits and a metabolite-phenotypic trait correlation analysis indicated that the color differences of sweet potato leaf tips were markedly associated with ***,the level of polyphenols was correlated with the leaf shape of sweet potato leaf tips,with lobed leaf types having higher levels of polyphenols than the entire leaf *** findings on the metabolic profiles and differentially expressed metabolites associated with the morphology of sweet potato leaf tips can provide useful information for breeding sweet potato varieties with higher nutritional value.
