Implementation of all-optical tristate Pauli X, Y and Z gates based on two-dimensional photonic crystal

In this paper, we have designed and simulated all-optical tristate Pauli X, Y and Z gates using 2D photonic crystal. Simple line and point defects have been used to design the structure. The performance of the structure has been analyzed and investigated by plane wave expansion(PWE) and finite difference time domain(FDTD) methods. Different performance parameters, namely contrast ratio(CR), rise time, fall time, delay time, response time and bit rate, have been calculated. The main advantage of the proposed design is that all the Pauli gates have been realized from a single structure. Due to compact size, fast response time, good CR and high bit rate, the proposed structure can be highly useful for optical computing, data processing and optical integrated circuits.

Comparison of optimizers for model predictive thermal control of buildings

Considering recent developments in the energy sector,further reduction of electricity cost and flattening of the electric power demand curve are *** have focused on an autonomous electric heater control system that can easily be implemented in existing buildings without strict comfort *** are winter heating of warehouses and vacation homes,and heat drying of buildings under *** have set up a system that typically reduces electricity cost by about 40%on the basis of automatic weather and real time pricing *** system uses the building as an energy reservoir over periods with high electricity *** a model predictive control system,we compare use of a genetic algorithm,a particle swarm optimization,and a neural network for heater control,all working in a closed loop to reduce the influence of modeling *** have simulated the performance of the systems using realistic data and found that all three optimizers give about the same performance,varying only a few percent in ***,the computational and memory requirements of the neural network are much lower than for the other optimizers,so it is preferable for use with inexpensive *** carried out a full-scale experiment at a residential house and found agreement with simulation results.

Given the extremely high inter-patient heterogeneity of acute myeloid leukemia(AML),the identification of biomarkers for prognostic assessment and therapeutic guidance is *** surface markers(CSMs)have been shown to play an important role in AML leukemogenesis and *** the current study,we evaluated the prognostic potential of all human CSMs in 1.0 AML patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)based on differential gene expression analysis and univariable Cox proportional hazards regression *** using multi-model analysis,including Adaptive LASSO regression,LASSO regression,and Elastic Net,we constructed a 9-CSMs prognostic model for risk stratification of the AML *** predictive value of the 9-CSMs risk score was further validated at the transcriptome and proteome *** Cox regression analysis showed that the risk score was an independent prognostic factor for the AML *** AML patients with high 9-CSMs risk scores had a shorter overall and event-free survival time than those with low ***,single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis indicated that patients with high 9-CSMs risk scores exhibited chemotherapy ***,PI3K inhibitors were identified as potential treatments for these high-risk *** conclusion,we constructed a 9-CSMs prognostic model that served as an independent prognostic factor for the survival of AML patients and held the potential for guiding drug therapy.

Infection in Multiple Myeloma: Microbiological Profile and Prognosis in Senegalese Patients

Introduction: Infections are additional factors of morbidity and mortality in multiple myeloma (MM), and the current recommendation is antibiotic prophylaxis. In sub-Saharan Africa, few data on infectious complications of MM are available. We aim to describe the microbiological features of infections in MM, and their impact on survival in Senegalese patients. Methods: A retrospective (January 2005-January 2022), analytic, multicenter study on infections in patients followed for MM (IMWG criteria) in Senegalese clinical hematology services. The socio-epidemiological, diagnostic, microbiological, evolutionary and survival aspects were analyzed. Results: The study included 1.6 patients with multiple myeloma who had an infection at admission or during the treatment. Ten patients have the comorbidity (hypertension, lupus, type 2 diabetes). These patients had 1.6 infectious events identified at diagnosis (79.2%) or during chemotherapy (20.8%). The sites of infection are lung (42.6%), urinary (29.4%), dermatological (6.6%), digestive (5.2%), osteoarticular (4.4%), ear, nose and throat (3.7%), central nervous system (1.5%), or without site. We recorded 26.4% of patients with multi-site infections. The causal pathogens are bacteria (Gram-negative bacilli: 22.1.;Gram positive bacilli: 9.5%, Mycobacterium tuberculosis: 1..3%), parasitique (plasmodium falciparum 6.6%), viruses (SARS-COV2: 2.9%, VZV: 2.2%) and fungal (2.9%). Survival was reduced in patients who had an infection at the time of multiple myeloma diagnosis (p: 0.1.9) and those who had multiple infectious foci (p: 0.01.). Conclusion: Infections in multiple myeloma are more frequent at diagnosis. The germs are varied and mostly bacteria, particularly gram-negative bacteria, and Kochs bacillus. Our study reveals that multiple infectious foci are a poor prognosis factor. It is necessary to evaluate the infectious risk early, and to adopt an antibiotic prophylaxis based on our tropical environment.
