Introduction: Sickle cell disease, which is the most common hereditary hemoglobinopathy in the world, attacks all body systems, particularly the kidneys. The view of this study was to investigate the predictive factors of kidney damage during sickle cell disease. Materials and methods: It was a retrospective, descriptive and analytical study on files of sickle cell patients hospitalized in the hematology-Oncology {1. of Donka University Hospital during a period from January 1. 201. to December 31. 201.. Records of sickle cell patients with one or more renal abnormalities were retained. Sickle cell patients without kidney damage were also selected for a comparative study. Only patients without sickle cell disease were excluded. Results: Seventy-five (75) medical records were collected during the study period. From these cases, thirteen (1.) records with kidney disease were observed, a frequency of 1.%. The mean age of patients was 24.2 years for extremes of 1. and 65 years. The sex ratio was 1.6 in favor of men. The SSFA2 form was the most represented with 92%. 24-hour proteinuria was measured in 1. patients between whom 6 patients (46.2%) had a proteinuria level ≤ 1.g. Eight (8) patients (61.5%) were in stage 1.of chronic kidney disease. The most common type of renal involvement was tubulo-interstitial nephropathy with 8 patients (61.5%). Bivariate analysis showed that elevated serum creatinine (P 2 form of the sickness (P Conclusion: After the observation of an increased serum creatinine and urea, a predominance observation of the SSFA2 form, it should be possible to target patients for whom screening for kidney damage should henceforth be systematic.

Multiple myeloma(MM)is a plasma cell malignancy and remains incurable as it lacks effective curative approaches;thus,novel therapeutic strategies are desperately *** study aimed to explore the therapeutic role of dihydromyricetin(DHM)in MM and explore its *** MM and normal plasma samples,human MM cell lines,and normal plasma cells were used for in vitro *** counting kit-8(CCK-8),flow cytometry,and trans-well assays were performed for the assessment of cell viability,apoptosis,migration,and invasion,*** real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)was employed to assess the mRNA expression of signal transducer and activator of transcription 1.STAT1.and retinoic acid-inducible gene I(RIG-I).Western blotting was employed to assess E-cadherin,N-cadherin,signal transducer,STAT1.p-STAT1.and RIG-I protein expression.A tumor xenograft model was used for in vivo ***,dihydromyricetin(DHM)dose-dependently restrained viability,apoptosis,migration,and invasion,and facilitated apoptosis of U266 *** DHM treatment,the Ecadherin level was increased and the N-cadherin level was decreased in U266 and RPMI-8226 cells,suggesting the inhibitory effects of DHM on epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in ***,the levels of p-STAT1.STAT1.and RIG-I were down-regulated in ***,the STAT1.inhibitor fludarabine undid the suppressive effect of DMH on the malignant characteristics of U266 ***,DHM inhibited MM tumor growth and EMT,and activated STAT1.RIG-I pathway in ***,this study first revealed that DHM can restrain EMT and tumor growth in MM by activating STAT1.RIG-I signaling,which provides a novel drug for the treatment of MM.

Realgar-indigo naturalis formula for the treatment of patients with relapsed and arsenic trioxide-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia:A case series

Introduction There is currently no standard treatment for relapsed and arsenic trioxide(ATO)-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL).Here,we report a case series of realgar-indigo naturalis formula(RIF)for the successful treatment of patients with relapsed and ATO-resistant *** presentation Two patients in the first relapse and one in the second relapse failed to achieve hematologic complete remission(HCR)when reinduced by ATO;the other five patients progressed to relapse during ATO-based regimens for post-remission *** eight patients received RIF in three doses per day totaling 1.0 mg/kg(≤30 pills)as induction therapy and achieved HCR at a median time of 46.5 *** received 5 years of post-remission therapy,which consisted of combined chemotherapy followed by *** this period,the patients did not experience renal dysfunction or QT interval *** the last follow-up,three patients survived without relapse,two patients survived with a second or third relapse and third or fourth remission,and the other three patients relapsed for a third or fourth time and *** 5-year overall survival and event-free survival rates were 75.0%(95%confidence interval[CI]:31.5–93.1.and 37.5%(95%CI:5.6–71.7),*** RIF for induction therapy and RIF combined with chemotherapy for post-remission therapy may represent an effective and safe protocol for the treatment of patients with relapsed and ATO-resistant APL.

Development of a cell adhesion-based prognostic model for multiple myeloma:Insights into chemotherapy response and potential reversal of adhesion effects

Symptoms of chlorfenapyr poisoning in patients are mild and atypical in the early stage,especially in patients receiving low dose exposure;however,such cases are rare and may be ignored by physicians,often leading to delayed treatment.[2,3].

A genetic variant study of bortezomib-induced peripheral neuropathy in Chinese multiple myeloma patients

Background:Bortezomib results in peripheral neuropathy(PN)in approximately 50%of patients,during multiple myeloma(MM)treatment,a complication known as Bortezomib-induced peripheral neuropathy(BIPN).The drug response varies among *** factor may play an important role in ***:A nextgeneration sequencing(NGS)panel containing 1.59 targets from 233 genes was used to identify risk variants for developing BIPN in 204 MM patients who received bortezomib *** expression of MTHFR and ALDH1.1.in 62 peripheral blood samples was detected by real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR).Serum homocysteine(Hcy)levels were detected in 40 samples by chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay(CMIA).Results:Compared with the non-BIPN group(n=89),a total of 8 significantly associated single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were identified in the BIPN group(n=1.5):MTHFR(rs1.01.31.rs1.01.33,rs1.421.1.),EPHX1.rs1.51.40),MME(rs201.848),ALDH1.1.rs61.1.31.,HTR7(rs1.35349)and CYP2A6(rs81.2720).The mRNA expression level of MTHFR in newly diagnosed patients with peripheral neuritis after treatment(NP group)was lower than that of newly diagnosed patients without peripheral neuritis after treatment(NnP group)(1.70±0.77 vs.2.81.0.97,p=0.009).Serum Hcy levels were significantly higher in BIPN group than in non-BIPN group(1..66±1.79μmol/L vs.8.52±3.29μmol/L,p=0.01.)and healthy controls(1..66±1.79μmol/L vs.8.55±2.1.μmol/L,p≤0.001..Conclusion:CYP2A6,EPHX1.MTHFR,ALDH1.1.HTR7,MME and BIPN are linked in Chinese MM *** is more likely to occur in patients with lower MTHFR mRNA expression,which might result in higher serum Hcy levels.

Waldenström macroglobulinemia(WM)is characterized by lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma associated with large amounts of monoclonal immunoglobulin M(IgM)protein(Owen et al.,2003).Common signs and symptoms include fatigue due to anemia,lymph node enlargement,hepatosplenomegaly,thrombocytopenia,symptoms related to high viscosity,and peripheral neuropathy,among *** significant advances in WM treatment,this type of indolent lymphoma remains incurable,with a wide array of patient outcomes(Ruan et al.,2020).In recent years,chimeric antigen receptor T(CAR-T)cell therapy targeting cluster of differentiation 1.(CD1.)has shown unprecedented response rates and durability in the treatment of B-cell *** this report,we describe a challenging case of WM that involved multiple extramedullary sites,relapsed,and was refractory to chemotherapy,immunotherapy,and targeted *** anti-CD1. CAR-T cell therapy,the tumor burden significantly decreased and the patient’s condition remained stable at the writing of this report.
