Pattern recognition receptors(PRRs)are integral to plant immunity,functioning as the first line of defense against *** these,receptor kinases(RKs)play a critical role in recognizing external signals and initiating immune *** studies by Li et al.(2024)have identified the G-type lectin RK ZmLecRK1 in maize as essential for resistance to Pythium aphanidermatum and other fungal pathogens.A key finding is that a resistant variant of ZmLecRK1,which carries an alanine at position 404,has emerged in maize,while the ancestral form,with a serine at this position,is conserved across most *** amino acid substitution significantly influences the interaction with the co-receptor BRASSINOStEROID INSENSItIVE 1-ASSOCIAtED RECEPtOR KINASE 1(BAK1),enhancing immune complex formation and subsequent defense *** work underscores the importance of genetic variation in enhancing disease resistance,offering potential strategies for crop improvement through targeted genetic modification.

Up to now, ecology has a strong influence on the development of technical and instrumental aspects of architecture, such as renewable and efficient of resources and energy, COz emissions, air quality, water reuse, some social and economical aspects. these concepts define the physical keys and codes of the current ＇sustainable＇ architecture, normally instrumental but rarely and insufficiently theorised. But is not there another way of bringing us to nature？ We need a theoretical referent. this is where we place the Van der Laan＇s thoughts： he considers that art completes nature and he builds his theoretical discourse on it, trying to better understand many aspects of architecture. From a conceptual point of view, we find in his works sense of timelessness, universality, special attention on the ＇locus＇ and a strict sense of proportions and use of materials according to nature. Could these concepts complement our current sustainable architecture？ How did Laan apply the current codes of ecology in his architecture？ His work may help us to get a theoretical interpretation of nature and not only physical. this paper develops this idea through the comparison of thoughts and works of Laan with the current technical approach to ＇sustainable＇ architecture.

the physical and mechanical properties of metal matrix composites were improved by the addition of reinforcements. the mechanical properties of particulate-reinforced metal-matrix composites based on aluminium alloys （6061 and 7015） at high temperatures were studied. titanium diboride （tiB2） particles were used as the reinforcement. All the composites were produced by hot extrusion. the tensile properties and fracture characteristics of these materials were investigated at room temperature and at high temperatures to determine their ultimate strength and strain to failure. the fracture surface was analysed by scanning electron microscopy. tiB2 particles provide high stability of the alumin- ium alloys （6061 and 7015） in the fabrication process. An improvement in the mechanical behaviour was achieved by adding tiB2 particles as reinforcement in both the aluminium alloys. Adding tiB2 particles reduces the ductility of the aluminium alloys but does not change the microscopic mode of failure, and the fracture surface exhibits a ductile appearance with dimples formed by coalescence.

Grid forming controllers need to operate with a large variation of grid parameters and grid structures, for instance, during black-start operation, connection to HVDC diode rectifiers, etc. this paper proposes a methodology for the synthesis of robust grid forming controllers for HVDC diode rectifier based wind power plants using $\mathcal{H}_{\infty}$ control. the different operating modes of an HVDC diode rectifier based wind power plant should be considered for the controller synthesis using the proposed $\mathcal{H}_{\infty}$ controller design methodology. the proposed methodology for grid forming controller design improves the performance and robustness of well tuned standard proportional-resonant based controllers. the results have been validated experimentally at the wind turbine level by means of a small power prototype. the validation at the system level has been carried out using a realistic simulation of the HVDC diode rectifier-connected wind power plant.

In this work,the impact of hop constraints on the CAPEX of multi-layer IP/MPLS over WSON networks is evaluated under different scenarios. By routing lightpaths with different number of transparent hops,the cost of networks varies significantly. this effect is thoroughly analyzed with a heuristic algorithm for different network topologies belonging to some European network operators. the main conclusion extracted is that limiting the transparent reach in such multi-layer networks can give a good tradeoff between CAPEX of IP/MPLS networks and WSON networks,and even lead to signifi cant savings in CAPEX when compared to longer lightpaths routing strategies.

In this review, we recall how stars contribute to the search for dark matter and the specific role of the Sun. We describe a more complete picture of the solar interior that emerges from neutrino detections, gravity and acoustic mode measurements of the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory （SOHO） satellite, becoming a reference for the most common stars in the Universe. the Sun is a unique star in that we can observe directly the effect of dark matter. the absence of a signature related to Weakly Interacting Massive Particles （WIMPs） in its core disfavors a WIMP mass range below 12 GeV. We give arguments to continue this search on the Sun and other promising cases. We also examine another dark matter candidate, the sterile neutrino, and infer the limitations of the classical structural equations. Open questions on the young Sun, when planets formed, and on its present internal dynamics are finally dis- cussed. Future directions are proposed for the next decade： a better description of the solar core, a generalization to stars coming from seismic missions and a better under- standing of the dynamics of our galaxy which are all crucial keys for understanding dark matter.

Wind turbine blades have been constantly increasing since wind energy becomes a popular renewable energy source to generate electricity. therefore, the wind sector requires a more efficient and representative characterization of vertical wind speed profiles to assess the potential for a wind power plant site. this paper proposes an alternative characterization of vertical wind speed profiles based on Ward's agglomerative clustering algorithm, including both wind speed module and direction data. this approach gives a more accurate incoming wind speed variation around the rotor swept area, and subsequently, provides a more realistic and complete wind speed vector characterization for vertical profiles. real wind database collected for 2018 in the Forschungsplattformen in Nordund Ostsee(FINO) research platform is used to assess the methodology. A preliminary pre-processing stage is proposed to select the appropriated number of heights and remove missing or incomplete data. Finally, two locations and four heights are selected, and 561588 wind data are characterized. Results and discussion are also included in this paper. the methodology can be applied to other wind database and locations to characterize vertical wind speed profiles and identify the most likely wind data vector patterns.

Smart parking lots are smart places capable of supporting both parking and charging services for electric vehicles(EVs).In order to manage EV charging,the parking lot local controller(PLLC)requires data exchange with EV charging stations(EVCSs)through communication ***,data losses and communication delays are unavoidable and may significantly degrade the system *** work aims to investigate the underlying communication networks for remote monitoring of EVCSs in a smart campus parking *** communication network consists of two subnetworks:parking area network(PAN)and campus area network(CAN).PAN covers communication among EVs,charging stations and PLLC,while CAN enables dedicated communication between PLLCs and a global controller of the *** one of the major obstacles in EV system is the lack of unified communication architecture to integrate EVCS in the power grid,we develop communication models for the in-vehicle system and EVCSs based on logical node concept of IEC 61850 ***,we implement network models for EVCSs using OPNEt *** communication technologies and configurations are considered in modeling and simulations,and end-toend delay is evaluated and discussed.

Electrospun PLLA Membranes for Caffeine Delivery: Diffusional Approach

One of the great advantages of electrospun fibers is the large tridimensional area produced, capable of storing any type of material. the aim of our investigation is to study the electrospinning technique to produce polymer membranes for drug delivery applications, given their large surface area and ability to transport a bioactive compound. A mathematical modeling of the delivery system kinetics was also studied to find the mechanism that controls the releasing process. Results showed that electrospinning could provide regular and smooth membranes suitable for drug delivery processes. the mathematical modeling also proved that thicker PLLA membranes exhibited a Fickian diffusion behavior during the drug transport, presenting better control in drug delivery processes.
