To the Editor:Atrial fibrillation(AF)is one of the leading risk factors for stroke and is associated with a fivefold increase in the incidence of stroke.For years,warfarin has been prescribed to lower the thrombotic risk in patients with AF.However,because of the finicky nature of warfarin(ie,unpredictable pharmacokinetics,frequent international normalized ratio testing,complex food-drug interactions,etc.),it has been incrementally replaced by multiple direct oral anticoagulants(DOACs).Dabigatran,a potent,competitive,and reversible DOAC that directly targets thrombin,was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2010 as an alternative antithrombotic option for nonvalvular AF.While the randomized evaluation of long-term anticoagulation therapy(RE-LY)trial(a noninferiority trial comparing warfarin with dabigatran in patients with AF)showed that dabigatran is as successful as warfarin for preventing stroke or systemic embolism,its adverse effects also need attention.[1]Accumulating case reports have attracted attention to the issue of dabigatran-induced esophagitis(DIE).[2,3]Recent studies have found that elderly patients are more likely to develop DIE.[4]However,herein,we present a case of a younger male who developed DIE after taking dabigatran.

Main text The levodopa-induced dyskinesias(LIDs)in Parkinson’disease(PD)patients during levodopa treatment can lead to significant disability.Accumulative evidence has suggested that the younger the age of onset,the more likely the development of LIDs[1].Till now,most of the studies on clinical or genetic risk factors for LIDs were cross-sectional[2],or included limited sample size[3],or mainly included late-onset PD patients[4].Here,we investigated the incidence of LIDs in the early stage of early-onset PD(EOPD),including the first 5 years of duration and the first 5 years of dopamine replacement therapy(DRT),and established and validated clinicalgenetic models for LID prediction.Detailed methods are provided in Supplementary File 1.

Dear Editor We read the publication with great interest.1 Shrivastava and Shrivastava concluded that‘the maximum out-of-pocket expenditure was for accident/trauma cases,and overall the largest share was for buying medications for the treat-ment.’1 We would like to share ideas on this finding.In fact,the expenditure for health is an important consideration in public health management.For the rural area,the expenditure is usually a problem for the local people.

Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) dating is a relatively new technique applicable also to the dating of materials from littoral zones and shallow sea regions, such as shells, corals, bones and teeth, foraminifera, diatoms, etc. ESR dating can span the time interval between the older limit of 14C dating and the younger limit of the K-Ar dating, an interval of 103-106 years. Therefore, ESR technique is very suitaHe for the measurement of the age of Quaternary sea-level changes. This paper gives some samples’ results by ESR dating from Early Pleistoncene to Holocene.The Quaternary sea-level changes in China were mainly eustatisms that corresponded to the paleotemperature variation. We have just begun study on the 18O Paleotemperature in our continental area. Preliminary results show the temperature curve of the stalagmitic growth in caves corresponds well to the sea - level changes in 76-55×103 years B. P.
