Application of 3D Electrical Resistivity Tomography for Diagnosing Leakage in Earth Rock-Fill Dam

The leakage occurs during operation of the dam in Liuhuanggou reservoir. It’s a threat to the safety of the people’s lives and property in downstream. In order to eliminate the hidden danger of reservoir, ensure the safety of the dam, play better the function of flood control and water storage of the reservoir etc., we apply the 3D electrical resistivity tomography detecting technology and volume rendering image processing technology, make the measurement in field, process the data and combine the field survey to find out the leakage channels inside the dam. The results show that the 3D resistivity images appear the low resistivity zone corresponding with the leakage channels. There are two main leakage channels that come from different location inside the dam. It is feasible to diagnose the leakage in earth rock-fill dam by applying 3D electrical resistivity tomography.

in this paper we present a distributed graphics processing support library called DGPSL. Itis a facility for implementing graphics applications which repuire expensive computing power on a network of workstations- Users may use it to implernent distributed graphics application just as use anordinary library- DGPSI- contains a sequencial graphics library (SGL) and a parallel graphics library(PGL). When users call graphics rountines in PGL, DGPSL finds more than one idle rnachines andexecute the specified algorithm in parallel. The DGPSL is implemented on a heterogenous *** DGPSL, we have developed a distributed solid modeling sysytem and a distributed volurne ren-dering system.

＜正＞In this paper,we present a distributed software architecture for volume visualization that utilizes conventional PCs to generate high-quality interactive *** present a method for enabling progressive client-server volume visualization of data from the computing *** is performed on clients, while servers on the grid provide wavelet compressed volume *** provides a modular framework that can accommodate a wide variety of rendering algorithms and data formats. Demonstration modules that implement ray tracing,fractal rendering,and volume rendering algorithms were developed to evaluate the *** are encouraging,the system can interactively render simple to moderately complex data sets at modest *** scalability is achieved.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in the time and image quality of reconstructed cerebral angiograms between volume CT digital subtraction angiography （VCTDSA） and conventional CT angiography（CTA） with bone elimination technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-two patients with cerebrovascular diseases, who underwent VCTDSA in our department, were further remodeled cerebral vessels with both VCTDSA and conventional CTA. Cerebral vessels were displayed with 3D volume rendering （3D VR） and 3D maximum intensity projection （3D MIP）, respectively. The post-processing time and the image quality were then compared. RESULTS: The image quality with VCTDSA vessel reconstruction was excellent. Compared with conventional CTA, VCTDSA had an advantage in displaying the integrity of vessels, the range of intracranial arteries and veins, and also in lessening the remained high density shadows （ p＜0.001）. The time of post-processing by VCTDSA （mean: 6.87±2.96 min） was much shorter than that of conventional CTA （mean: 14.37±1.66 min）（ p＜0.001）. There was a significant positive correlation between the post-processing time and the subtraction image quality with VCTDSA （ r=0.79, p＜0.001）. CONCLUSION: VCTDSA is a fast, accurate and feasible method for the sensitive assessment of cerebrovascular structures and can be used as a powerful tool in the diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases. Compared with conventional CTA, VCTDSA has an advantage in displaying the integrity of vessels, the range of intracranial arteries and veins, and also in lessening the remained high density shadow. The post-processing time of VCTDSA is significant shorter than that of conventional CTA.
