The objective of the study is to compare the results of virtual autopsy and traditional autopsy and then to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of *** cases with postmortem computed tomography(CT)examination and autopsy were *** CT images were sent to radiologists for interpretation and were compared with autopsy *** the cases of death in traffic accidents,the two examination conclusions are relatively consistent;in the cases of sudden cardiac death,the information provided by virtual autopsy is limited;virtual autopsy has more strength on showing some lesions such as pneumatosis and *** autopsy has high application value in traffic accident cases,while its application in some sudden death cases remains to be improved.

The virtual anatomy laboratory was jointly established by the Jilin Province Department of Public Security,Public Security Bureau of Changchun,Jilin University and Neusoft Medical Systems Co.,*** December 30,*** of the laboratory construction,virtual autopsy process,case analysis,research and development,establishment of standards,application in teaching,and other aspects of the center are summarized in this *** addition,we expound the prospective and practical significance of the virtual anatomy *** on computed tomography and magnetic resonance detection methods,the prospective applications of virtual anatomy in forensic identification are explored through the analyses of two real-life *** information from traditional anatomy as the gold standard,this study expanded on and explored the application technology and scenarios of virtual anatomy in imaging,clinical diagnosis,and equipment manufacturing,among other *** four cooperating units have their strengths and will yield valuable scientific research results and social benefits.

Postmortem CT in decedents with SARS-CoV-2 infection.A single institution experience

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by SARS-CoV-2 produced a global pandemic with significant *** autopsies are not routinely performed on all decedents with SARS-CoV-2 infection,postmortem CT(PMCT)may be valuable to provide additional information on the cause of death and risk factors known to be associated with an increased mortality in *** purpose of this manuscript is to review the PMCT findings in a series of 42 decedents with SARS-CoV-2 infection from our *** analysis of 42 decedents who had a positive postmortem nasopharyngeal swab for SARS-CoV-2 and had a PMCT were included in this *** were reviewed for pulmonary findings seen in COVID-19 and other organ *** the 42 decedents,although the majority had imaging findings in the lungs that would be consistent with COVID-19 and acute respiratory distress syndrome,in 14%of the decedents the SARS-CoV-2 infection was likely coincidental and the PMCT findings suggested that they died from other *** half of the decedents that died from COVID-19 had PMCT findings of vascular *** is useful to identify pulmonary and extra pulmonary findings in decedents with SARS-CoV-2 infection that can provide additional information,which may be useful for the forensic pathologist to help determine the underlying cause of death.
