Evaluations of physico-chemical properties of TiO_(2)/clinoptilolite synthesized via three methods on photocatalytic degradation of crystal violet

Different preparation routes for TiO_(2)-supported natural and synthetic clinoptilolite(TiO_(2)/CP)composites were thoroughly investigated on the basis of sol-gel,hydrothermal,and in-situ hydrothermal *** micro-structural features and physicochemical properties of resultant TiO_(2)/CPs were characterized via X-ray diffraction patterns,scanning(transmission)electron microscope images,Fourier transform infrared spectra,inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry methods,BET-isotherms,UV-visible spectra,and surface charge potential *** results showed that in-situ hydrothermal method led to well dispersions of loaded-TiO_(2) particles on the surface of leaf-like CP,while obviously aggregated TiO_(2) on a relatively distorted structure of CP was obtained using sol-gel and hydrothermal *** adsorptive and photocatalytic efficiencies for removal of crystal violet(CV)dye in aqueous solution were also explored under *** results demonstrated that TiO_(2)/CPs synthesized via sol-gel and in-situ hydrothermal methods presented the excellent performances with 98% removal efficiencies as compare to the bare commercial TiO_(2) which achieved 53%removal of CV ***,the in-situ hydrothermally synthesized TiO_(2)/CPs were the best due to their moderate energy cost,highest adsorption capacities and removal ***,the synthetic CPs as supports exhibited synergetic photocatalytic activities for the degradation of CV dye,which is attributed to their high surface areas,better adsorption capability,and fine dispersion of TiO_(2) *** and degradation kinetics of CV dye were found to follow the pseudo-second and pseudo-first order models,respectively.

Optical limiting properties of a crystal violet cation fulleride salt dissolved in tetrahydrofuran have been studied by using 10 ns,532 nm laser *** fluence-dependent transmissivity measurements were performed on the samples with the same concentration and different path lengths in a collimated optical *** comparison,the fluence-dependent transmissivities of fullerene C_(60) and crystal violet solutions were also measured under the same linear *** nonlinear optical limiting effect of the fulleride salt in tetrahydrofuran was even slightly stronger than that of C_(60) in toluene.

CeO2 thin film was fabricated by dual ion beam epitaxial technique. The phenomenon of PL violet shift at room temperature was observed, and the distance of shift was about 65 nm. After the analysis of crystal structure and valence in the compound were carried out by XRD and XPS technique, it was concluded that the PL shift was related with valence of cerium ion in the oxides. When the valence of cerium ion varied from tetravalence to trivalence, the PL peak position would move from blue region to violet region and the phenomenon of 'violet shift' was observed.

Using the Cerenkov second harmonic generation, 478 nm blue and 402nm violet light are generated by direct frequency doubling of 956 and 804 nm diode lasers in a same proton exchanged MgO:LiNbO3 waveguide. Under the low fundamental guide wave power of less than 1mW, the estimated value of the output blue and violet light power is in the order of 0.1-0.01μW.

Ultra violet radiation is detrimental to human skin and responsible for various skin diseases that is now worldwide growing concern for the people. Sun screen lotions, however, considered best possible solution but its temporary attachment didn’t bring the real impact. The advancement of nano technology provides a number of techniques to introduce UV protected fabric by applying certain semi conductor metal oxide. So many researches have been carried out to coat the fabric using certain nano particles namely ZnO and TiO2 to improve the UV absorption capacity of material as well as increasing UPF value to protect the human skin which have been playing a significant role to provide UV protected clothing. This paper deals with the harmful impact of ultra violet radiation on human skin, UPF measurement method and UV protective finishing on textile material using nano ZnO and nano TiO2 particle.

The purpose of this study was to prepare nano-titanium tannate complex (TTC) and to investigate its adsorption capacity for removal of cationic dyes such as crystal violet (CV) dye. The morphology and the main elements of TTC adsorbent were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), while its crystal structure was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Also, FT-IR spectroscopy study structural aspects of TTC. A “cotton-ball”-like and porous surface structure of titanium tannate complex (TTC) with nanoparticle size of 16.18 nm show high capability for absorbing crystal violet dye. The effect of several parameters such as contact time, initial concentrations of CV, solution pH and the amount of TTC was investigated. Three different kinetic equations such as pseudo-first order, pseudo-second order and intraparticle diffusion were used to study the order and the mechanism of the adsorption process. The adsorption of CV dye followed pseudo- second order equation. Moreover, equilibrium data were tested with four adsorption isotherm models namely, Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R). Langmuir was the best fit for the data with maximum capacity as 58.8 mg/g. The results of Separation factor, Surface coverage and standard free energy (ΔG°) indicated that adsorption of CV onto TTC was favorable with fast rate and spontaneous physical adsorption process.

This work reports the adsorption of crystal violet (CV) dye onto magnetic zeolite (MZ) nanoparticles, synthesized by direct fusion of fly ash (FA) and magnetite particles. The synthesised MZ showed high capacity for CV dye adsorption, removing 95% of the dye at an equilibrium adsorption time of 10 min and 25℃. The effects of adsorbent dosage, dye concentration, and pH, on adsorption were evaluated. Adsorption data were best described by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm (R2 = 0.9986), while the adsorption kinetics was best fitted by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2 = 0.9999). Application of the MZs synthesised from inexpensive resources such as FA could ensure the sustainability and cost effectiveness of treating industrial effluent containing basic dyes, especially effluent from the textile industries.

Spectrophotometric determination of some calcium channel blockers using Sulfochlorophenol-S, Bromopyrogallol red, Eriochromecyanine-R and Pyrocatechoil violet

Four simple, sensitive and accurate spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of some calcium channel blockers: Amlodipine besylate (ADB), Diltiazem hydrochloride (DTZ) and Verapamil hydrochloride (VPM) in pharmaceutical formulations. These methods based on formation ion pair complexes with Sulfochlorophenol-S (SCPS), Bromopyrogallol red (BPR), Eriochromecyanine- R (ECC) and Pyrocatechol violet (PCV) in acidic medium. The colored products are extracted with chloroform and measured spectrophoto- metrically at 462, 600, 440 and 442 for ECC, SCPS, BPR and PCV, respectively. Beer’s low was obeyed in the concentration range, for ECC: 25 - 175 μg·ml-1, 50 - 150 μg·ml-1 or 100 - 250 μg·ml-1, for SCPS: 300 - 800 μg·ml-1, 200 - 700 μg·ml-1 or 100 - 550 μg·ml-1, for BPR: 50 - 400 μg·ml-1, 200 - 700 μg·ml-1 or 200 - 700 μg·ml-1 for VPM, DTZ or ADB, respectively and for PCV: 50 - 250 μg·ml-1 for VPM or 200 - 500 μg·ml-1 for DTZ with molar absorptivity, for ECC: 2.2 × 104, 2.1 × 104, 1.6 × 104 L·mol-1·cm-1, for SCPS: 3.8 × 103, 5.6 × 103, 8.1 × 103 L·mol-1·cm-1, for BPR: 11 × 103, 4.8 × 103, 6.9 × 103 L·mol-1·cm-1 for VPM, DTZ or ADB, respectively and for PCV: 19.5 × 103 L·mol-1·cm-1 for VPM and 6.6 × 103 L·mol-1·cm-1 for DTZ and relative standard deviation, for ECC: 0.76%, 0.86%, 0.46%, for SCPS: 0.94%, 0.96%, 0.86%, for BPR: 0.96%, 0.95%, 0.55% for VPM, DTZ or ADB, respectively and for PCV: 0.81% for VPM and 0.65% for DTZ. These methods have been successfully applied for the assay of drug in pharmaceutical formulations. No interference was observed from common pharmaceutical adjuvants. Statistical comparison of the results with the reference method shows excellent agreement and indicates no significant difference in accuracy and precision.
