The Experiences With Nurses Trainings Concerning Prevention of violence in the Czech Republic in Years 2010-2013

The aim of this paper is to analyze the results from the implemented projects and trainings which were aimed to minimize violence in health care area in CR （the Czech Republic） in years 2010-2013. The paper describes the results and experience from the communication trainings which were gained within the projects： CR lacks the support of government agencies so as employers and research on the issue, medical staff are not professional enough in communication, there are more requirements for the quality of lecturers; there is no existing general system of monitoring of violent incidents; there is no relevant education at schools. The article contains also new general ways about how to resolve mentioned problems. These results include the special mini project where educated 550 staff members in the health care area in a short time period and taught them key skills for how to approach the aggressive patients-50.6% respondents used successfully the gained skills in their practice （negotiation with patients, aggressive related）; 42.7% respondents also used successfully the gained skills in their private life. It was found out that with the used skills the courage by conflict resolution was created.

Trauma and Narrative Wreckage in the Biblical Story of Hagar

The story of Hagar （Genesis 16 and 12） figures prominently in Bible＇s patriarchal narratives of both the elected and rejected with respect to divine promise. As the story of an abused foreign woman cast out into an inhospitable wilderness along with her son, the story raises troubling questions about the portrayal of domestic violence perpetuated by those otherwise celebrated as “faithful” within biblical narratives： Abraham and his wife Sarah. In response to the relative silence on the topic of domestic violence among clergy and leaders of churches, synagogues, and other “sacred spaces”, this paper explores a reading of Hagar＇s story that reclaims her value as a human being. With the help of post-Shoah reading sensitivities that expose strategies of dehumanization, this reading makes visible the way in which the ancient writer/reactor of Genesis performs as an advocate for Hagar in the face of the abuse heaped upon her. In so doing, Hagar＇s story is transformed from a narrative about a rejected “other” into one that exposes abuse by the so-called“elected.” Thus read, the story provides support and encouragement for victims in contemporary religious cultures to step forward and tell their stories.

The Question of Healing and Forgetting： Disturbing Realities inShort Stories of Ritu Menon and Uravashi Bhutalia

It is taken for granted that during partition （Indo-Pak, 1947）, Hindus were massacred by Muslims and same isconsidered true vice versa. This is a deep rooted attitude behind years of prejudice between both the communities.The collective sensibility of one community has affected the other. The available history of partition discussesmainly the political issues or is marked with patriotic bias. For the historians, it has been a constitutional or politicalarrangement which does not affect the contours of Indian society. If seen from the perspective of survivors, thehistory of partition appears very different. It is all violence for them. This difference leads to a wide chasm betweenhistory and the account in form of oral history in particular about partition; its pain and silence. On one hand wherenations can insulate them behind national interests and agendas, the communities that faced partition have to livewith painful memories and moments of violence they faced. Urvashi Bhutalia in her The Other Side of Silence andRitu Menon in her Borders and Boundaries narrates the inhuman experiences of women migrants and trauma facedby survivors. Women in their short stories speak for themselves, without any restrictions or depending on any criticor historian to interpret their pain, about the violence they faced by strangers as well as their near and dear ones.They were subjected to rape and abduction, given no choice of repatriation, were forced to abort or abandonchildren fathered by their abductors. They struggled to put their life together in state of loss of identity andbelongingness. The paper tries to investigate the link between community, caste, gender with violence at the time ofpartition. It deals with the ＂memory＂ that steps in when history fails to address the issue of dislocation. It discusseswomen＇s unspeakable horrifying experiences, their painful truth and their silence that is still in the process ofhealing and forgetting.
