Polarization multiplexed diffractive computing:all-optical implementation of a group of linear transformations through a polarization-encoded diffractive network

Research on optical computing has recently attracted significant attention due to the transformative advances in machine learning.Among different approaches,diffractive optical networks composed of spatially-engineered transmissive surfaces have been demonstrated for all-optical statistical inference and performing arbitrary linear transformations using passive,free-space optical layers.Here,we introduce a polarization-multiplexed diffractive processor to all-optically perform multiple,arbitrarily-selected linear transformations through a single diffractive network trained using deep learning.In this framework,an array of pre-selected linear polarizers is positioned between trainable transmissive diffractive materials that are isotropic,and different target linear transformations(complex-valued)are uniquely assigned to different combinations of input/output polarization states.The transmission layers of this polarization-multiplexed diffractive network are trained and optimized via deep learning and error-backpropagation by using thousands of examples of the input/output fields corresponding to each one of the complex-valued linear transformations assigned to diffferent input/output polarization combinations.Our results and analysis reveal that a single diffractive network can successfully approximate and all-optically implement a group of arbitrarily-selected target transformations with a negligible error when the number of trainable diffractive features/neurons(N)approaches N_(p)N_(i)N_(o),where Ni and N_(o) represent the number of pixels at the input and output fields-of-view,respectively,and N_(p) refers to the number of unique linear transformations assigned to different input/output polarization combinations.This polarization-multiplexed all-optical diffractive processor can find various applications in optical computing and polarization-based machine vision tasks.

This study intends to present an innovative study for ranking the alternatives in multiple-criteria decision analysis(MCDA)problems under the interval-valued neutrosophic soft set(IVNSS)environment.In this study,to illustrate the notion of objective and subjective weight,the prospect decision theory(PDT)performs an imperative role in determining decision-making problems.PDT predicts human behaviour in terms of gains and losses and considers the expected utility relation to a reference point rather than complete outcomes.In the analysis of merged criteria weight and the prospect decision-making matrix,the authors get a new dimension level for ranking the array of alternatives.This manuscript provides an improved score function(SF)to convert the interval-valued membership grades of truth,indeterminacy and falsity into a mathematical and computational value.The advantage of this method is that it merges the objective and subjective weight during the proposed method.They propose an algorithm based on the SF to determine MCDA problems with IVNSSs.They illustrate a case study and provide various comparative analyses to show its significance over existing studies.

This study proposed the concepts of a multi-valued interval neutrosophic linguistic soft set(MVINLSS)by integrating the concepts of multi-valued interval neutrosophic soft set and linguistic set.MVINLSS is presented as it can deal with ambiguous and uncertain information in decision making which is characterised by linguistic membership.This proposed set amalgamates quantitative assessment with the qualitative assessment which can solve complex problems with ambiguity,uncertainty,and inconsistency.It can be an effective tool to describe the real decision-makers’opinions and reflect their hesitancy.Then,the authors propose the basic operational rules of MVINLSS.Moreover,they define a multi-valued interval neutrosophic linguistic soft weighted arithmetic averaging operator.This work proposed a multi-criteria decision-making(MCDM)method which considers different priority levels of criteria and the criteria values take the form of multi-valued interval neutrosophic linguistic soft numbers.Finally,the proposed MCDM method is applied to the knowledge management case,considering 11 criteria.

Fuzzy set and neutrosophic set are two efficient tools to handle the uncertainties and vagueness of any realworld problems.Neutrosophic set is more useful than fuzzy set(intuitionistic fuzzy sets)to manage the uncertainties of a real-life problem.This study introduces some new concepts of single-valued neutrosophic graph(SVNG).The authors have discussed the definition of regular SVNG,complete SVNG and strong SVNG.The shortest path problem is a well-known combinatorial optimisation problem in the field of graph theory due to its various applications.Uncertainty is present in almost every application of shortest path problem which makes it very hard to decide the edge weight properly.The main objective behind the work in this study is to determine an algorithmic technique for shortest path problem which will be very easy and efficient for use in real-life scenarios.In this study,the authors consider neutrosophic number to describe the edge weights of a neutrosophic graph for neutrosophic shortest path problem.An algorithm is introduced to solve this problem.The uncertainties are incorporated in Bellman-Ford algorithm for shortest path problem using neutrosophic number as arc length.They use one numerical example to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

In this study,the authors envisage the neutrosophic number from various distinct rational perspectives and viewpoints to give it a look of a conundrum.They focused and analysed neutrosophic fuzzy numbers when indeterminacy and falsity functions are dependent on each other,which serves an indispensable role for the uncertainty concept.Additionally,the idea of cylindrical neutrosophic single-valued number is focused here,when the indeterminacy and falsity functions are dependent to each other using an influx of different logical and innovative graphical representation.They also developed the score and accuracy function for this particular cylindrical neutrosophic single-valued number and analysed some real-life problems like networking critical path model problem and minimal spanning tree problem of operation research field when the numbers are in cylindrical neutrosophic ambiance.They also introduced a multi-criterion group decision-making problem in this cylindrical neutrosophic domain.This noble thought will help us to solve a plethora of daily life problems in the neutrosophic arena.

The recent boom of economic activities has escalated the demand for oil that eventually will affect its prices.However,oil prices are difficult to predict because most of the factors affecting oil prices are vague and intangible.The challenges in predicting oil prices urgently require a novel approach where issues related to multiple-factors,uncertainty,and periodicity can be addressed.The authors propose the single-valued neutrosophic relations based decision-making method inspired by the three memberships of neutrosophic sets,and amplitude and periodicity of complex numbers.The proposed method is applied to the case of oil prices where six factors affecting oil prices and six benchmarks measuring oil prices are employed.This new method combines with complex neutrosophic numbers and algebraic relations,and can suggest the most influential factor that affects oil prices.Considering the periodicity of 24 months,computation results verify the‘global economic rate’as the most influential factor that affects the prices of oil.The main contribution of this study is the development of a neutrosophic relations-based decision-making method to suggest the most influential factor that affects oil prices.The result provides evidence on the feasibility of the proposed method in suggesting the influential factors that affect oil prices.

The shortest path problem has been one of the most fundamental practical problems in network analysis.One of the good algorithms is Bellman-Ford,which has been applied in network,for the last some years.Due to complexity in the decision-making process,the decision makers face complications to express their view and judgment with an exact number for single valued membership degrees under neutrosophic environment.Though the interval number is a special situation of the neutrosophic,it did not solve the shortest path problems in an absolute manner.Hence,in this work,the authors have introduced the score function and accuracy function of trapezoidal interval valued neutrosophic numbers with their illustrative properties.These properties provide important theoretical base of the trapezoidal interval valued neutrosophic number.Also,they proposed an intelligent algorithm called trapezoidal interval valued neutrosophic version of Bellman’s algorithm to solve neutrosophic shortest path problem in network analysis.Further,comparative analysis has been made with the existing algorithm.

The aims of this paper are.- (i) to show that the CRI method should be improved and remould into the triple I method, (ii) to propose a new type of fuzzy reasoning with multiple rules of which the premise of each rule is an interval valued fuzzy subset, (iii) to establish the 'fire one or leave (FOOL)' principle as pretreatment for solving the fuzzy reasoning problem mentioned in (ii), and (iv) to solve the problem mentioned in (ii).

With the increasing awareness of sustainable chemistry and green chemistry,catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))into high value‐added and bulk chemicals is a promising tech‐nology that can utilize CO_(2) as an ideal C1 source while simulta‐neously storing renewable energy.Despite being frustrated with its thermodynamic stability and kinetic inertness,CO_(2) has been tamed for triggering catalytic constructions of highly‐valued entities like important hydrocarbon fuels and fine chemicals,mainly aiding by two scenarios:CO_(2) reduction and CO_(2)‐involved organic synthesis.Accordingly,science,industry and govern‐ment agencies have been devoted to leverage these synthetic tools in targeting the catalytic conversion of CO_(2).Therefore,it motivates us to organize the special column of“Catalytic Con‐version of CO_(2)”.The column contains 14 papers,including 4 reviews,4 communications and 6 articles,which cover the frontiers and most of the research aspects of catalytic con‐version of CO_(2).
