Patients with chronic liver diseases(CLDs)have high hospitalization and mortality rates when combined with severe coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)because of defects in humoral and cellular immunity,known as immune dysfunction.COVID-19 vaccines effectively reduce the risk of severe illness and mortality caused by the virus.Several studies have confirmed the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine in patients with CLD,and the existing expert consensus recommends that patients with stable CLD be prioritized for the COVID-19 vaccine.In addition,clinical trials are ongoing to determine the optimal strategy for patients with CLD to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.In this study,we review the progress of research on the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination in patients with CLD,aiming to provide better recommendations for the vaccination in this population.

Background:To investigate the common symptoms after Covid-19 infection,characteristics of adverse events after vaccination,changes in clinical manifestations related to Neurofibromatosis type 1(NF1),as well as the current vaccination status and factors related to vaccine hesitation among NF1 patients,in order to provide a basis for scientific protection and vaccine acceptance in NF1 individuals in the new phase of pandemic management.Methods:From December 29,2022,to January 10,2023,we conducted a self-assessment questionnaire survey among diagnosed NF1 patients.General data were provided including sex,age,main clinical presentations,and current treatment.This study mainly focused on the infection and vaccination status of Covid-19 among these patients with NF1.The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS26.0 software.Results:Of the 250 questionnaires distributed,226 were valid.Among the 164 patients(72.6%)with Covid-19 infection,the most common infection symptoms and incidence of patients were not significantly different from those in the normal population(P>0.05),but the incidence of symptoms such as nasal congestion,headache,myalgia,sore throat,abdominal pain,diarrhea,and eye discomfort was higher than that in the normal population(Pvaccination,and more than half of those who were not vaccinated had no plans for vaccination.Among the vaccinated patients,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events,such as fever,pain,redness,and swelling at the injection site after vaccination,compared to the normal population(P>0.05),but the incidence of fatigue and headache was higher in NF1 patients(Pvaccination.Conclusion:Currently,some NF1 patients appear to be worried about the evolution of their disease after Covid-19 infection in the face of large fluc

Background China has a high burden of influenza-associated illness among children.We aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of introducing government-funded influenza vaccination to children in China(fully-funded policy)compared with the status quo(self-paid policy).Methods A decision tree model was developed to calculate the economic and health outcomes,from a societal perspective,using national-and provincial-level data.The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio(ICER)[incremental costs per quality-adjusted life year(QALY)gained]was used to compare the fully-funded policy with the self-paid policy under the willingness-to-pay threshold equivalent to national and provincial GDP per capita.Sensitivity analyses were performed and various scenarios were explored based on real-world conditions,including incorporating indirect effect into the analysis.Results Compared to the self-paid policy,implementation of a fully-funded policy could prevent 1,444,768[95%uncertainty range(UR):1,203,446-1,719,761]symptomatic cases,92,110(95%UR:66,953-122,226)influenza-related hospitalizations,and 6494(95%UR:4590-8962)influenza-related death per season.The fully-funded policy was cost-effective nationally(7964 USD per QALY gained)and provincially for 13 of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs).The probability of a funded vaccination policy being cost-effective was 56.5%nationally,and the probability in 9 of 31 PLADs was above 75%.The result was most sensitive to the symptomatic influenza rate among children under 5 years[ICER ranging from−25,612(cost-saving)to 14,532 USD per QALY gained].The ICER of the fully-funded policy was substantially lower(becoming cost-saving)if the indirect effects of vaccination were considered.Conclusions Introducing a government-funded influenza policy for children is cost-effective in China nationally and in many PLADs.PLADs with high symptomatic influenza rate and influenza-associated mortality would benefit the most from a government-funded influenza vaccination program.

The World Health Organization(WHO)prioritizes pneumococcal disease as a vaccine-preventable disease and recommends the inclusion of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines(PCV)in national immunization programs worldwide.However,PCV is not included in the National Immunization Program in China and has low vaccination coverage due to its high cost.To address this,Weifang City implemented an innovative strategy for a 13-valent PCV(PCV13)on June 1,2021.This strategy aimed to provide one dose of PCV13 free of charge for children aged 6 months to 2 years in registered households and to adopt a commercial insurance model with one dose of PCV13 free of charge in 2023 for children over 2 years old.The Health Commission of Weifang and other departments conducted a comprehensive investigation and considered various factors,such as vaccine efectiveness,safety,accessibility,vaccine price,and immunization schedules,for eligible children(under 5 years old).Stakeholder opinions were also solicited before implementing the policy.The Commission negotiated with various vaccine manufacturers to maximize its negotiating power and reduce vaccine prices.The implementation plan was introduced under the Healthy Weifang Strategy.Following the implementation of this strategy,the full course of vaccination coverage increased signifcantly from 0.67 to 6.59%.However,vaccination coverage is still lower than that in developed countries.Weifang’s PCV13 vaccination innovative strategy is the frst of its kind in Chinese mainland and is an active pilot of non-immunization program vaccination strategies.To further promote PCV13 vaccination,Weifang City should continue to implement this strategy and explore appropriate fnancing channels.Regions with higher levels of economic development can innovate the implementation of vaccine programs,broaden fnancing channels,improve accessibility to vaccination services,and advocate for more localities to incorporate PCV13 into locally expanded immunization programs or people-benefting projects.A monitoring and evaluati

Cervical cancer is a major public health concern in China,accounting for almost one-fifth of the global incidence and mortality.The recently prequalified domestic bivalent human papillomavirus(HPV)vaccine offers a practical and feasible preventive measure.In response to the global call for action,the National Health Commission issued an Action Plan to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030,with promotion of the HPV vaccination for school-aged girls as a critical step.Despite this,implementation of the vaccination has been patchy,with very low coverage among eligible girls.To address this,from December 2021 to December 2022,a demonstration project was launched in Shenzhen,Guangdong Province,to promote the inclusion of HPV vaccine in local immunisation programme and to address existing barriers to implementation.Using multiple sources of data,this article presents a case study of the demonstration project,analysing its impact on rolling out HPV vaccination among eligible girls and identifying any challenges encountered during implementation.The demonstration project has shown promising results in increasing the HPV vaccination rate,promoting public awareness and acceptance of the domestic HPV vaccine,and establishing a model for quickly scaling up the vaccination at the municipal level.The success of the project can be attributed to several factors,including strong governmental commitment,sufficient funding,multi-sectoral collaboration,ensured vaccine accessibility and affordability,improved vaccination services,and effective health education and communication strategies.Lessons learned from Shenzhen can provide valuable insights for future advocacy and implementation of the vaccination in other areas of China,but challenges must be addressed to achieve universal coverage.These include addressing vaccine hesitancy,expanding the programme to cover a broader age range,and ensuring consistent quality of vaccination services in primary care facilities.Overcoming these challenges will require innovative strategies,public-pri

BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is continuing.The disease most commonly affects the lungs.Since the beginning of the pandemic thorax computed tomography(CT)has been an indispensable imaging method for diagnosis and follow-up.The disease is tried to be controlled with vaccines.vaccination reduces the possibility of a severe course of the disease.AIM The aim of this study is to investigate whether the vaccination status of patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 has an effect on the CT severity score(CT-SS)and CORADS score obtained during hospitalization.METHODS The files of patients hospitalized between April 1,2021 and April 1,2022 due to COVID-19 were retrospectively reviewed.A total of 224 patients who were older than 18 years of age,whose vaccination status was accessible,whose severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 polymerase chain reaction result was positive,and who had a Thorax CT scan during hospitalization were included in the study.RESULTS Among the patients included in the study,52.2%were female and the mean age was 61.85 years.The patients applied to the hospital on the average 7th day of their complaints.While 63 patients were unvaccinated(Group 1),20 were vaccinated with a single dose of CoronaVac(Group 2),24 with a single dose of BioNTech(Group 3),38 with 2 doses of CoronaVac(Group 4),40 with 2 doses of BioNTech(Group 5),and 39 with 3 doses of vaccine(2 doses of CoronaVac followed by a single dose of BioNTech,Group 6).CT-SS ranged from 5 to 23,with a mean of 12.17.RESULTS CT-SS mean of the groups were determined as 14.17,13.35,11.58,10.87,11.28,10.85,respectively.Accordingly,as a result of the comparisons between the groups,the CT-SS levels of the unvaccinated patients found to be significantly higher than the other groups.As the vaccination rates increased,the rate of typical COVID-19 findings on CT was found to be significantly lower.CONCLUSION Increased vaccination rates in COVID-19 patients reduce the probability of typical COVID-19 symptoms in the lungs.It also

Objective:To determine health systems-related,familial,and cultural factors which influence the delivery and uptake of measles vaccination in Indonesia.Methods:Logistic regression analysis of data collected during the 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey was undertaken by the authors to investigate these factors.The 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey dataset is a nationally representative,randomly sampled survey containing 15 065 children aged between 9 and 59 months.Results:72.8%of children had received the measles vaccine.vaccination coverage was similar for males and females;however,coverage was higher amongst urban children,80.1%,compared to 68.5%in rural areas.The key findings of the regression analysis were congruent with the results of previous research targeting vaccination coverage.After controlling for all other factors,maternal age,maternal education,wealth, the use of a skilled birth attendant,and postnatal check-ups were positively and significantly (Pvaccination.The number of children per household was negatively correlated(Pvaccination coverage in Indonesia,delivery to,and uptake by,rural and low socio-economic populations require substantial improvements.Mass health education and health systems improvements are also required.
