This paper is concerned with the convergence rates to travelling waves for a relaxation model with general flux functions. Compared with former results in this direction, the main novelty in this paper lies in the fact that the initial disturbance can be chosen large in suitable norm. Our analysis is based on the L^1-stability results obtained by C. Mascia and R. Natalini in [12].

In this paper, following the phase portraits analysis, we investigate the integrability of a system which physically describes the transverse oscillation of an elastic beam under end-thrust. As a result, we find that this system actually comprises two families of travelling waves： the sub- and super-sonic periodic waves of positive- and negative- definite velocities, respectively, and the localized sub-sonic loop-shaped waves of positive-definite velocity. Expressing the energy-like of this system while depicting its phase portrait dynamics, we show that these multivaiued localized travelling waves appear as the boundary solutions to which the periodic travelling waves tend asymptotically

We discuss two classes of solutions to a novel Casimir equation associated with the Ito system,a couplednonlinear wave *** travelling wave solutions and separable self-similar solutions are *** a numberof cases,explicit exact solutions are *** results,particularly the exact solutions,are useful in that they provideus a baseline of comparison to any numerical ***,such solutions provide us a glimpse of the behaviorof the Ito system,and hence the behavior of a type of nonlinear wave equation,for certain parameter regimes.

This paper contains a study of propagation of singular travelling waves u（x, t） for conservation laws ut ＋ [Ф（u）]x = ψ（u）, where Ф, ψ are entire functions taking real values on the real axis. Conditions for the propagation of wave profiles β ＋ mδ and β ＋ mδt are presented （β is a real continuous function, m ≠ 0 is a real number and δ＇ is the derivative of the Dirac measure 5）. These results are obtained with a consistent concept of solution based on our theory of distributional products. Burgers equation ut ＋（u2/2）x = 0, the iffusionless Burgers-Fischer equation ut ＋ a（u2/2）x = ru（1 - u/k） with a, r, k being positive numbers, Leveque and Yee equation ut ＋ ux = μx（1 - u）（u - u/k） with μ ≠ 0, and some other examples are studied within such a setting. A ＂tool box＂ survey of the distributional products is also included for the sake of completeness.
