The impact of large-scale grid-connected renewable power sources, such as wind generators and solar photovoitaic systems, on transient stability.of synchronous generators is discussed in this paper. The permanent magnet synchronous generator with variable speed wind turbine is used in the simulation analysis as a wind generator model. The transient stability.analysis is performed for IEEE 9-bus system model with high-penetration renewable power sources. The effect of FRT （fault ride-through） capability implemented for each power source on the transient stability.is investigated.

As photovoltaic （PV） capacity in power system increases, the capacity of synchronous generator needs to be reduced relatively. This leads to the lower system inertia and the higher generator reactance, and hence the generator transient stability.may negatively be affected. In particular, the impact on the transient stability.may become more serious when the considerable amounts of PV systems are disconnected simultaneously during voltage sag. In this work, the generator transient stability.in the power system with significant PV penetration is assessed by a numerical simulation. In order to assess the impact from various angles, simulation parameters such as levels of PV penetration, variety of power sources （inverter or rotational machine）, and existence of LVRT capability are considered. The simulation is performed by using PSCAD/EMTDC software.

A New Fast Optimal Emergency Control Algorithm

In order to form an emergency control policy table quickly, this paper proposes a fast algorithm of emergency control named ＂micro-step discrete method＂, which is based on the physical meaning of the gradient and the discrete characteristics of emergency control. Then it is improved through the stability.criterion, integral step, and micro-step factor. This paper takes generator-shedding as the emergency control measures. As the optimal generator-shedding control is essentially an optimal control problem and the generator-shedding variables are always constant, it is convenient to use the control parameter algorithm to solve the problem, which can calculate the gradient of the transient stability.function to control variables.

＜正＞ The design of robust controllers for uncertain systems via a global control approach is studied in this paper. The uncertain system is first decomposed and linearized into partial models over the whole operating region by using the direct feedback linearization （DFL） technique. Then robust controllers are designed for different partial models with norm-bounded uncertainties. Finally, the global control law is obtained by integrating the partial controllers with membership functions. The stability.conditions of the robust controller design are derived to guarantee the global stabilization of uncertain systems. The single-machine infinite-bus power system is used as an example system to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed global control approach. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed global control system can provide superior performance in power system transient stability.enhancement.
