A generalized first Noether theorem (GFNT) originating from the invariance under the finite continuous group for singular high-order Lagrangian and a generalized second Noether theorem (or generalized Noether identities (GNI)) for variant system under the infinite continuous group of field theory in canonical formalism are derived. The strong and weak conservation laws in canonical formalism are also obtained. It is pointed out that some variant systems also have Dirac constraint. Based on the canonical action, the generalized Poincaré-Cartan integral invariant (GPCⅡ) for singular high-order Lagrangian in the field theory is deduced. Some confusions in literafure are clarified. The GPCⅡ connected with canonical equations and canonical transformation are discussed.

Mechanobiology is the study of how stress and strain are generated by cells and how these mechanical factors regulate cell morphology and *** vascular system is subject to tensile and compressive stress and strain in the blood vessel wal that are generated by blood pressure and play a pivotal role in regulating vascular cell activities including proliferation,differentiation,apoptosis,and *** cellular processes are essential to vascular development,performance,and pathogenic *** has made significant contributions to vascular mechanobiology—establishing the uniform stress theory,addressing the generation and significance of uniform stress and strain across the blood vessel wall,and proposing the stress-growth theory,addressing the role of mechanical stress in regulating cell proliferative ac-tivities(Fung 1984,Fung 1990).These theories have exerted a profound impact on the development of Biomechanics and Mechanobiology in the vascular as well as other systems.

Intergroup conflicts occupy a special place in the interaction of social groups and of necessity form the basic building blocks for the integration of previously fragmented groups. The Western Niger delta obviously has since been a theatre of socio-political conflicts. Viewed from the contemporary clime, there is a lacuna in the formulation of theories and concepts in understanding and explaining the nature and pattern of intergroup relations in the region from the pre-colonial period. This work therefore attempts an exploratory analysis of some theories and concepts of intergroup relations in the Western Niger Delta of Nigeria using the historical approach with the use of secondary source materials. The paper concludes that the relation among the diverse ethnic groups in Nigeria, especially the Western Niger Delta, may not have been as intense, or as hostile as it has become since the attainment of independence in 1960. This paper no doubt is essential for the understanding and tackling of the problem of intergroup relations and conflict in the region in particular and Nigeria at large.

The present paper deals with thermoelastic problems of finitely long hollow cylinder com-posed of two different materials with axial sym- metry. The medium is traction-free, with neglig-ible body forces and with internal and external heat generations. The governing equations for different theories of the generalized thermoe-lasticity are written in terms of displacement and temperature increment. The exact solution of the problem;using different theories of generalized thermoelasticity;has been deduced. The analytical expressions for displacements, temperature and stresses are found in final forms, and a numerical example has been taken to discuss the effect of the relaxation times. Finally, the results have been illustrated graphi- cally to find the responses of different theories.
