Particle indistinguishability is at the heart of quantum statistics that regulates fundamental phenomena such as the electronic band structure of solids, Bose-Einstein condensation and ***, it is necessary in practical applications such as linear optical quantum computation and simulation, in particular for Boson Sampling *** is thus crucial to develop tools to certify genuine multiphoton interference between multiple *** approach employs the total variation distance to find those transformations that minimize the error probability in discriminating the behaviors of distinguishable and indistinguishable *** particular, we show that so-called Sylvester interferometers are near-optimal for this *** using Bayesian tests and inference, we numerically show that Sylvester transformations largely outperform most Haar-random unitaries in terms of sample size ***, we experimentally demonstrate the efficacy of the transformation using an efficient 3 D integrated circuits in the single-and multiple-source *** then discuss the extension of this approach to a larger number of photons and *** results open the way to the application of Sylvester interferometers for optimal assessment of multiphoton interference experiments.

Damage and threats to hydraulic and submarine structures by underwater explosions(UNDEXs)have raised much *** centrifuge model test,compared to prototype test,is a more promising way to examine the problem while reducing cost and satisfying the similitude requirements of both Mach and Froude numbers *** study used a systematic approach employing centrifuge model tests and numerical simulations to investigate the effects of UNDEXs on an air-backed steel *** methodical centrifuge tests of UNDEXs were *** shock wave pressure,bubble oscillation pressure,acceleration and the strain of the air-backed steel plate were recorded and compared with numerical studies using the finite element analysis(FEA)commercial software *** implementing empirically derived and physically measured pressures into the numerical models,the effects of the shock wave and bubble oscillation on the steel plate were ***,the numerical results were in agreement with the experimental *** results showed that the peak pressure of an UNDEX has a significant effect on the peak acceleration of the steel plate and that the impulse of the UNDEX pressure governs the peak strain of the steel plate.

AIM To explore the effect of alanine aminotransferase(ALT) on the performance of non-invasive fibrosis tests in chronic hepatitis B(CHB) patients. METHODS A total of 599 treatment-naive and biopsy-proven CHB patients were included in the study. The cohort was divided into the following three groups: Normal ALT(ALT ≤ 40), slightly elevated ALT(40 80). The diagnostic performance of five common non-invasive fibrosis tests for liver fibrosis(stages S2-4), including the aspartate aminotransferase(AST)-to-platelet(PLT) ratio index(APRI), fibrosis index based on 4 factors(FIB-4), King's score, Forns index and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase(GGT)-to-PLT ratio(GPR), were evaluated for each group. RESULTS Higher ALT levels were associated with higher non-invasive fibrosis test scores. Patients with the same fibrosis stage but higher ALT levels showed higher noninvasive test scores. The areas under the receiver operating characteristics curves(AUROCs) of the noninvasive tests for prediction of ≥ S2 were higher for patients with ALT ≤ 40 U/L(range 0.705-0.755) and 40 80 U/L(range 0.604-0.701). The AUROCs for predicting ≥ S3 and S4 were higher in patients with ALT ≤ 40 U/L(range 0.736-0.814 for ≥ S3, 0.79-0.833 for S4) than in patients with 40 80 U/L(range 0.7-0.784 for ≥ S3, range 0.662-0.719 for S4). The diagnostic accuracy of the non-invasive tests decreased in a stepwise manner with the increase in *** ALT has a significant effect on the diagnostic performance of non-invasive fibrosis tests. The ALT level should be considered before performing these noninvasive tests.

Positive bronchodilation (BD) tests can be noticed in some stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) *** characteristics of airway inflammation in this entity remain *** study aimed to identify the characteristics of airway inflammation in stable COPD patients with positive BD *** airway inflammation was assessed in 88 patients with stable COPD using the examination of induced sputum in the aftermath of lung function and BD *** counts and the levels of molecular markers including eosinophil cationic protein (ECP),myeloperoxidase (MPO),interleukin-5 (IL-5),and IL-8 were assayed by Wright's stain,Immuno-CAP system,and ELISA,*** the 88 patients with stable COPD,20 (22.7%) showed positive BD *** values of eosinophils (4.7%±3.4%) and ECP (90.1±41.6 ng/mL) in induced sputum in stable COPD patients with positive BD tests were markedly elevated as compared with those in stable COPD patients with negative BD tests or in healthy controls (all Ptests as compared with the patients with asthma (12.5±7.8 vs.48.2±26.0 ng/mL;Ptests (all P>0.05).Moreover,the values of neutrophils (61.8%±15.1%),MPO (574.0±111.8 ng/mL),and IL-8 (32.6±13.4 ng/mL) in induced sputum in stable COPD patients with positive BD tests were significantly higher than those in asthmatics or normal controls (all Ptests (all P>0.05).The stable COPD patients with positive BD tests may present not only eosinophilic airway inflammation but also neutrophilic airway inflammation.

Dynamic properties of rocks are important in a variety of rock mechanics and rock engineering *** to the transient nature of the loading, dynamic tests of rock materials are very different from and much more challenging than their static counterparts. Dynamic tests are usually conducted using the split Hopkinson bar or Kolsky bar systems, which include both split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) and split Hopkinson tension bar(SHTB) systems. Signi fi cant progress has been made on the quanti fi cation of various rock dynamic properties, owing to the advances in the experimental techniques of SHPB *** review aims to fully describe and critically assess the detailed procedures and principles of techniques for dynamic rock tests using split Hopkinson bars. The history and principles of SHPB are outlined,followed by the key loading techniques that are useful for dynamic rock tests with SHPB(i.e. pulse shaping, momentum-trap and multi-axial loading techniques). Various measurement techniques for rock tests in SHPB(i.e. X-ray micro computed tomography(CT), laser gap gauge(LGG), digital image correlation(DIC), Moiré method, caustics method, photoelastic coating method, dynamic infrared thermography) are then discussed. As the main objective of the review, various dynamic measurement techniques for rocks using SHPB are described, including dynamic rock strength measurements(*** compression, tension, bending and shear tests), dynamic fracture measurements(i.e. dynamic imitation and propagation fracture toughness, dynamic fracture energy and fracture velocity), and dynamic techniques for studying the in fl uences of temperature and pore water.

Owing to the advantages of wire-driven parallel manipulator, a new wire-driven parallel suspension system for airplane model in low-speed wind tunnel is constructed, and the methods to measure and calculate the aerodynamic parameters of the airplane model are studied. In detail, a static model of the wire-driven parallel suspension is analyzed, a mathematical model for describ- ing the aerodynamic loads exerted on the scale model is constructed and a calculation method for obtaining the aerodynamic parameters of the model by measuring the tension of wires is presented. Moreover, the measurement system for wire tension and its corresponding data acquisition system are designed and built. Thereafter, the wire-driven parallel suspension system is placed in an open return circuit low-speed wind tunnel for wind tunnel tests to acquire data of each wire tension when the airplane model is at different attitudes and different wind speeds. A group of curves about the parameters for aerodynamic load exerted on the airplane model are obtained at different wind speeds after the acquired data are analyzed. The research results validate the feasibility of using a wire-driven parallel manipulator as the suspension system for low-speed wind ttmnel tests.
