A New Hybrid Feature Selection Method Using t-test and Fitness Function

Feature selection(FS)(or feature dimensional reduction,or feature optimization)is an essential process in pattern recognition and machine learning because of its enhanced classification speed and accuracy and reduced system *** reduces the number of features extracted in the feature extraction phase by reducing highly correlated features,retaining features with high information gain,and removing features with no weights in *** this work,an FS filter-type statistical method is designed and implemented,utilizing a t-test to decrease the convergence between feature subsets by calculating the quality of performance value(QoPV).the approach utilizes the well-designed fitness function to calculate the strength of recognition value(SoRV).the two values are used to rank all features according to the final weight(FW)calculated for each feature subset using a function that prioritizes feature subsets with high SoRV *** FW is assigned to each feature subset,and those with FWs less than a predefined threshold are removed from the feature subset *** are implemented on three datasets:Ryerson Audio-Visual Database of Emotional Speech and Song,Berlin,and Surrey Audio-Visual Expressed *** performance of the F-test and F-score FS methods are compared to those of the proposed *** are also conducted on a system before and after deploying the FS *** demonstrate the comparative efficiency of the proposed *** complexity of the system is calculated based on the time overhead required before and after *** show that the proposed method can reduce system complexity.

Discrimination of toxic ingredient between raw and processed Pinellia ternata by UPLC/Q-tOF-MS/MS with principal component analysis and t-test

Objective: to investigate the toxicity difference between raw and processed Pinelliae Rhizoma(Banxia in Chinese, BX), the rhizoma of Pinellia ternata, from the view of chemical ***: Sixteen samples of raw and processed BX were prepared and analyzed by UPLC/Q-tOF-MS/*** discrimination(chemical marker) between the two group was investigated by principal component analysis(PCA) and t-test analysis. According to the accurate charge-to-mass ratio, MS/MS fragments, and comparison of corresponding data with the reference or database, the chemical markers were identified ***: Liquiritin, liquiritigenin, and lysophosphatidylcholine(LPC) were identified as the characteristic markers. the reducing of LPC in processed BX was one of the main reasons for detoxification because LPC could induce the inflammatory response;Liquiritin and liquiritigenin showed the anti-inflammatory effect and reduced liver injury, therefore the appearance of them in processed BX was an another reason for ***: An approach to explain the mechanisms of reducing the toxicity in medicinal plants by processing was proposed. Moreover, the chemical markers of toxicity could be used to differentiate the raw material from processed herbs for the quality control and safety application in clinical practice.

A New Maximum test via the Dependent Samples t-test and the Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks test

A maximum test in lieu of forcing a choice between the two dependent samples t-test and Wilcoxon signed-ranks test is proposed. the maximum test, which requires a new table of critical values, maintains nominal α while guaranteeing the maximum power of the two constituent tests. Critical values, obtained via Monte Carlo methods, are uniformly smaller than the Bonferroni-Dunn adjustment, giving it power superiority when testing for treatment alternatives of shift in location parameter when data are sampled from non-normal distributions.

从上世纪末至今,我国政府已经在全国范围内实施了包括"西部大开发"和"建设新农村"在内的多项重大的宏观经济政策。本文以"我国2005年城乡居民人均收入的统计数据"为基础,以"居民收入结构和水平"为视角,以"对应分析和t-test"为方法,以"SAS8·2统计分析软件"为工具,对宏观经济政策的经济效果进行了检验。分析结果表明:1·城乡、东西部地区居民的收入结构较政策实施前发生了显著的积极变化;2·城乡间、东西部居民的人均收入水平的提高,但差距在扩大。

Recent studies indicated that except for the land-sea thermal contrast,there also existed the land-land thermal *** composite analysis and t-test method are used to further study the local thermal contrast variation over the Asian continent,and to discuss the association of seasonal variation of land thermal state with circulation over East Asia,the early summer and summer monsoon activity,and the precipitation anomaly in China in the decadal *** show that the positive meridional temperature anomaly transports downward from upper tropospheric layers in middle-high latitudes north of 25°N in the positive *** the zonal direction,the tibetan Plateau heating in the successive spring acts as a force to influence the atmosphere,leading to the rapid temperature warming over eastern Chinese continent,which could increase the land-sea thermal contrast with the negative ***,the monsoon activity in early summer over East Asian establishes earlier and the summer monsoon intensity becomes *** early summer precipitation is more-than-normal over the Yangtze River,and the summer precipitation is more-than-normal over the north China and the southwest *** situation is contrary in the negative years.

Comparing the Efficiency of Manual and Electronic tender Document Preparation: Cost and time Context

In Bangladesh, both manual and e-GP system is used to perform public procurement. Before tender publication, tender documents have to be prepared by the Procurement Entities (PEs). the problem is that the manual tendering system involves more cost and time in preparing tender documents. the study’s purpose is to compare now the efficiency of tender document preparation in the manual system with the e-GP system. this study tests the cost and time involved in tender document preparation, both manual and e-procurement tenders. Sample data was collected from the 11 RHD zones. Structured survey questionnaires were used to collect primary data from the PE officers of RHD. A hypothesis test was performed using the model of independent samples t-test. the test results indicated that e-Procurement tender document preparation costs and time were less than manual tendering. Academicians, researchers, PE officers, and policymakers will benefit from the study’s conclusions.

Comparing the Cost and time of tender Opening Committee Report Preparation for Manual and E-Procurement tenders in the Roads and Highways Department of Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s public procurement system has been traditional, i.e., a manual tendering system, under the legislative guidance of PPA-2006 and PPR-2008. Manual tendering has long been a source of concern for public procurement agencies regarding tender opening related to cost and time. to resolve this challenge and make the dream of a Digital Bangladesh a reality, the Government of Bangladesh launched the e-Procurement system in 2011 under the flagship of e-GP Guidelines. Following the successful pilot testing conducted under the umbrella of the CPtU, all public PEs are attempting to implement electronic procurement tenders. this study aims to examine the cost and time involved in preparing tender Opening Committee (tOC) Reports for manual and e-procurement tenders in Bangladesh’s Roads and Highways Department. A mixed-method was used to collect data from the population of 11 RHD zones, including KII and primarily survey questionnaires. the independent samples t-test was used to compare data and hypothesis tests from two groups using SPSS software. the results indicated that e-Procurement tendering, tender opening preparation costs and time were more efficient than manual tendering. Academicians, students, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers will benefit from the study’s conclusions. Additionally, the government will be urged to improve policies such as the PPA 2006, the PPR 2008, and the 2011 e-GP Guideline.

A Novel One-Dimensional Projection Based Method for Fabric texture Representation

Automated defect detection in woven fabrics for quality control is still a challenging novelty detection problem,while the efficient representation of fabric texture is essential for *** paper presents a novel method for fabric texture *** from the characteristics of the weaving process,the major texture information of woven fabric is concentrated in the warp and weft ***,the proposed method is firstly to project the image patch along warp and weft directions to obtain projected vectors containing warp and weft ***,the obtained vectors instead of image patch,are used to extract the features that are able to represent fabric ***,the t-test is applied to verifying the usefulness of the proposed method in discriminating defective and normal fabric *** experiments on various defective samples demonstrate that the method yields a robust and good performance in representing fabric texture and discriminating defects.

Covariate-adaptive randomisation has a long history of applications in clinical trials. Shao, Yu,and Zhong [(2010). A theory for testing hypotheses under covariate-adaptive ***, 97, 347–360] and Shao and Yu [(2013). Validity of tests under covariate-adaptivebiased coin randomization and generalized linear models. Biometrics, 69, 960–969] showed thatthe simple t-test is conservative under covariate-adaptive biased coin (CABC) randomisation interms of type I error, and proposed a valid test using the bootstrap. Under a general additivemodel with CABC randomisation, we construct a calibrated t-test that shares the same propertyas the bootstrap method in Shao et al. (2010), but do not need large computation required by thebootstrap method. Some simulation results are presented to show the finite sample performanceof the calibrated t-test.
