Humans have always engaged with their surroundings and the ecology in which they ***,during the industrial age,this contact has been more intense and has had a substantial impact on environment and *** example,overexploitation of natural resources,mining,pollution,and deforestation are all elements that negatively affect biodiversity and natural *** studies have been conducted to evaluate the damage caused,despite the significant uncontrolled pressure from human ***,maintaining its environment is essential to the survival of coastal ***:This study’s goal was to evaluate how human activity affected Tabounsou’s coastal ecology in order to suggest remedial actions for sustainable *** following was the methodological approach used:executive consultation and archival analysis;stakeholder survey(locals,farmers,salt producers,fishers,and loggers);inventory of species;anthropogenic activity inventory;evaluation of how human activity affects aquatic life in the research region;suggestion and action for sustainable management.Outcome:Executive consultation indicated that the main issues are:construction projects that reduce the estuary’s surface area;agricultural practices such as woodcutting and salt farming;the rise in resource exploitation;noncompliance with fisheries laws;and the catching of young ***-three percent of fisherman ditch their nets on the coast after using them,but only seventeen percent burn *** a 75%frequency rate,the same survey indicates that most fisherman fish around the *** the Tabounsou area,according to loggers’survey,68%of the wood cut is Rhizophora,24%is Avicennia,and 8%is *** fish stocks,representing nine families and nine species,were identified by the species *** 18%and 15%,respectively,the actors most frequently capture the species Pseudotolithus elongatus and Arius *** to a poll of 30 farmers,90%of them apply fertilizer to the

Understanding the influencing factors and the evolving trends of the Water-Sediment Regulation System(WSRS)is vital for the protection and management.of the Yellow *** studies on WSRS have been limited in focus and have not fully addressed the complete engineering control system of the *** study takes a holistic view,treating sediment management.in the Yellow River as a dynamic and ever-evolving complex *** merges concepts from system science,information theory,and dissipative structure with practical efforts in sediment engineering *** key findings of this study are as follows:between 1990 and 2019,the average Yellow River Sediment Regulation Index(YSRI)was 55.99,with the lowest being 50.26 in 1990 and the highest being 61.48 in 2019;the result indicates that the WSRS activity decreased,yet it fluctuated,gradually approaching the critical threshold of a dissipative structure.

The Discount Rate in Terms of Evaluating Investments in Rangelands： The Case Study of Greece

This paper aims at analyzing and evaluating investments in rangeland management.through the use of the discount rate tool. The most important parameter which is considered when estimating the discount rate is the lifetime of the investment, which varies depending on the kind of the intervention. An undeniable characteristic of rangelands is their rich biodiversity. However, the fact that not all the flora and fauna has been recorded yet, suggests the need for using the lowest possible discount rate （but not zero）, giving thus a high value on the benefits that will arise for future generations always in the light of sustainable development. At the same time, a sensitivity analysis has to be performed in order to determine the upper and lower limit of return on investment, so that the decision-maker in charge can be more flexible on the evaluation Of an investment proposal.

Short-term Intensive sustainable Restoration of Grasslands and Prairies Invaded with High Densities of Nitrogen-fixing Weeds： A Test with the Invasive Plant Lespedeza Cuneata

This study examines a management.strategy for restoring grassland and prairie communities that have become degraded due to high density stands of invasive nitrogen-fixing plants. The novel management.applications minimize the use of herbicides and maximize the competitive interactions of native species. The management.method includes two seasons of application of organic fertilizer （4-1-4）, an initial herbicide （Pasture Gard, Dow Agro） application, and mowing, where mowing was a necessary treatment to control secondary growth in prairie habitats, to control high density patches of Lespedeza （L.） Cuneata, in a completely randomized factorial experiment. The herbicide was effective in reducing L. Cuneate stem density 0 stems/m^2 from an initial 88 stems/m^2 with cover reduced to 0% from 16%. The fertilizer only treatment reduced L. Cuneata percent cover to 6% from initial cover of 16%, but did not reduce the number of stems. The management.strategy is an effective fast step in restoring a native prairie invaded by a nitrogen-fixing plant.
